More and more travelers are discovering the true coastal ambiance of beautiful, historical Swansboro. Nestled between the waters of the White Oak River and the Intracoastal Waterway, Swansboro offers visitors an unhurried journey through time. Spend valuable time with military family and friends at this unique home in Swansboro, a short drive to Camp Lejeune. Only five minutes from Emerald Isle and spectacular beaches, Swansboro is a popular destination for short and long stays.
From the house you can walk downtown where many fine restaurants and unique shops are located. Swansboro has festivals and activities throughout the year; from the spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks, the Arts Festival in June, weekly Summer Outdoor concerts at the Pavilion, Mullet Festival, and Christmas Flotilla, you never need to get into a car to enjoy the fun.
You can walk down to Ward's Shore where you can launch your boat and take off to explore the true Crystal Coast! Bear Island (Hammocks Beach) is only minutes away. It is truly one of the world's most beautiful and totally undeveloped islands. Do not have a boat? Not to worry, you can take the state-run ferry to the island, or rent a boat, or kayak! Located right up from famous Casper's Marina, you can enjoy the waterfront boating activity from your front porch or stroll down to the docks and see what's going on! Deep sea fishing charters are also available at Casper's Marina. Swansboro is surrounded by nature reserves, salt marshes and small islands ideal for jet skiing and fishing, and has easy access to the ocean for deep sea fishing.
And if you want to explore the area there are many other things to do - 5 world class golf courses are within easy driving distance; take a fishing charter, rent a kayak and explore the sound; watch the dolphins from Ward's Shore (5 minute walk) or swim/kayak with them in the sound; go horseback riding on the beach, visit Historic Morehead City and Beaufort, go para-sailing, water skiing, jet skiing - the list goes on and on!
Our lovely, three-bedroom two story historic home offers you a unique and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your dream vacation! From the two front porches, you have a view of the intracoastal where you can watch the ships go by. A spiral staircase goes up to a third floor cupola with a spectacular view of both the intracoastal and White Oak River at the same time! There are two bedrooms with double and queen sized beds and a full bathroom on the second floor. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed and comfy couch for napping. All the bedrooms have large ceiling fans. There is a large bathroom complete with shower on the main floor. The living room, dining area and kitchen are decorated to complement the period of the home. Outback is a picnic table, grill, hammock for lounging and knarly oak tree that is great for climbing.
The kitchen is fully stocked, complete with refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, coffee pot and toaster oven. The adjoining utility/mud room has a second sink and washer and dryer.
The house has off street parking.

About Cynthia and Edward Binanay
My husband and I have been married for 40 years. We are blessed with 2 sons and daughters in law and 4 grand children. I work at Duke where I run a global health center and my husband works at UNC at the Center of Excellence for Community Mental Health. As you can see, this home is 'divided'. We love kayaking in Swansboro and the rich and diverse environment of Durham and Chapel Hill. We hope that you enjoy your stay.
Cynthia and Edward Binanay purchased this House in 2004
Why Cynthia and Edward Binanay chose Swansboro
My husband and I love to kayak. It is an easy walk to the waterfront where we can launch our kayaks and then weave throughout the barrier islands and Bear Island in safe, protected waters. The wildlife is spectacular, bring your binoculars. But it is also a GREAT place for our grandchildren since we can walk everywhere!

Charming historical house
Great location and it's an easy five minute walk to old Swansboro and some great eats. If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax thus is it. If you're looking for all kinds of in home entertainment, then look elsewhere. We came to see the shore, si it was perfect for us and everything works. Wifi was enough to listen to tunes or watch a movie. Thanks!
Great house in the friendly city by the sea
2nd time staying here. Great house close to everything. A large kitchen, a lot of decks and the widow's walk is awesome.

Great house in a great location! Everything was very well kept and clean, would definitely go back!
We had a great long weekend stay. The house has everything necessary. Very well kept. The owners were very responsive although we didn't really need anything from them during our stay!
Beautiful home in perfect location
My family and I stayed here for the 4th of July and could not be happier with this house! The views from the third floor were absolutely spectacular, especially for the fireworks. Pictures do not do this house justice; even though the pictures are lovely, the house itself is even Lovelier. It is Well appointed and very open and spacious feeling. I can't recommend this property enough. And Cynthia, the owner, was so wonderful to work with - Very responsive, accommodating and helpful! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home!
Thanks Virginia for your kind review, very much looking forward to having you stay with us again in the future!
