Quaint spot with ideal location!

  • 4 of 5

The rental was as portrayed on HomeAway, which we were happy about. The location couldn't be more ideal--close to River Sienne, attractions such as the Louvre, Notre Dame and many patisseries/cafes, shops. The apartment was a little cold (although we were in Paris in February with 20-30 degree weather), however, it did warm up after the first day or so. The apartment fits 3 people comfortably. Would rent again.

This is the best place to stay in all of Paris and Ruben is the all time best host

  • 5 of 5

There is no better street to stay on in all of Paris, hands down. Rue Seine is the liveliest place to be in months warm enough for outdoor seating. It's a steal for the money with extremely high ceilings, it feels much bigger than it is. We are a family of four and were fine there. Grab it early! It goes fast. And Ruben has found wonderful places for us in Paris, twice in the middle of summer with a week or so notice. The places were so great and he was so helpful that our summers in Paris were always a dream. So much so that we live here in Paris now!

Location! Location!

  • 4 of 5

Best spot to stay with everything you want just outside your door.! The host was waiting for us and was very nice and helpful! The apartment itself is good. Super comfy bed, nice kitchen that was well stocked (although the toaster was not working). Plenty of hot water for bath/ showers. Some tiles are cracked in bathroom but that didn't bother us. (We were grateful that some shampoo was left behind because they don't supply it). The 5 flights up the small staircase were welcomed after all the good food we ate out in town. But we are fit and may be quite difficult for some who are not used to it. We were grateful for the extra comforter that was meant for the sofa bed. We needed it as it has been super cold in Paris this January! Even with the heat turned up to the max the apartment can be chilly. A rug by the bed would be helpful on the tile floor. I would definitely stay again and found it to be a great value!

Another wonderful stay at the best location in Paris

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our week in St Germain so much last year that we came back to do it again. The Rue de Seine apartment is in easy walking distance of the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Sainte-Chappelle, Conciergerie, Centre Pompidou, Notre Dame, Cluny and Pantheon, so that making the most of our Museum Passes is effortless. It's also surrounded by great places to eat - the little dining room at Laduree was a standout this year. Best of all it's on a quiet courtyard, above the hustle and bustle, looking out over the chimney pots; most of the time all we could hear from there was the cries of seagulls. A perfect place to relax and read Simone de Beauvoir.

Great apartment for a stay at the heart of Paris

  • 5 of 5

Let me start with the positives:

1. Apartment is very conveniently located next to Quartier Latin:

10-15 minutes walk from Notre Dame Cathedral. There is a B RER line that goes to Charles de Gaule from Notre Dame St Michel.

There is "Paul" boulangerie around the corner,

Supermarket, laundromat and farmers market outlet are within less than 5 minutes walk

About 5 minutes from the Odeon metro stop

2. The apartment is inside a building complex. The inside yard is pristine and there is a gallery in the yard and a flower garden.

3. It is very quiet both from street noises and neighbors

4. Rue de Seine is full of galleries and crafts

5. The apartment has plenty of space to house 4 people. It is not Hyatt, but we were very pleased with the bathroom, the kitchen, the fridge and the dining table

6. The cleaning lady arrived a few minutes after us and all was good

7. All else was as expected, explicit communication with the rental manager, who fulfilled on time all contractual terms

On the not so positive side, the apartment is on the 5th floor in a building without an elevator. It was somewhat challenging to get our luggage up, but after luggage was up we did not mind the climb on the stairs one or more times a day even when we were exhausted. The round stairs were a bit difficult for the kids, so we had to hold hands or stand a few steps below to make sure they do not fall. Otherwise, nothing else really.

I hope you find this helpful! :-)

Great location for sightseeing

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a budget-friendly apartment in the heart of Paris for our family of four (two adults and two children aged 12 and 10 years), and this apartment met our needs perfectly. The Seine was a two-minute walk away, and the Louvre was right across the river. We walked everywhere, and we loved the fact that we were so close to many museums and other tourist must-sees that we could easily go "home" for a midday break. The apartment is located on a lovely street with lots of art galleries, but there are several food shops within a block or two as well. Every morning during our six-day stay at the apartment, we popped down to one of the local boulangeries for a fresh baguette to enjoy with our breakfast. Florence was very helpful in giving us a quick tour of the neighbourhood when we first arrived.

The apartment is as advertised. It's small, but there was enough space for our family. We figured the small size was part of the apartment's charm. The kitchen is equipped with all the basics -- I'd just recommend bringing a sharp knife from home if you like to cook (or if you want to slice up baguettes!). Because it faces onto an inner courtyard the apartment is very quiet, and we enjoyed a peaceful night sleep each night we were there.

We were glad we had packed light, because it might be a challenge to haul big suitcases up the five flights of stairs. We quickly got used to climbing the stairs to the apartment a few times each day, though, and all that stair-climbing served as good training for our final day in Paris, when we climbed the stairs to the second level of the Eiffel Tower. Plus, we worked off enough calories each day to justify eating all those baguettes.

We'd recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a simple, ideally located apartment to use as a home base for exploring Paris.
