This was a great house for a big family vacation with six adults and three kids, and we could have easily fit more. Tons of space, comfortable beds, and some nice extras like a large hot tub and a fire pit for making s'mores. The kitchen was better-outfitted than most rental houses with just a few odd things we could have used (a colander comes to mind). We brought some floating rafts and enjoyed paddling around on the lake, which is cold but doable if you're a lake swimmer. My brother-in-law caught a trout from the dock. The lake is directly across the street, so we just had to make sure the younger kids knew they needed to be escorted across. The road is not busy but cars come flying around fast from the nearby curve. The extra "sleeping area" is a small, windowless room with a bunk bed off the media room (it does have an exterior door), so fussier people might not enjoy it. The single and trundle single in the media room were good so we didn't end up needing the space. The master suite is huge and beautiful with two balconies, but the shower is absolutely baffling in there. You need to drive to do any non-lake activities, but Whatcom Falls Park isn't far and is absolutely worth the visit. The kids enjoyed playing with other kids at the shallow beach and playgrounds at Bloedel Donavan Park, adjacent to Whatcom Falls. There are some beautiful, easy hiking trails to explore nearby as well (North Whatcom Trail, Larrabee State Park, Stimpson Family Nature Reserve). The owner was very responsive to the few questions I had prior to and during our stay.
The house is great for a big group. Kitchen and outdoor porch is amazing for large dinners and hanging out. We had a great time.
The family and I had an incredible week at the Serenity at South Bay lake house. We enjoyed many hours on the water, on the dock and in the huge yard. The big movie room with projector was a bonus. Great for the few rainy days we had. Big spacious kitchen made it easy to prepare meals for a big family. We also enjoyed great meals almost every night on the Traeger smoker followed by s'mores over the firepit looking over the water. Beds and couches all comfy. This house was great for our big group!
Great house, beautiful location, nice amenities and enough room for our party of 12. I would have given it five stars if the hot tub would have worked. Close to Bellingham and other activities like golf, tennis and hiking.
my friend was getting married in Bellingham. we had a fairly large bridal party (roughly 12 people) the house slept everybody comfortably. plenty of room inside and out so nobody felt cramped which made for an unforgettable weekend. the owner was great, always got back to me within a few hours when I had questions. absolutely would recommend this place to anybody
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this lakeside house. It comfortably slept our large family/friend group and provided a wonderful base. The house is excellently well maintained and just 20 minutes from Bellingham. The owner was very responsive and helpful ahead of time and we had no troubles at all once we arrived. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and the front patio was our favorite location to eat, chat, and enjoy the views.
