About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom on private lane, sleeps maximum 8 adults

Located at the heart of Raystown Lake, Mid Lake Lodge is a 7-acre, hilltop hideaway nestled within federal woodlands surrounding pristine waters.  Our comfortable and inviting lodge provides privacy and relaxation. Roast marshmallows over a campfire under a starlit sky as you count the shooting stars. Find out why it’s called the Milky Way! Keep your eyes fixed to the big skies overhead during the day because our local bald eagles like to pass over as they fish lake waters.

While our location offers seclusion, there are endless opportunities for fun and adventure within a 5-mile radius in any season. Whether you are a family group, fishermen, or hunters, our lodge will provide you with a memorable experience. Enjoy easy access to the lake from any one of three nearby boat launches as close as 1.5 miles away. Take advantage of several local amenities including a public access swimming location, miniature golf, a water park, boat tours and rentals, fishing guides, and a water view restaurant to name a few.  Find pleasure at several picnicking locations, hiking trails, and geocaching opportunities.  During the fall and winter seasons, our lodge is in an ideal location for hunting, cross-country skiing, and watching eagles fish from the ice.  Make Mid Lake Lodge your hub for exploring the woodlands, shorelines, and wildlife of the beautiful Raystown Lake area!

About Judith Reed

This property was built by the Hammers family in 1976 and is still owned by the family's LLC. Ed and Viv, both World War II veterans, were the original occupants of the property. Ed passed in June of 77' leaving the cabin to Viv. When Viv moved in with her daughter to be closer to town, their youngest son Joe remained in the house.

When Joe lost his battle to Brain Cancer in February of 2011, the remaining siblings did not want to sell the property.

The 5 siblings started ELVPJM, LLC. and continue to upkeep the cabin so others can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature and a cabin built with love.

*Rentals are managed by family friend Judith Reed of Lake View Trails Inc.

Why Judith Reed chose Pennsylvania

This property is in a private location with access to three boat launches, Aitch Boat Launch (3.7 miles),

James Creek Boat Launch (1.5 miles),

Tatman Run Boat Launch and Swimming Area (5.5 miles).

What makes this cabin unique

Sleep to the sounds of whip-o-wills and bob whites and roast marshmallows over a campfire under a starlit sky as you count the shooting stars. Find out why it’s called the Milky Way! Keep your eyes fixed to the big skies overhead during the day because our local bald eagles like to pass over as they fish the lake waters.

Great Place, Great Time

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at this cabin. It is a spectacular place and the Hammers are great landlords. The cabin is remarkably clean and well kept. Plenty of supplies, new BBQ. The property was a ton of fun with the woods and firepit. Very close to the boat ramp which we used several times. Parking the boat was easy. We had good internet. We biked locally on some great roads with virtually no traffic.

Overall this was a really nice location. Would definitely recommend and will someday hope to stay there again.

Family fun

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful, clean, and the owners were very accomidating. It was much closer to the lake and the surrounding activities then we originally thought. It was exactly what we wanted, a quiet, secluded cabin in the woods at the lake. It was perfect! Thank you for having us.

Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and 2 year old grand-daughter spent a week at the Mid-Lake Cabin. It was wonderful. So quiet and peaceful. My grand-daughter loved the large yard in which to run and play. The cabin had everything we could possibly want - even Dish TV for when it rained! The extra large porch was terrific, half under roof so if it did rain we could still be outdoors. We lacked for nothing in the kitchen and made most of our meals in - also using the very nice grill that is located on the porch. We loved it so much that we booked a week for July of next year before even checking out!

Teammate reunion

  • 5 of 5

This lodge is very cute and comfortable for a group of 10 people. It's well kept well and spacious and the owners are friendly and accommodating. The lodge is far enough away that you can't really bother anyone with music or being too loud and the scene is beautiful. Myself and my guests were extremely happy with our stay and plan on staying there again in the future.
