About Doug Corsmeier

Doug and Nicole live local in downtown Huntington Beach. In March, 2017 we celebrated our 26 year wedding anniversary and have 6 children, 5 boys, 1 girl, and yes the girl is the youngest. Doug works in finance and Nicole aside from being a Full time Mom is a business owner and 2nd year Law student. Nicole's undergrad degree is a Bachelor of Art and interior Design, hence her eye for nice decor.

Why Doug Corsmeier chose Newport Beach

We owned an initial VRBO right off PCH in Huntington Beach but the city does not allow weekly rentals, so we sold that property and settled into the BP area. Prior to HB property being purchased we tried to buy on Balboa Peninsula but not good properties were available. A single family home is also more desirable than a duplex, as this present home is zoned R2 where an original duplex once stood.

What makes this house unique

Location to Bay Beach and Ocean is excellent and mid distance on the narrowest part of Peninsula in between Balboa and Newport Piers.

Beautiful! Excellent location. Wonderful gathering place for a family reunion of 10!

Every one of our 10 person family gave this rental an excellent, top rating! We loved it!! Each room is beautifully decorated and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The soundproofing is excellent so you are not disturbed if you have activity on the main floor while someone needs to sleep. You are close to either the ocean or harbor--within a few steps. The peninsula has a trolley service that picks up one block away to travel to popular restaurants and the Fun Zone or nearby piers. We did it all and had a wonderful trip!!

Beautiful home! Excellent for a large family!

The photos do not do it justice. This home is really nice and was perfect for our family of twelve. It was big enough for all of us to have enough space to be together and to have personal time as well. We cooked all of our meals there and were never in each other's way.

If I were to go again I would bring a few extra pots and pans, including a 13x9" pan, some bowls, and some measuring spoons. Bring extra towels and a Swiffer for the floor as well. These were our only "complaints" or "wish we would have known".

The location is nice. You are across the street from a private beach on the bay and one block from the ocean beach and bike trail. The house is halfway between the Fun Zone and the Newport Pier so you can ride your bikes everywhere. It was our favorite family vacation!

We do a regular inventory of the home, but because of great guests like you, and we mean that sincerely, we appreciate bringing things such as this to our attention, as we take pride in wanting to provide a very nice rental for all guests. The home is fully furnished, but we have now since replaced or added onto all items you mentioned plus new floor fan, swiffer with wet wipes, pans, kitchen items, and such. Having a variety of guests stay, any rental property experiences attrition, and we are glad we can keep the home in the best like new condition possible. Lovely home and great location

This home is very well kept and the format is wonderful. Each bedroom has their own bathroom. Bikes available for use. Houe is well stocked with necessary items. Owner is pleasant and very available without being invasive. Loved the location and proximity to the beach and short walk to town.

Everything you could want and more!

I almost hate witting a good review- this house is like the perfect gem that you don't want to share with anyone because you want to keep it to yourself! I brought my family of 7 here and it was the perfect lay out for us. This house has everything you can need including upscale appliances. There are 4 bedrooms that have their own bathrooms plus a powder bath downstairs. In our group was 3 adults and 4 kids ranging from 12-17. There is plenty of space for everyone, you can go to the second floor and enjoy quiet time by the fireplace underneath the canopy. The kids rode the bikes (5 beach cruisers Doug has in the garage) up to the Fun Zone (just a short ride up the street) and up/down the beach paths a block over. This was great- it kept them entertained most of the trip! There is also a Foosball table in the garage and everyone enjoyed playing that. The house can accommodate a really large amount of people. During our stay we had an additional (6 people) family that came out for the day. We grilled on the BBQ that is provided and enjoyed our time visiting with out feeling cramped. The house is located close to everything you need. The fun zone is just down the street, beach path to walk or ride bikes is a block over, grocery store is a 5 minute drive and there are lots of restaurants and bars 5 minutes either direction.

We did have a few small issues when we first got to the house but I contacted Doug and he came over immediately to assist us. Doug is super friendly and he has a gorgeous house that we can not wait to come back to!

Clean and spacious home with updated features

This was the perfect spot for a girls weekend trip! The house is located very close to the beach, has plenty of open space for cooking together and sharing meals, and comfortable beds for sleeping. We really enjoyed our time here and I am looking forward to coming back sometime!

Beautiful home, steps away from the beach. House was great to getaway with friends for a weekend.

Loved it. Owner was always responsive and flexible in order to ensure we had the best time possible. House is in a great location on the Balboa Peninsula just steps from the beach. A nice stroll gets you to the Balboa Fun Zone or pier. The house itself is very well apppinted, comfortable, and impeccably clean. Patios were a great gathering place -especially in evenings with the fire pit. Highly recommend this house!

Due to the challenges of pleasing All Guests preferences in bath soap and shampoo, we have found it simplest for Guests to provide their own. Each of the four bedroom bathrooms have a hair dryer, and there is an iron and ironing board in the 3rd level master closet. Their is also a new full size washer / dryer set and all guests must provide their own laundry detergent. Kitchen soaps and bath room soft soaps are provided. We also provide approx. 5 beach towels per guests stay.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
