Welcome to our Twin Lakes cabin. We purchased 18 acres in 1998 and built in 2004. The property stretches eastward down to the road and west to the Aspen Grove you see at the intersection of County Road 10/ E E Hill Drive and Reva Ridge Road. When our girls were younger they had great fun looking for bones in the aspen grove, then throwing them back for next time! Spending time here with family and friends is always a good time so we hope you enjoy your stay!
Holly and family
Holly & Jeff Stever purchased this cabin in 1998
Holly and Jeff,
I wanted to thank you both for sharing your vacation house with us.
We enjoyed the comfort of the house, the ever changing views of the mountains, the cool temperatures away from the heat wave in Boulder, the hummingbirds and the chipmunks!
Along with us, my sister and her family (visiting from France) really did appreciate using the house as base camp for day trips in the high country.
Above everything, the calm and the silent nights made all of us very lucky!
Jeff and Holly meet us at the scheduled time and was very welcoming during our initial walk through. They were very polite and receptive with communications clarifying questions with operations of the house. Su and I highly recommend this property. It was very comfortable, warm, and relaxing. It is conveniently located about 25 minutes from Ski Cooper and 15 minutes from Leadville. There were many areas to enjoy riding the side-by-side on plowed and unplowed roads. We had an incredible Christmas with our family.
We absolutely loved our vacation home. It was a perfect getaway for the women while the men were hunting elk. The garage was perfect for their gear, etc.. We would love to stay here again. Thank you for allowing us to use this beautiful house. Jesse & Anna Ruth
My family and I enjoyed staying here for a week. The home's proximity to trails, Twin Lakes and Leadville was perfect for our stay.
Our group stayed at Jeff and Holly Stever's chalet for our recent Leadville cycling event in early August and absolutely loved our stay!
Their property is gorgeous and well maintained as advertised. I was warmly greeted by the owner on our first day and was shown around the home. It is tastefully decorated and spacious, affording gorgeous views in all directions. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the deck level hummingbird feeder which constantly fed a large local population of these beautiful little birds.
The kitchen is well stocked and perfect for cooking meals for a large group and includes a sit-up bar table as well as a traditional dining table.
The main and bottom floor levels contained working gas log flame furnaces for keeping the chill down on cold nights.
The main level boasts a large wrap around type deck with numerous comfortable chairs and a well maintained gas grill. The large sliding glass doors with screens afford awesome views from anywhere on the main level.
All of the bedrooms have comfortable beds adorned with clean, soft flannel sheets which were perfect for our chilly nights.
Each bathroom was also clean, spacious and functional, and included an ample supply of clean, fresh towels and bath linens.
The rental includes a large garage for storing items such as our bikes as well as a washroom for doing laundry.
On the kitchen bar table the owners have put together a booklet which contains a treasure trove of information about the local area as well as the ins-and-outs of the rental, including numbers to reach them in case of any questions about the home or property. During our stay I had a question about using the fireplaces and my call to the owners was returned promptly and my questions were answered.
If you are looking for privacy with a sense of remoteness, but with convenient travel to nearby towns, this is the perfect rental!
We visited the last week of July. This is a fairly new log home that sits at the end of a gravel drive off a winding gravel road. It would be great for anyone who is looking for a get-away-from-it-all quiet vacation. Very different from the more popular tourist areas which tend to be pretty crazy in the summer. Two things to mention: first, the house sits at 9500 feet. Although we thought we took precautions, several of us suffered with altitude sickness. so be careful of that. Also, we had a toddler with us and there was no good safe place for him to play. The inside of the house has a lot of stairs, and the property outside has lots of drop-offs, so we had to watch him constantly. Older children would be fine though. We did enjoy our stay... the scenery is breathtaking and Holly was a very good hostess.
Property was just as described in the listing. Would recommend it to family and friends. Would try to stay there again if the opportunity arises. Only drawback was having to deal with trash at the end of our stay. Still, it was worth the hassle to stay at the Stever's "home away from home"!!! Thank you!
