Pleasingly decorated inside, this condo features a vista of tropical garden and beach. The large tiled patio offers comfortable furniture, a Morracan tile table and beach gear storage.
The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, and cooktop. An a array of accessories are available, along with a full sized refrigerator.
The condo also comes with full resort access to Flamingo Marina Resort with its world famous Monkey Bar. No actual monkeys there now as the naughty things had a fondness for beer, sugar and guest's sunglasses. The Monkey Bar and restaurant has a full menu for all meals.
The living room features 2 leather couches, a desk, TV, DVD and cable TV with. HBO.
The two bedrooms have large comfortable beds with linens and towels provided.
Our property manager Jorge Mendez will greet you on arrival and ensure your comfort. He will provide you with his contact information and offers to help with tours or other local information.
Our goal as owners is that you will love this Paradiso as much as we do!
Now retired, my husband and I are both medical professionals who sought a quiet, warm respite from snowy Pennsylvania. We have found that and more here in Playa flamingo Costa Rica!
Patricia Foley Thomas purchased this condo in 1996
It was love at first sight. We were traveling around this beautiful country and found this special spot. We were not even looking to buy a condo, but once I saw the view I knew that I really wanted to make this our home away from home. Our children honeymooned here and now the grandkids love the beach!
For me it is all about the view. When we leave to travel to the rainforest or go to a volcanic mud spa, there is always a thrill when I first see the view of this lovely beach.
This is a very affordable, unique family vacation spot, but my children think it is the most romantic place on earth.
I think some things have changed since Patricia owned it. We received notice that she had sold however the new owners would honour her bookings. When we arrived, everything was in order. We were met by a representative of the management company and unfortunately she had just been told a couple hours before our arrival that we were coming. She worked her butt off though to get the condo ready.
We stayed there with our two children. This was our fourth VRBO in our four week vacation and unfortunately our least favourite. There was no wifi first of all even though Patricia suggested that we be compensated - we weren't. Luckily there was wifi upstairs in the lobby so we had to walk 6 flights of stairs to use it. We rely on Tripadvisor so wifi was important. We were there for 6 days and it was never fixed. Would have been easy to purchase a dial up one.
We were looking forward to going to the Monkey Bar while the kids slept however it was SHUT DOWN and it looks as if it had been this way for awhile. The advertisement for this condo should change their write up.
The manager of the hotel area stated that our kids weren't allowed to use the pools because we were in a condo not the hotel area....even though the hotel was vacant. We ignored him and received some dirty looks. Oh well. I asked why the whole hotel was vacant. I know we were just at the end of the off season but it was odd that there was no one there. The manager stated that the place is now a time share.
I asked if we could borrow the kayaks that were chained to the trees not being used and the manager said no that they were just for timeshare people. When I offered to pay for them...his mind changed. He said it would be $10 american.
The area was pretty and the private beach was nice. We took the kids to Playa Flamingo and they loved the waves. Great food at CocoLoco. We spent a day surfing at Playa Grande and visited Playa Conchal.
Unfortunately, we will not be back.
Patricia is great to work with. We made our reservation a year in advance and then had to push it back one week due to newly scheduled kids' softball tournaments. She was very understanding and flexible. Two months out she contacted us to offer us penalty-free cancellation because the resort next door is under construction/for sale. We didn't care but very much appreciate her transparency and heads up.
We stayed mid-August for a week. The property is clean, well kept, and comfortable. The best part is the beach that's just steps away from the condo. It is beautiful and fantastic for snorkeling, tide pools, exploring, etc. Plus, we practically had it all to ourselves since we were there during off season.
We also loved the close proximity to Playa Flamingo and the little beach town. We walked everywhere aside from our arranged excursion to the rain forest and two inexpensive taxi rides - one to the bigger grocery store and the second to Brasilito.
Two nearby restaurants worthy of your patronage are Angelina's and La Cuchara. The best spot for quality, Costa Rican (not made in China) souvenirs is Bahia Art Shop. They offer much better finds than anything we found in Brasilito. All three of these places are right there in Flamingo.
THANK YOU, PATRICIA! You've got yourself an amazing little spot!
We really enjoyed our vacation, the condo location, and the fact that it was very close to the beach. Flamingo beach is quiet but not too quiet. It is close enough to some attractions (Tamarindo, Pura Vida- bikes and other activities at Las Catalinas, zip line, and some nice restaurants)- but not too close. You can use the pool of the monkey bar just right the condos, and what else do you need (price? I am not sure you can find cheaper!). Go for it.
Perfect - lots of wildlife right out the patio doors. We planned on coming in a couple days early prior to meeting a group-were scheduled to arrive at Liberia airport after 8PM but with plane delays did not arrive until next day at noon. They worked with me through all the delays even though plans kept changing. Wonderful! Helped us de-stress by being so flexible about meeting for check in. Everything was just as described. Clean and comfortable.
My family really enjoyed Patricia's condo during our stay in Flamingo. My wife, two kids (2 and 5) as well as my sister stayed for 4 days. The porch is very private, and we really enjoyed the view and how close the beach was for a quick dip. We spent most our time at Playa Conchal, Playa Flamingo, and the pool. The pool was great for young children because it was completely shaded after 3 or 4 pm. With the intensity of the sun, this is a huge plus. There is also almost a 180 degree view of the ocean from the pool-stunning! The AC was a lifesaver in the 100+ heat. We had all the kitchen appliances we needed, and the condo was clean when we arrived. It would have been nice to have a little welcome binder with some information in it, but we figured everything out alright.
The second room has a window (4'x3'?) that is open to the living room area of the condo. That would have been nice to know just how open it was. There are shades for privacy, but they don't block out the light from the inside of the room. Not good for young kids to sleep in this room as the noise just goes right in. We ended up having our kids sleep in the Master
The condo was smaller than I expected, but we didn't spend much time inside so we didn't mind. The listing says it's for up to 5 people: one of those will have to sleep on a leather couch. This information was provided ahead of time and so I wasn't surprised. They did provide bedding for the couch. I do appreciate, though, that it is even an option to put someone on the couch! One cool thing is that the Coast Guard is right across the street from where the car is parked... made me feel pretty good about leaving it there.
All in all, we had a great trip!
Right on the ocean with a nice little beach and good snorkeling just steps from the condo. The condo was very nice with an amazing ocean view, clean and well-maintained. The restaurant at the hotel was closed because it was the very slow season, but a couple of good restaurants down the hill: Angelina's and Marie's and a great smoothie/sandwich shop open for breakfast and lunch, Cuchara Verde, next to the little market. Lazy Lizard sunset cruise is a must. (recommended by the owner of the condo) Also did two tours with Ecotrans: the wetlands tour and a day tour to Volcano Arenal with guide, Jey, who was awesome.
My favorite pastime while visiting this beachfront condo is sitting on the patio, watching the parrots in the trees and seeing fish jump in the bay. If it's adventure I want, I call Ecotrans Costa Rica, who will take me to the rain forest, volcanoes, zip lining or to surf or yoga, lessons. The best place to shop is Tamarindo, about 20 minutes by car or taxi. There I can watch surfers while I enjoy my lunch, hunt for souvenirs or just people watch. Wherever I go I am always glad to get home to my quiet little condo.
