Wonderful time in the Flagstaff Area!
My family and I, fourteen in all, had a wonderful time in Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona. This home was so spacious and gave us plenty of room to relax and enjoy each other. The weather was unseasonably hot and so the daytime temperatures were pretty warm in the main house. The owners provided box fans that helped to circulate the outside air and mornings and evenings were cool and comfortable. Most of the daytime hours were spent away from the house exploring and by evening things began to cool down and we spent them on the decks enjoying the scenery and watching the kids explore and play. A terrific time was had by all.
Loved this house
Loved the house and location! Unfortunately, the weather was very hot in Flagstaff and this house does not have refrigeration, so that was the only thing that made it uncomfortable. Would definitely stay there again in cooler weather.
I would like to give this experience a fair review so here we go: All in all this home is spacious and on a beautiful piece of property. There is plenty of room and amenities so perfect for a large get together (we had 11 people). The downside was that the guest house was not cleaned before we got there, I had to clean the bathroom myself while there was still hair in the shower! The hot tub area really needed to be cleaned as there were cobwebs everywhere but that was an easy fix. The TV, internet and cable was not working when we arrived which didn't get fixed until the next day (I had young kids and teens with me so what do you do without either?), nor did we have any hot water for showers (graduation was 9am the next morning!). The hot water heater was not on and then kept turning off throughout our stay. I called the owner and asked that she come right away and try to fix it. There is no air condition in the main house and with the skylights it gets very warm throughout the day. We had a small graduation party and it was hot! When reading the amenities it does say air conditioning, not sure why. The guest house has air but is a very old unit and does nothing.
The house itself is situated on a beautiful piece of property and the amount of wildlife is so amazing getting to watch while sipping coffee in the morning.
Again, the owner was very nice and tried to answer all concerns. I just felt that the concerns could have been avoided if these things were checked before move in. I gave the review of 4 stars because it wouldn't a I had a wonderful time with family and friends and we had a lot of room and didn't feel crowded. I don't think it was worth the $500 per night as I have stayed in much nicer homes for less BUT if the home was updated then it could be.
Thank you for your review. We do apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. We have spoken with our housekeeper and have had the water heater serviced. The issue with the internet/cable was a glitch with the provider and not something under our control. I have added an additional line in the property description regarding the air conditioning only in the guest apartment. There is also a line regarding this in the amenities section of the listing. Congratulations to your graduate!
Awesome Family Holiday Weekend
If you have a large group of people. This is the home you need. We have 26 people in our family, so we rented 2 homes less than a mile apart. 14 slept at this one and 12 at the other. We chose this home because we were having a Family Holiday Weekend. Christmas, Halloween, Valentines & Easter all in one weekend. We did all meals and activities at this one. The floor plan is open and Spacious, allowing for individual groups to do different activities and still all be together. Space and things for the little kids to do. Room for the teenagers to hang out and play games. The adults can hang out together and still keep an eye on them all. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals. The 2 islands give you plenty of space to work and set out meals. Bedrooms are nice and bathrooms are conveniently located thru out the home. Parking is all flat and plenty of space. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed so much laughter, fun and family time at this house, that we did not go anywhere else to hang out together. No one wanted to go home.
Best Family Weekend Ever
Beautiful home with everything you need
I took a big group of people to stay in the cabin and it was perfect. It had everything we needed and the owner was super friendly and easy to get ahold of. We had more than enough room for our big group, and we were comviently located close to everything we wanted to see. Highly recommended!
Spacious Well-kept home, perfect for a large family retreat
Our family of eight adults, two teenagers and four Little ones really enjoyed the spaciousness of Kimberlie’s home. The separate guesthouse worked out well for the family with older children. The photographs do not do justice to how large the combined kitchen/dining/living space is! It allowed adults to be playing games around the dining table while little ones were playing in another part of the living space. We used the fireplace and Kimberlie was very responsive about bringing over some firewood. The bedroom situation in the main house fit the needs of the families with small children. The walk-in closet in the master bedroom was large enough to serve as a bedroom for a three-year-old, with the pack and play that Kimberlie provided. (The one “oddity “ is that the “office/bedroom” with a double futon has one of the attached bathrooms, while two bedrooms that can sleep a total of six people share a full double bathroom. It worked out for us but is probably not the most efficient placement of the bathrooms.)
The kitchen was well stocked and we loved having a gas range. It was also handy to have a pantry off the kitchen and two islands in the kitchen, one of them went seating.
Kimberlie went out of her way to help us get into the house before the usual check in time. She actually met us at the house and showed us around.
We all used the hot tub, which is enclosed, and appreciated that it was already warm.
Thanks to Kimberlie for providing an environment in which our family could enjoy just being together.
Flagstaff is a mecca for hikers and mountain bike enthusiasts. The Fisher Point Trailhead is a short walk from the home. Many other trails are a few minutes drive. Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, and the Grand Canyon are less than 80 miles away.
