I am a third generation Coronado resident, because my 1920's Spanish home was purchased by my Grandparents in 1936. I am a retired aerospace engineer/spec home builder and my wife is a French teacher. Both of us love beautiful architecture, history, and the island life, so we are quite at home here in Coronado. My wife was a hotel Concierge for many years and both of us love to offer recommendations for leisure time in Coronado and San Diego.
We met while doing our undergraduate work at the University of Southern California...GO Trojans. I completed a masters in engineering at San Diego State Univ. while Signe went on to graduate studies at Occidental Univ.
We have both lived in Southern Calif. most of our lives and have extensive knowledge of the many things the area has to offer.
George Shinn purchased this house in 1936

This house was exactly what we were looking for! My siblings are quite spread out and we rented this house as a destination reunion spot. The owners were amazingly welcoming and accommodating to our very large group. We were all able to fit in comfortably and had a wonderful time. The location is fabulous and the house lovely. I'm certain we'd all recommend this home!
Wonderful home and lovely people. Highly recommended!
What a wonderful stay we had the first few weeks of June! The house is a beautiful and inviting home and easily within biking distance to Coronado beach and downtown. The owners were very quick to address any concerns we had and in fact had the piano tuned so that our daughter could play for us! They had even placed fresh flowers in many of the rooms for our arrival. We look forward to staying here again and highly recommend this home!
We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend and were not disappointed. The house is gorgeous and impeccably maintained. They had everything you could need! We had a total of 10 guests and there was plenty of space for everyone. Close enough to the beach and town to reach with a nice walk and close enough to downtown San Diego to get a cab. The owners are fantastic and incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend this house, it's perfect.
My family and I stayed here for my law school graduation weekend and it could not have been more perfect. The owners are wonderful people and we felt so welcomed, and the house accommodated our party of 11 perfectly. The large family room was the perfect setting for group family photos and the backyard was a wonderful gathering place for us all. I will recommend it all my friends and family!
This beautiful, historic, charming Spanish home has so much to offer. Our family was able to create so many amazing memories during our stay. The home came fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. We were able to cook meals in the kitchen, enjoy our meals in the formal dining room, barbecue in the backyard, bike to the beach, and relax comfortably in the charming backyard. The location of the home is perfect. Checking-in and checking-out was a breeze. I should also mention, the hosts were kind enough to allow our four-legged baby to stay with us as well. The hosts are beyond helpful and respond quickly to any questions or concerns. Highly recommended!!!!
