About Kent Montgomery

I started vacationing in Hood River in 1987 for the windsurfing and mountain biking. I moved to Portland in 1992 from Berkeley, CA to be closer to the gorge and to escape the rat race. I worked in Portland for 20 years and retired in December of 2013. I still enjoy windsurfing, cycling, swimming, backpacking and just about anything involving the outdoors.

Andrea works for the Forest Service in Washington and enjoys running with our 2 dogs, Monty and Nacho. We live in Trout Lake, WA.

Kent Montgomery purchased this house in 2003

Why Kent Montgomery chose Mt. Hood, The Gorge

I purchased the home in 2003 for a vacation home and it was one of the best decisions that I have made. I recently retired and decided to let others enjoy the property while I live up by Mt Adams. I used to love waking up to the view of Mt Adams while I enjoyed my coffee.

What makes this house unique

The deck is situated between the living room and the master bedroom with access via sliding doors. The deck is protected from the wind with ample amount of sun and shade. There are large picturesque windows in the living room and master bedroom.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Kent was very gracious in hosting us at the last minute. We appreciated the size and layout of the kitchen and dining area, as well as bbq on the deck. It was a great place to stop during an extended road trip to make our own food and do laundry.

Wonderful, perfect place!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay. The home was beautiful, with thoughtful instructions and amenities throughout the house. Beds were comfortable. Location ideal with a great mountain view. We enjoyed seeing the neighborhood cats who patrolled the neighborhood. The house was immaculate.

We were within a good distance of Safeway, restaurants , and nice shopping. My family learned to sail board this weekend, too!!! Thank you for sharing your lovely home!!!!

Great Option in Hood River

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at this rental. Kent was very helpful and his house was clean and inviting. The private patio is a nice feature of the home. Short drive to the grocery store and downtown. We would rent it again. :-)
