This cabin stands out primarily because of its setting. It is located on a quiet cove surrounded by nature including many forms of wildlife: ducks, herons and many other birds (including wild turkeys); chipmunks and squirrels; raccoons; possums; deer; foxes; etc.
The cabin itself features a large front deck and patio just 50 feet from water’s edge. Guests enjoy a beautiful view of the cove and the natural area beyond as well as private access to a 3-well uncovered dock and swimming area. For those with boats (available to rent at a nearby marina), the dock provides access to greater Lake of the Ozarks with all of the activities and amenities it affords. A public boat launching area is located less than 3 miles from the property or at a marina even closer.
Recently renovated, the cabin includes an open space kitchen and living area with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, two bedrooms and a bath. A hide-a-bed and inflatable mattress in the living area expand indoor sleeping capacity to eight persons, and outdoor tables and chairs on the deck and patio expand dining options beyond the kitchen bar with stools. A charcoal BBQ grill is available on the patio. While the cottage is air conditioned and includes a flat screen television with entertainment options, it does not include a dishwasher so guests are put “back in touch” with the satisfactions of warm soapy water, rinsing, and stacking dishes in a rack to dry!
To access the cabin by water, it is located at the back of Chimney Cove at the Lake’s 13 mile marker just across the main channel from Lodge of Four Seasons. By land, it is located in Shawnee Bend Subdivision #3 just off of County Route MM across from the future west entrance to The Villages—turn north at Shawnee Bend Cemetery. This means the cabin is only a 10 minute drive across the Community Bridge from Osage Beach where guests will find fine and casual dining, all kinds of shopping including the Osage Beach Outlet Mall, miniature golf, go carts and much more. The cottage is only 8 miles from Lake of the Ozarks State Park.
Before closing, it should be mentioned that there is a level lawn area near the dock and on the east side of the cabin along an extension of the driveway. This opens the possibility of sleeping more than the eight people who can be accommodated in the cabin itself. There is an extra charge of $10/day per tent or $20/day per RV vehicle.
