ONE OF A KIND RACQUET CLUB MEISELMAN
Complete ground up renovation of this incredible three bedroom, two bath Mid-Century Modern Meiselman, completed in February of 2014. Zen Modern Minimal Interior with one-off details throughout, polished concrete floors, gas fireplace, modern custom kitchen (fully stocked), walk in showers, flat screen TV's, unique/original art, and quality designer appointed furnishings . Breathtaking unobstructed view of Mount San Jacinto from the very private rear yard area, which includes a completely remodeled pool with integrated sun deck, in ground Jacuzzi and large lawn area. Our home is located in the historic Racquet Club East Neighborhood on a fantastic quiet street surrounded completely by other Mid Century Meiselman and Alexander homes.
This home was renovated with extreme attention to the details as a second home for our family, not simply as another typical vacation rental. This is overwhelmingly apparent as soon as you step foot through the front door.
***We are currently vacation renting the home to others to enjoy when we are not in town. Be one of the first to experience this one-of-a-kind home. This house is great for family get-aways, or a small group of friends sneaking away for some down time.

The perfect retreat for our family!
My husband & I visited Palm Springs for the first time with our 3 little ones in tow. The Starr house was the perfect retreat for our family to relax by the pool, play in the yard, and also drive to downtown palm springs within minutes. We enjoyed numerous great restaurants, but the kitchen at the house was also well stocked to prepare meals there. The 3 bedrooms & common spaces were the perfect size & set up for our family of 5. We sat out by the pool in the mornings and stared at the sunrise coming up on the mountains- breathtaking view! It did get quite windy in the evenings blowing leaves & palm branches etc throughout the yard but nothing that we couldn't easily pick up quickly the next morning. There was also a grounds crew that came mid-week to do some landscaping maintenance & clean the pool. Our hosts were extremely friendly & responsive. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about our experience at the Starr House!
This place was ideal for a family with 3 kids. The layout is great, the pool was awesome. The house is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, yet it's close to downtown and other amenities.
Starr Rd Rental
We stayed at the Starr Rd house last week and had a great time, we used the house as our base and journeyed out to Joshua Tree and even LA for the weekend. Party of 4- 2 adults and 2 teens, and there was a perfect amount of space. We liked that each of the kids had their own room, and that there was a bathroom over by their bedrooms. The only negative I would say about the inside is that no one really liked the showers. Other than that, the beds were really comfortable/kitchen was stocked/enough seating/gorgeous fireplace. The location of the property was convenient, but it IS in the windier section of town. I had asked the owner about this prior to arriving and she did tell us that north Palm Springs tends to be windier. For this reason only, we would probably rent in an area further south next time. There were a few days where it was just too windy to enjoy the backyard and after the pool was a bit of a mess. Luckily there was a net so we cleaned as best we could. Also, the pool maintenance crew came out once during our stay so that really helped. The backyard was beautiful and we loved the mountain views from the back and in front of the house. We did wish there was a way to turn off some of the outside lights so we could enjoy the stars. We did have an issue with the pool and spa on the day we checked in. We could not get the hot tub to get hot. We texted back & forth with the house manager and while she was very responsive, she kept telling us that on her end it showed the hot tub was 101 degrees. We would go back out and stick a hand in, and it would be cold. This was a good hour back and forth. In that time I did email Norma (the owner) who confirmed that on her end she could see that the hot tub was not warming up. Turned out that the house manager was accessing the pool controls for a different rental home- lol. I am sure someone was wondering what the heck was going on with their hot tub. The owner had the pool guy come out the next morning and he fixed whatever was wrong. Also, when we got home from vacation there was a voicemail from the other owner- so it was nice...they were very attentive and responsive. All in all we had an awesome trip! The house was lovely, the neighborhood was nice & quiet, the views from the backyard were gorgeous, we love the pool & hot tub. The only reason we would choose a different house is to rent something in a less windy area.
As close to perfect as it gets
I'm not sure which was more enjoyable -- the process of renting the Starr House, or actually staying there. The owners and the property manager could not have been more responsive, including after I had arrived. The house is beautifully designed and appointed; as others have noted, the outdoor space is gorgeous (and private). Particular attention to lighting means that both the artwork indoors and the desert landscaping outside are shown to their maximum potential; this is the first place I've stayed at in Palm Springs where all the lighting works. I spent hours every evening out by the pool admiring the show -- first the ocotillos would light up, then the pool area, then the desert olive tree -- as the sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains. The interior and the yard are more than enough to keep you busy, but please also make time to admire the Starr House from the street: its crisp design and desert palette also reflect the great care that the owners have put into this home.
The location puts you closer to the mountains, and far enough north to watch the Air Tram making its way up and down at night. At the same time, Palm Canyon is just a couple blocks away, giving you easy access to downtown. You're also within easy walking distance of Vista Las Palmas and Chino Canyon in case you want to hike around those beautiful neighborhoods (which I did every morning).
There's not an amenity that the owners haven't thought of. If I had been more ambitious I could have cooked or grilled every day (instead I had my meals catered by Trader Joe's). To sum up, the Starr House was the perfect place for a relaxing week in the sun.
Great location and wonderful service
We visted Palm Springs with our kids this spring. The owners promptly replied and provided excellent guidance on family friendly hikes and other activities in the area. Whenever we had questions or needed assitance we received prompt and helpful guidance. Great place for a family to use a base to explore the area as well as hang out by the pool. We’ll come back.
Highly recommend this place.
Another Fantastic Week on Starr Road
We rented this house in 2015 and had such a great time that we came back again this year! The house is still as great as ever - very well finished and comfortable. The outdoor space is perfection and we never wanted to leave the pool or lounge chairs. The house manager is very responsive and the owners are great to deal with. Can't recommend this property enough!
