We are early birds so drinking coffee outside on the patio watching the sunrise was lovely. Walking distance (my hubby doesn't walk....and it was short enough for him) to several wonderful restaurants and such a great local market for breakfast. The trail to the beach is literally steps away; but still far enough that we didn't lose any of our privacy. We traveled with another couple; they stayed close to the Bay Course Clubhouse (and there place was also nice) but they didn't get the breezes, so they spent the evenings at our place. Clean, well-kept and very comfortable had everything necessary.....if you like to cook. Highly recommend this condo.

Great condo in Kapalua!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful stay here for 10 days from 5/10-5/20. The view is fabulous, the website pics don't do it justice. Everything works well, just need Time Warner to fix the connection for Netflix and Amazon from the TV in the living room. Other than that, it was five stars. Thanks Mike! ''

Maui on my mind

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Villa 1012 The Ridge at Kapalua. This is our 5 visit to the Ridges and we just love staying there. The Villa was wonderful. The view from 1012 is breathtaking. You can see the whales from the Lanai. The outdoor space is large and close to the pool and BBQ which we enjoyed daily. The unit is very spacious, nicely decorated with lots of amenities. Great to have the beach chairs, cooler and beach towels. Great trail system close by for running, walking or hiking. We kept busy with running the Lake Trail daily, snorkeling at Kapalua Bay- tons of turtles and hitting Flemming Beach for Boogie Boarding- best waves. Great restaurants close by however we chose to BBQ at the Ridges and enjoy the wonderful Villa and Lanai. Normally we split our time with one week in the south- Wailea and one week in Kapalua, however we enjoy the piece and quiet of Kapalua and decided to spend the entire time at Kapalua, and it was the best decision.

Mike & Madaline Abram were great to deal with in the entire booking process and followup.

Our entire stay was seamless. Thank you so much Mike & Madaline for sharing your Villa and for the lovely treats you provided for our arrival.

We will be back next year.

We have now stayed in this unit two years in a row and at The Ridge for more than 5 years and can honestly say we think its the BEST place to stay in all of Maui! Mike and Madeline are such welcoming hosts. They did everything possible to ensure our stay was perfect - provided Maui treats, left great notes, were accessible and provided everything in their condo for which we could have wished. We also like that Mike and Madeline are local owners and are invested in the Maui community. The condo is spaceous, clean, central and had everything we needed - big, comfortable bed, lots of towels, fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, out door furniture - we even found binoculars for whale watching and games tucked away in the cupboards. We love to walk and could easily access our morning latte, afternoon pool or beach adventure and had lots of amazing Happy Hour Restaurants at our disposal as well. Being up on The Ridge, it feels like there is almost always a breeze blowing, keeping this unit cool and comfortable without having to ever use the provided air conditioning. The views are stunning and we so appreciate having a little patch of grass off the lanai; we find that once we arrive, we don't have too many reasons to leave this little oasis.

Feels Like Home

  • 5 of 5

We are a retired couple who has stayed at the Golf Villas at least twice before. We stayed 31 days this trip. This was our first rental with Mike and Madeline and we certainly hope it won't be our last! From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. There was Kona coffee, fresh fruit, candy bars, Maui Chips, and bottled water waiting for us. We hadn't needed to stop at Napili Market before arriving in order to have a nighttime snack or breakfast. It was a kind gesture and a welcomed treat.

We like this location because it's easy walking to hotels, restaurants, beaches, markets and shopping and churches. It's a quiet location and once you arrive, you don't need a car every day. We enjoy walking every day and we are able to do so easily from this location.

The unit has a tremendous view of the ocean. We watched whales every day and enjoyed the lanai and very near access to the pool. It hasn't been updated and it still has circa '70's fixtures but everything worked fairly well. We had an issue with the garbage disposal and pipe leak but a repairman was sent out within hours to replace the unit. It wasn't a big deal for us.

There is a washer and dryer in the guest bathroom that we used regularly. There are ample linens and towels and beach equipment to use and even binoculars. We had rain a couple days and we enjoyed playing Yahtzee that we found in a drawer.

The only 2 complaints that I will mention are the light fixtures are rather dim and not good for reading. Of course if a couple is only staying a week or so, this might not be noticeable, but we were there for a month and we both read quite a bit. The other item is that the side chairs, in both the bedroom and living room are not very comfortable. The cushions slip if you put your feet on the footstools. The couch was cozy but no light near it for reading at night.

Mike and Madeline were easy to work with and very attentive to details. We definitely would recommend rental of their condo and we will contact them first when we return to Maui.

Owner's Response: Aloha Mary Ann , Mahalos for your nice comments , not really sure what you meant about the "70's " fixtures as we have replaced just about everything from appliances to toilets in the last year or so...but anyhow, that doesn't matter , we are happy you had a good time at our place for the month you were there.....and thanks for letting us know about the light bulbs and cushions , that's next ! Hope to see you folks next year.... Warm Alohas , Mike & Madaline

The property is very well maintained and with great ocean views.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. Mike was incredibly responsive and helpful to us in planning our trip. The property was fantastic - clean, comfortable and quiet. We are VERY discriminating travellers and this location absolutely made us happy. We would book again without hesitation. Beach access is very close and you can enjoy watching whales play from your private patio. The Ridge property itself is elegant, upscale and very well maintained. Overall, Kapalua is a lovely - great golf, quiet beaches, superb restaurant choices. If you are a discriminating traveller and like elegant surroundings book here.
