Great time- our second year- enjoyed by all. Thanks!
Not what we expected...
This is a beautiful home in breathtaking Breckinridge, but we had issues from the start. Driving for 2 days to get to our vacation home for the week, we arrived to no hot water and a “whistling” pipe, which made relaxing and sleeping almost impossible. So we had to turn the water off in order for the “whistling pipe” to stop. We contacted the property manager who sent a plumber out the next day (Saturday) which means our plans were on hold so we could let the plumber in. He seemed to have fixed the issue of the hot water, but the whistling pipe returned 2 days later. We had to turn the hot water off to get some respite. We had 6 adults and 8 kids staying in this home, and this wasn’t what we expected.
After talking to the homeowners and explaining the situation, they were sympathetic and said they would compensate us for all the trouble- we have yet to see any refund and it’s been 2 weeks.
We are disappointed in the lack of response from the owners and didn’t expect we’d have to deal with the plumbing issues while on our family vacation.
So sorry for the trouble. We have refunded $500 to the guests for their inconvenience for a problem that we tried to fix throughout their stay. Its been totally repaired and no more whistling pipes.
We hope you'll come again and enjoy our home which has consistently received rave reviews.
Beautiful home - perfect for two families.
Beautiful home with lovely decor. Amazing views but still close to town/skiing. We had a couple of non-urgent maintenance issues which were all corrected quickly (hot tub needed water, etc). Definitely need 4WD or AWD to reach the house during winter (our friend’s rental car couldn’t make it). The bunk beds in the basement could use some maintenance.
Great House for Family Share on Ski Vacation
This house was very big, very clean, nicely furnished and well-appointed. We really had no problems whatsoever. 4 adults and 4 kids stayed very comfortably. The kids loved the loft. Check-in/out was very easy. It's about 10 minutes drive to Main Street and Peak 9. The only thing to keep in mind is that you'll need a four-wheel drive and/or chains if you're going in the winter months. This house is way up there, and the road is very steep. The other family we stayed with never did manage to get their car to the house all week, and we had some trouble even in a Ford Expedition. Ubers weren't quite able to get all the way to the house, dropping us off down the road a bit. But otherwise, the house itself was perfect - thanks!
So sorry with your access troubles. We do state in our listing that 4-wheel drive vehicle is essential. Perhaps we need to include this info more prominently. The location of our home does allow for the outstanding views and vistas. Thanks for choosing our home!
Great house with plenty of amenities. Had everything we needed for an enjoyable trip. Plenty of space for 8 adults and 3 children. It was a short drive to main street and Breckenridge resort. Would definitely recommend this house.
Huge cozy home with everything you need
We loved our stay at the house. We had a large group of girls and came here for a relaxing work retreat. We probably did way more of the retreat thing than the work thing because the house was so wonderful. The view from the hot tub is so pretty, the beds are comfortable and the common spaces are huge and accommodating for a big group of people. Waking up in the morning we got to feel like we were outside with the large windows peeking out. We also did some morning yoga and just fell in love with inside/outside feel of the house. We really had a great trip and didn't want to leave this house. The house was great! I definitely want to come back.
Ten minutes from the historic downtown and Breckenridge ski slopes. Half hour drive to Copper Mountain, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin ski areas. Located on a secluded acre of land filled with aspens and huge pine trees. Fabulous views of the Ten Mile Range and the Ski Area. Walk to national forest trails with mining sites all along the way. Beautiful drive up gorgeous Boreas Pass Road takes you over the pass to quaint town of Como with historic railroad round-house and hotel (this is a summer & fall option). Short drive to the restored historic downtown filled with fabulous shops & restaurants. Stroll the Blue River placer mining ruins and restored waterway through the town. Take a short ride 20 minuted ride to quaint Frisco, Silverthorne's Outlet Shoppes, Lake Dillon's water recreation or to world-famous Vail. Or tour south over Hoosier Pass to old-west town of Fairplay in the renowned South Park basin.
