Guest apartment in the heart of Carroll Gardens

Bedrooms 2
Space 650 sq ft
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

2 bedroom, 1 bath with a modern kitchen and beautiful natural light.

Guests enjoy a charming two bedroom apartment above Brooklyn Farmacy, our storefront soda fountain, in family-friendly Carroll Gardens.

Enjoy the neighborhood from the privacy of your corner room with a view, or pop downstairs to mingle with the regulars at the fountain counter. A favorite with locals and tourists alike, the Brooklyn Farmacy is a prohibition-era drug store restored as an ice cream parlor. Pete & Gia, sibling proprietors, live in the building and will be your hosts and neighbors.

The guest apartment is a lovely, sun-drenched, second floor suite, comfortably furnished and seductively simple. Two bedrooms offer full size brass beds, luxurious bedding, and plenty of closet or wardrobe space. Sleep two more on the living room sleeper sofa. The single bathroom is tastefully tiled and the water is plenty hot! The modern kitchen is stocked with cooking needs and complimentary coffee, tea and seltzer from the Farmacy.

Carroll Gardens is one of Brooklyn’s most desirable locations. You will be blocks away from the restaurants and boutiques of Court Street as well as the artisanal shops and bars of Smith Street. Take the kids to play at the fabulous Pier Six, take in a concert at Brooklyn Bridge Park or walk the Brooklyn Heights esplanade for great views of the Manhattan skyline. Spas, movie theaters, farmer’s markets, salons, banks and dry cleaners are abundant. A fifteen minute subway ride on the F train gets you to Manhattan and a slightly longer one takes you to Coney Island and the beach.

Enjoy the 21st century buzz of Brooklyn while stepping back into time. Send the kids down to the soda fountain to spin on the red twirling stools, play checkers, and sip egg creams at the end of the day. If you're visiting friends and family in the area, you'll have a great place to meet and greet.

TV/wifi access. Heating and AC.

Wonderful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 had a great time staying in this apartment. Carroll Gardens is a quiet, family friendly neighborhood that provided a wonderful respite from our busy days sightseeing in NYC. Gia was a wonderful host.

Beautiful apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We visited Brooklyn, and stayed in this sweet apartment in a lovely neighborhood. The apartment was perfect for the four of us. The beds were so comfortable and welcoming after a long day of touring New York City. Be sure to visit the Farmacy downstairs for ice cream- you won't be sorry! Thanks Gia!

A Different Kind of Experience

  • 3 of 5

The location for us was excellent, right in the heart of a.great and friendly family town. We needed that location to attend an event for my grandchild and my husband and I brought our son, daughter in law along with their two small children who were small enough to sleep on a comfortable easy sofa bed. The other two bedrooms had comfortable queen beds with great bedding, but it is an odd apt. And to get to the bathroom, living room and kitchen I had to go through my sons bedroom. The apt. Is above a well known and used ice cream shop which the kids loved, but the rocking music didn’t stop until after 11–12 sm. Very loud with a boom boom feeling. It really bothered me. Kitchen was very nice and meals could be made but in NY most go out to eat. It was a good place for our purposes but at my age a hotel is more mansgeable. The owner was wonderful and I feel badly about criticizing but the noise of the street and of the ice cream/cafe was not good. If I were younger I guess I would have tolerated it better. I am 71 years old so the steep long stairs were also an issue.

Perfect location for visit to NYC!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was perfect for my wife, myself and adult daughter for our visit. Gia was there to meet us and was always available to answer any questions we had. The location was perfect for us, we did not rent a car, instead used Uber from LaGuardia and then utilized the train for getting around. The nearest train station was a short walk from the apartment and took us everywhere from Coney Island to Times Square. The apartment was clean and cozy, grocery store, laundry all within the block, also many restaurants and pubs in the Carroll Gardens area. Wonderful neighborhood, cannot wait to visit again when weather is warmer!

Perfect place for family of 6!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is just as it seems in the pictures and is perfect for a family of 6 (we have 4 boys under the age of 9)! Gia and her husband Erez were so accommodating and super sweet! On our recent trip in Feb to visit family in a New York we decided to give VRBO a try since we normally stay with family on our visits but this was such a nice treat that we might have to do it every visit! The bedrooms were comfortable and it was nice to have a kitchen to cook breakfast and such. We love Carroll Gardens! Super safe and so many great parks (the Brooklyn bridge park is amazing with beautiful views of the Manhattan and Carroll Park is great for littles and older kids), great coffee shops, great restaurants (Frankie’s 457, Prime Meats, Buttermilk Chanel, Lucali’s pizzeria, Cotta Bene pizzeria, to name a few), great dessert places (Brooklyn Farmacy, Ample Hill Creamery, The Chocolate Room) and super close to the city with easy access via train or taxi/uber. We rented a car since we would be visiting family and friends all over and it was easy to find parking near the apartment. We would highly recommend this apartment!
