The charm and personality of a spacious family home. The glittering blue Gulf view from the rocking chairs on the deck, and warm sand a few steps across the road. Shops, restaurants and music in downtown Gulf Shores a few blocks away; privacy and quiet when you come home. Free WiFi for Internet surfing -- and shelves full of novels and back issues of the National Geographic when you want to unplug.
There are three personalized bedrooms, all with ceiling fans, TVs, DVDs and streaming services. Two are queen-sized and sunny. One is a king-sized master suite of rooms that can be closed off for privacy. Built in the '40s and a survivor of Hurricane Frederick in 1980 - and every hurricane since - the suite's walls and ceilings are paneled in original pine and it has its own air conditioner, huge ceiling fan, and separate bath.
Other features include a CD-iPod player, a dining table seating six, three baths, a complete kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, a Keurig and a regular coffeemaker, a breakfast bar, a washer and dryer, ceiling fans on the deck and plenty of space to unpack.
The parking for four vehicles is free, there are no elevators to wait on, and the deck is the best seat in town during festivals and fireworks.
Come to the Heron House -- for the best of both worlds at the beach.
