|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Nestled among centenary trees lies this well seasoned cottage atop the beach, a few feet below, with amazing views. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house, with fully equipped kitchen, has three different type beaches within less than a 10 minute walk. Still more secluded beaches a very short drive away. And the Caribbean Sea is less than 40 steps from your bed, providing you with an almost private little space to enjoy the tranquil waves that will lull you to sleep at night.
Take breathtaking walks down the Dry Forest, go scuba diving, discover our small piece of paradise, as this is our home away from home. Or simply lie on the dock while the sun sets, enjoying the most spectacular Caribbean show, and finish your day with the amazing night sky. Scuba services, kayaks and jet-ski rentals, banana-boat rides, restaurants, convenience store, even a Chapel with Sunday Mass within walking distance. Drive to La Parguera (a nearby fishing village) during the day and rent a boat to the smaller mangrove cays, or at night and visit the Bioluminiscent bay. Further west, Cabo Rojo, with its wonderful light house and impressive cliffs. Ponce, the second most important city of Puerto Rico, is about a 30 minute drive away, with its museums, plaza, and golf course. You will not drive more than 3 hours in any direction on the island.
Air conditioned rooms (if you don’t mind missing the night sounds) with ceiling fans, fresh and hot water; BBQ, TV, DVD, movies, board games, more. If you need anything else, just contact us.
Villa Nana is 2 hours from the Aeropuerto Internacional Luis Muñoz Marin (SJU); 35 minutes from the Ponce Mercedita Airport (PSE). NO PASSPORT REQUIRED
We are the Gautier-Castro family. We met each other here in Playa Santa (as the beach is informally known), Guanica, where we have been vacationing almost every weekend since childhood. We like traveling the world and still have much to visit. Our children are in college in Boston, MA and Tempe, AZ, respectively. So we decided it is time to share our privilege of enjoying this house by the sea with others. We love the outdoors, and this place has much to offer. You may stay secluded and relax; or you may walk, swim, and experience the area until you just need to relax to resupply your energy. Either way, we are sure you are going to have a wonderful time.
We love making new friends, so, if you want, we can meet you at the airport or drop by while you enjoy your stay. We are very environmentally conscious so we hope you join us in recycling glass, plastic and aluminum bottles and carton in the provided bins. Please contact us for any other request you may have. We will make every effort to please your requirements.
Gianna purchased this cottage in 2006
We grew up visiting this area and are still in love with it. Our relatives and many friends still have houses here, but very few are waterfront. This one belonged to a friend who passed away after enjoying his retirement here. This is exactly what we plan to do when we retire. And we are convinced that if we need to let go one property, for whatever reason, this is the last one to go.
There are very few properties in this area that offer so much. You have an almost private little cove and dock (PR laws do not permit private beaches or docks) for yourself. Due to its location, and its hard access through the shore, you hardly get any visitors other than friends. Villa Nana is easily accessible from any part of Puerto Rico and you have any amenities you might need nearby. Shopping, movie theaters, grocery stores, pharmacies, historical sites, etc.
My wife and I were wanting to celebrate our 36 wedding anniversary in a memorable place. After much research and several phone calls, we decided Villa Nana in Guanica, PR. Our experience here was excellent! We were greeted promptly and courteously, everything was clean, organized, and well equipped. I'm an adventurous, my wife a conservatist. I like scuba diving and exploring, my wife likes quiet time and reading on a chair in the ocean. Well Villa Nana offered us both our perfect vacation and wedding anniversary. My wife was able to read several books in the water on the private beach in front of Villa Nana. I was able to do several dives, recreational with Island Scuba located one block away from the Villa and fishing (lobster, octopus, fish) with local fisherman (Willie Vargas) during our stay. The Villa is very private and safe, the balcony facing the ocean provides superb tranquility and breath taking sunsets. We have been in Hawaii, Key West, San Diego, etc, seeking gorgeous sunsets. Villa Nana has nothing to envy to other places, in fact, the view and privacy that it offers ranks it #1 in our peaceful sunset book. The scuba diving is out of this world. If you dive, you know how uncomfortable it is to finish a dive and head on home in a car to clean your equipment and take a well deserving shower afterwards. Well at Villa Nana you can be dropped off at the dock were you have access to an outside shower, gear cleaning facilities and a gas grill to immediately cook your catch before it dies! Carlos and Gianna, thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us to celebrate our anniversary. It was absolutely "The BEST" 😘
We stayed at Villa Nana for 5 nights and it was wonderful. It is a prime spot for watching beautiful sunsets, having a family BBQ, reading a book, taking a day trip to one of PR's great beaches or attractions, going for a walk, swimming, and more. The house is lovely, super clean, quiet, and well equipped. We felt at home right away. Gianna and Carlos are super gracious hosts - full of great ideas on places to visit or things to see. We would definitely come back to this great spot on the sea.
This is a delightful property and the hostess couldn"t be friendlier or more helpful. The caretaker is conscientious and the property was set up perfectly for our party of five. Good central location in a rural part of Puerto Rico which is begging to be explored.
The high rise on the closest beach did present some issues over the weekend but I am confident that Gianna can bring that to a resolution. Just remember that Puerto Ricans are very social and enjoy life...partying is part of the package.
Good luck and enjoy

Our two families had a great time vacationing in Villa Nana. The best place of the house is the living room connected to the large shady deck. We cooked there on the grill, eat there, played games there, and some of us liked it so much that we even slept on the deck. I highly recommend the property to any large family.
This was perfect for our family - we especially enjoyed the large outdoor deck and patio with a beautiful view of the bay and beach at Playa Santa. Playa Santa beach is only steps away, but we also enjoyed exploring the beautiful SW of Puerto Rico - Cabo Rojo, Guilligan's Island, the dry forest, La Parguera and even Rincon were easy day trips. We highly recommend this cottage if you are seeking a truly relaxing vacation and natural beauty. In addition, the owner is very gracious and responsive to your invidual needs.
You can also fly to the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU) 2 hr 15 min, or to the Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla (BQN), 1hr 38 min
