About the property

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 6

Come relax at the Acorn Cottage nestled in the Pocono Mountains. The cottage is a modified A-frame with the comforts of home and the charm of the outdoors. With two state parks nearby, the cabin sleeps six and is close to many area attractions. This is a top region for white water rafting with dam releases weekly for great rapids. You can take advantage of all the outdoors has to offer: fish local waterways, white water raft, tube, kayak, bike, hike or take in a round of golf. You can also visit the quaint town of Jim Thorpe, ride the scenic train, shop at a variety of outlets or spend the evening at one of two casinos. Camelback and Pocono Downs is also within a short driving distance. If this doesn't sound like fun, you can warm yourself by the campfire roasting marshmallows, take a quiet walk in the woods and view the many deer or enjoy a game in the upstairs loft.

The gated community has a playground, lake for non-motorized boats and a pool that is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, we no longer provide the following in order to help keeps costs down due to loss: You must provide your own linens, blankets, pillows, tea towels and towels. Please note the bed sizes in the description.

About Dan and Carolyn Daneker, Owner/Manager

We reside in southeastern PA and use our cabin as a family get away. This is a family treasure that we want to share. When we decided to rent the cabin out we wanted to provide others with a get away that isn't going to break their bank and to help cover our costs.

Dan and Carolyn Daneker, Owner/Manager purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Dan and Carolyn Daneker, Owner/Manager chose Poconos

We purchased this property in 2005 and put a lot of heart into it. It has been completely gutted and renovated. Please be respectful of the property and the surrounding nature.

What makes this cabin unique

We are close to many attractions and are an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. Come visit to reconnect with nature and to get a much needed rest.

Cozy cottage in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this cottage! There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. Kitchen was well stocked for all our cooking needs and the firepit was nice to have for the evening, I would suggest maybe putting a tarp over the firewood to keep it dry. The movies and games were perfect for the rainy day we had Monday. We hiked to hawk falls, visited near by Jim Thorpe, and went to the seven tubs area in nearby Wilkes barre. The pool was unfortunately closed but my 2 sons did enjoy the playground. Seeing the deer everyday was awesome, and the babies they had were adorable. We would highly recommend this cottage!!! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy this gem!

Amazing Acorn Cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at acorn cottage during Memorial day weekend and we enjoyed our stay at cottage. Everything we needed for our stay was available and cottage is very well maintained. It was really quite and far from main road. We have spotted deer almost every day. We enjoyed camp fire at night in the woods and the view was amazing. I think pictures shown on the website don't do justice to the cottage. If we are in area next time Acorn cottage would be our first choice. Thanks Dan and Carolyn.

we enjoyed seeing the deer daily and it was very quiet. The kitchen offered everything we needed.

Glad it had washer and dryer they came in handy. Cute place would be nice if it actually had a table to sit by.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry you were unable to find the table. It is under the stained glass window in the cabin and can be seen in the picture on our site. It is a folding table on wheels that easily seats 6 people. You can move it how you wish to in the dining room or even pull it to the living room for larger groups. You have to lift up the side and swing the legs around to create the space for eating. We like to use it in the dining room, then fold it down to allow for easy movement around the area. There are folding wooden padded chairs in the downstairs closet near the washer and dryer that fit around it, in addition to the metal padded chairs that are in the dining room. We also have the picnic table, a table in the loft for games and a card table folded behind the hutch.
