About the property

Our tastefully decorated ground floor condominium in Aqua Terra has all the comforts of home. With two full bedrooms, two beautifully renovated full bathrooms, modern kitchen with granite countertops, living room/dining room and too many features to list, you will have everything you need for a relaxed and enjoyable stay in Playa del Carmen.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the entire unit, and use of all facilities in the condo. There is a small pool just outside our door with terrific morning sun that our guests have access to.

The Neighbourhood

Our condo is located in a safe and interesting area of Playa del Carmen, on Calle 34 at Avenida 20. While 2 blocks from world famous 5th Avenue and 4 blocks from some of the best beaches in the area, we are also close to numerous restaurants of all cuisines which are slightly off the beaten path, affordable and usually excellent.

Getting around

For getting around the Playa del Carmen area, we mostly walk or occassionally use taxis, which are easy to find and inexpensive. If you prefer your own transportation, we have onsite parking for one vehicle which is included in the rate.

Other Things to Note

Our favourite activities in Playa del Carmen:

- finding and trying amazing new restaurants

- renting a lounge chair at one of the local Beach Clubs (or just lounging beside our pool)

- drinking coffee on our patio in the morning

- exploring the beautiful and interesting Yucatan Peninsula.

Our Property Managers in Playa del Carmen are well established locally, and provide services in both English and Spanish. Very Clean and Modern

We really enjoyed our stay at Gary's unit in Playa del Carmen. We are two couples and both had a bedroom with bathroom. There is everything that you could want included at this unit. The swimming pool was great and we usually ended up our afternoons swimming here.

We used the comprehensive list of restaurants that was suggested and had a great meal in each and every one.

We arrived late and Gary had organized a driver to take us to the unit after a stop off to get the keys. This went without a hitch.

Very close to lots of restaurants and shops and 5th Avenue.

We would definitely stay here again if coming to Playa.

Fantastic Stay in Playa!

We just arrived back from an incredible stay in Playa. The weather was fantastic and the food/shopping was amazing. Our Playa home (condo) where we stayed was beautiful. It was extremely well appointed, clean and safe. The large condo had all the amenities needed for cooking, lounging or heading to the beach. Everything you need is in the condo. The spacious floorpan allowed for guests and is great for entertaining. The furniture and fixtures are new and very fashion forward. But also very comfortable and welcoming. The front outside patio is conveniently located next to a nice pool area. The condo is located just a few blocks from a vibrant 5th Avenue and just a few more steps to the Beach. There are many fabulous restaurants within a 5 minute walk and all major groceries/banking are 10 minutes away. We would definitely go again!

Beautiful Condo.

This property has recently been renovated. The owner did a fantastic job of the renovations. This two bedroom condo has all the conveniences and is in a perfect location. The new fridge with the water dispenser and ice maker is especially nice.

Perfect combination of everything!

This condo is far better than the post even portrays. I stayed here with my husband and two kids (ages 4 and 6) for a week over New Years. The things I appreciated most:

1. The property management company will organize airport transportation both ways as well as delivery of groceries before you arrive. They also provide a local contact person who you can call/text for absolutely anything. Everyone was remarkably kind and generous (even bringing my kids some Mexican treats on our last day). One day someone anticipated that we might be running low on bottled water, so stopped by with a new jug. Lots of little things like this made us feel incredibly welcome.

2. The location is far enough away from 5th Ave to avoid the touristy madness, but close enough (actually only a block!) to get there easily. There are a ton of restaurants nearby and it's an easy walk to the grocery store. The location also provides opportunities to experience a bit of Mexico that is not a tourist trap. We loved the little gelato stand at the corner!

3. The pool is perfect for little kids, including a large wading area that could also be used for some excellent sun bathing. The pool area is truly much more beautiful than even the pictures show.

4. The condo is ridiculously clean. My husband and I have strangely high standards in this domain and we had trouble finding any dirt or goo anywhere. Three out of the four of us (I won't say who!) ran into the closed sliding glass door at least once. And the cleaners came half way through the week, at exactly the point where a bit of sand accumulated on the floor. They went above and beyond, doing the dishes, washing towels, etc.

5. The kitchen is brand new with high end appliances, etc. (that, of course, were perfectly clean).

6. The price. Before we left, I was already looking to book another stay here (sadly, it seems to be booked during the week we're available to come back) and looked at other available condos in this complex. They were all much more expensive, including one that was much less nice (not as well decorated, twin beds) and several super-swanky ones on the top floor.

7. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and one couch includes a pull-out.

Truly, the only cons I can come up with are:

1. The water heater is tiny, so runs out of hot water if people shower at the same time or consecutively.

2. Not a lot of light for the bathroom mirror, so I thought I looked amazing all week. :)

Beautiful property

We loved our vacation home, the property was a short 10 minute walk to 5th ave and a short 3 minute walk to El Fogon which has the best Tacos Al Pastor and Frijoles Charros. Don't miss out on this authentic late afternoon until early morning Mexican restaurant. A meal for 2 with drinks is about $20 CDN. It is well lit at night and tons of people around so don't be afraid to venture out on your own. 30th Ave has tons of shops and grocery stores and little tacos stands. One of our favorite breakfast spots was at the DAC grocery store which has a great restaurant La Ceiba attached. They also have lots of imported food if you need a taste of home. There are tons of great restaurants along 5th Avenue, but if you're on a budget or looking to eat more economically there are an amazing number of terrific restaurants off of 5th - many quite close to our condo.
