About the property

Our tastefully decorated ground floor condominium in Aqua Terra has all the comforts of home. With two full bedrooms, two beautifully renovated full bathrooms, modern kitchen with granite countertops, living room/dining room and too many features to list, you will have everything you need for a relaxed and enjoyable stay in Playa del Carmen.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the entire unit, and use of all facilities in the condo. There is a small pool just outside our door with terrific morning sun that our guests have access to.

The Neighbourhood

Our condo is located in a safe and interesting area of Playa del Carmen, on Calle 34 at Avenida 20. While 2 blocks from world famous 5th Avenue and 4 blocks from some of the best beaches in the area, we are also close to numerous restaurants of all cuisines which are slightly off the beaten path, affordable and usually excellent.

Getting around

For getting around the Playa del Carmen area, we mostly walk or occassionally use taxis, which are easy to find and inexpensive. If you prefer your own transportation, we have onsite parking for one vehicle which is included in the rate.

Other Things to Note

Our favourite activities in Playa del Carmen:

- finding and trying amazing new restaurants

- renting a lounge chair at one of the local Beach Clubs (or just lounging beside our pool)

- drinking coffee on our patio in the morning

- exploring the beautiful and interesting Yucatan Peninsula.

Very Clean and Modern

We really enjoyed our stay at Gary's unit in Playa del Carmen. We are two couples and both had a bedroom with bathroom. There is everything that you could want included at this unit. The swimming pool was great and we usually ended up our afternoons swimming here.

We used the comprehensive list of restaurants that was suggested and had a great meal in each and every one.

We arrived late and Gary had organized a driver to take us to the unit after a stop off to get the keys. This went without a hitch.

Very close to lots of restaurants and shops and 5th Avenue.

We would definitely stay here again if coming to Playa.

Vacay....

This was our first Condo rental in Playa- having done all inclusive resorts in the past. Ready to venture out-I had many questions and Gary was WONDERFUL making our trip safe and less nervous in the planning.

The condo was perfect close to everything. The reviews were so helpful in choosing this condo. Having beach chairs, cooler, umbrella and towels everything we needed and didn't have to pack. Others staying at this property very nice and helpful. We used the ADO bus system which went well. Taxis are everywhere and very safe walking day and night.

Mega store in walking distance and bank to get Pesos.

Each night we would look at the list of favorite places to eat. Our favorite was Chiltepin Marisquillos seeing reviews for Shrimp Turbante and Garlic Shrimp were awesome-- we ate there three times and loved the staff.

Perfect Get Away!

If you're contemplating an all inclusive resort or this property, you will not be disappointed if you choose the condo. Staying in this condo really allowed us to see the city, talk with the people, enjoy the local restaraunts and relax in a space that felt like home! My husband and I have travelled to Playa multiple times and have fallen head over heels with the town. However, the all- inclusive packages that we've utilized in the past don't promote sight seeing and immersing one's self in the culture that Playa has to offer.

This property is situated adjacent to the town stadium or a "field house", so to speak. Not only was it an easily identifiable land mark for making our way back to the condo, locals are welcome to use the track, play a pick up game of basketball or even sweat off some calories in an outdoor aerobics class. In addition, Mamita's beach is a quick walk from the condo. Although there are chairs and other beach items provided for your convenience inside the condo, we found it easier to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at Mamita's for 200 pesos or about $5.00.

Finally, Bric management which facilitates the logistics of getting keys (and any other needs you might have) are really fantastic! Any reservations we had about booking this condo were completely erased during this stay. Verónica was fantastic! She was helpful and very accommodating.

Lovely condo in a great location!

As two couples we have traveled together to many places around the world and when possible love to stay in VRBO properties. Our stay in Gary and Joan's condo in Playa del Carmen lived up to our expectations. It provided exactly what we enjoy, a beautifully decorated, well appointed home for our 10 day visit with 2 king size bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The patio gave us a quiet, private outdoor space to enjoy our morning coffee and the pool was a nice place to relax when we came home from our day of sightseeing.

The location 4 blocks from the 5th Avenue's restaurants, bars and shopping was just right for us. And thanks to Gary and Joan's recommendations, we found some real treasures near the house, including Papa Charly's only a block away and El Fogon just down the street. One of our favorites turned out to be the Chiltepin Marisquillos just across the street from our building that had a friendly wait staff, lively environment and great food. (My favorite was the Shrimp Turbante, shrimp wrapped in bacon and drizzled with a delicious sauce; but my husband proclaimed his Garlic Shrimp the best ever.) But then, I have to admit that everywhere we ate in Playa del Carmen the food was great. Getting off 5th Avenue the prices dropped by 10-20% and those restaurants usually felt more 'authentically Mexican'.

Our only disappointment was that we were there during the very busy BPM Festival, so the city and the beaches in town were packed. Preferring quieter beaches meant we had to go further out of town. Our two favorites were Xpu-ha, a 20 minute collectivo ride down the highway and an unnamed beach north of town where the locals go. That beach was well worth the 40 minute walk. It's accessed by walking north on 5th Avenue along the new section; just past the Paradisus Hotel is a beach access road that ends in a beautiful little beach on a protected cove where a cenote forms a shallow wading pool for the kids and palm trees cluster in a picturesque oasis. It's one of those perfect gems you hope to share, but really don't want everyone to know about so it doesn't get overrun.

We loved our stay at this condo and highly recommend it. The listing describes it well and it is even lovelier than in the photos. It was perfectly clean and well maintained with a friendly staff available when we needed information. Thanks, Gary and Joan, for sharing your place with us for a great break from our cold, Canadian winter.

We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. It was like a home away from our home. The condo concierges welcomed us, described the condo amenities and gave us local tips. A local cell phone was left with us, to use if we needed anything from the concierge. We also received great condo and area information before arriving. The condo is very comfortable, nicely decorated and had everything necessary, including beach items. Also, it's in a secure building in a safe neighborhood. We had everything we needed. It was close to restaurants, grocery stores and a short walk to the beach. Thanks for a great stay.

Great property, nice location.

Wonderful 3-day stay in December 2016. Condo is clean and bright, and packed with all the amenities of home. Fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 comfortable king beds ... perfect for 2 couples or a small family. Very close to excellent local restaurants, 5-10 minute walk to beach, the 5th Ave. tourist destination, grocery shopping, and many great eateries. Perfect if you are seeking a "local" experience and want to avoid the resort crowds. Not so perfect if you expect to get waited on hand and foot and want to pay high resort prices for everything. This is a great place to relax. One caution, not a place for the mobility impaired as stairs and uneven surfaces abound. Thanks for a wonderful getaway experience!
