Beautiful Mountain Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We spent a weekend in this North Carolina mountain cabin. Arrived just in time to watch the snow begin to fall, and continue through the night. Words can't describe how beautiful this area is after a snow. Plenty of quiet roads and paths to walk on right around the cabin, and incredible views off of the side deck, including a waterfall and lazy stream. Cabin is very tastefully decorated, and fully functional. Cabin has modern heating system; however, the Fisher wood stove worked perfectly, and kept the place toasty. Great beds, warm blankets, and everything you could need in the kitchen. Ms. Aldridge could not have been more helpful or nicer to work with. We are already talking about a return trip in early spring to do more hiking around the Blowing Rock area.

The cabin was beautiful and perfect for our trip. The small waterfall just outside the side door is stunning. Perfect location, and a great road to go on a morning run!

Very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing retreat in the woods.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed our 5 day vacation while staying in the cabin in Blowing Rock. The cabin was a welcome retreat after a day of hiking, or shopping, along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The small waterfall was a bonus at the end of our day. Would gladly stay here again if we plan another trip to the area.

Good location, beautiful setting - would definitely return

Quiet, remote location, near Boone and Blowing Rock.

We had a big rainstorm during our stay, which activated the two waterfalls adjacent to the deck. We got several meals to go, so we could eat on the deck and enjoy the waterworks...very peaceful and special...a nice place to read a book.

Accommodations are comfortable and spacious. There were two of us staying here and there was ample space for us to spread out.

Our weather was hit and and cold, humid, and very rainy. The central HVAC works well and we ran the dehumidifier the entire time we were there.

I only have one complaint which keeps me from giving this rental 5 stars. It is the same complaint I have with about every western NC rental I've ever made over the past 15 years: all my clothing returns home smelling like mildew. The owner makes scented candles and other electrical plug-in scent producing devices available.
