About Nicelle Herrington
All my life working in the entertainment industry both my husband and I know luxury. We are constantly inspired by the south and this amazing city of New Orleans. We wanted to take something that had been left for decay and turn it into to something beautiful. We feel the property is well designed, amazingly decorated and ready to be enjoyed in its full southern glory!
Nicelle Herrington purchased this House in 2012
Why Nicelle Herrington chose Esplanade Ridge
It had a quite elegance just decaying on the street behind us, we just had to bring it back to life again.

Amazing Mid-city Oasis!
I cannot say enough great things about this property and the owner, Nicelle. I stayed here with my family - 5 adults and 3 kids under 6. We were more than comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, the kitchen was equipped enough for us to make multiple meals there. There were plenty of towels and linens where we did not or could not run out of clean towels, and even then they offered us towel and linen service since we were there an entire week! Based on some other reviews, I feel I should point out that it is 3 bedrooms not 4 unless you rent another room at the adjacent house, but I knew that going into it so it was not a problem for us (it is stated in the property details on the listing). And yes the pool is shared with the other house that Nicelle owns but that also was not an issue. It was such a great amenity in the 95 degree July New Orleans heat, and the pool is hidden from the street. There was also plenty of on street parking. The house is tucked on a quiet street (unless of course you are there during jazzfest or any other large event at the fairgrounds) and it is so easy to get anywhere in New Orleans. Walk to city park, walk to the streetcar, or Lyft and uber are abundant and will be there in five minutes or less. Also very easy to drive anywhere - plenty of grocery stores nearby etc. Nicelle and her assistant Ben were so incredibly accommodating - from check in to communicating with us while we were there. They even changed a light bulb in the kitchen for us that required a ladder and some elbow grease to open the light fixture! It was such a pleasant stay that I know we will be back when we are in Nola. Thanks Nicelle!
Very Disappointed and Dissatisfied
If I could rate this property a negative star, it still wouldn’t be good enough. The pictures advertised online are not a true representation of what you get. The furniture is old, worn down, and needs to be replaced. The leather chairs are completely ruined and uncomfortable to sit in. The white leather couch is now off white and dirty. The beds feel like concrete and were very uncomfortable. The furniture looks and feel like it all came from IKEA! You will leave with back pains. I promise! The landscaping online looks like an oasis but in person it looks like a corroded jungle. The property was so dusty it made two of my guest allergies flare up. Their were white dog hairs in the kitchen chairs. The pool is a community pool and not private to the property as advertised on line. The gray rug by the front door looks like its 12 years old and needs to be thrown out! It’s so dirty you can no longer see the decorations. The chairs on the porch are rusted and have turned brown and black. Not yellow and red as advertised online. The worse part was the odor. The property smelled like a sewage and wet dogs. To say the least my friends were disappointed and upset and it smelt and felt like we sleeping in the darn alley. The A/C is set up on a timer so it shuts off at night while you’re asleep, so if your upstairs you will wake up sweating in the morning. The water pressure in the upstairs bathroom feels like tear drops so you can forget about a hot steaming shower. The property need to be thoroughly cleaned and updated! I will be filing a complaint with VRBO and attaching the actual pictures of the property. The owner was not willing to accommodate us with a credit stating that she allowed us to check in and check out early. Well most hotels allow their GUESTS to check in and out early at no additional costs. Word of advice DO NOT STAY HERE because you can sleep in the ALLEY for FREE! #firstandlastVRBO
Incredible Weekend and Phenomenal Host
We just got back from New Orleans from my friend's bachelorette party on Monday and I cannot say enough kind things about Nicelle and her property. Prior to arrival she was extremely helpful - setting me up with a private chef, keeping me informed about the rental, the neighborhood, etc. She even let our group drop our bags off early since they arrived prior to check in and didn't want to lug things around. Throughout our stay she was around if you had a question or to give pointers about the city but she also gave us our space otherwise.
Not only was Nicelle a gem, the house was too! It was perfectly decorated and served our needs to a tee. We spent an entire afternoon in the pool and were constantly outside taking advantage of the patios. I cannot recommend this property enough and would definitely suggest booking Benny Poppins too - it was our favorite meal while we were there! Thank you again Nicelle!
Great place, well taken care of. The owner was very friendly and helpful with city details. We were there for a medical conference and found the location to be pretty good. Not knowing the city, it seemed central enough to get anywhere we wanted to go within a 10 min Uber ride. The place was nice inside and the pool was a nice bonus on a hot southern day. Would stay there again if we ever go back to NOLA. Thanks
Great property, super clean and great amenities. Perfect location walking distance from the Jazz Festival, close to restaurant and French Quarter. We definitely recommend this property.
Walking distance to restaurants and shops, a short bike ride to the French Quarter. During jazz fest sit on the porch hear the music and watch the people go by!
