About Nicelle Herrington

All my life working in the entertainment industry both my husband and I know luxury. We are constantly inspired by the south and this amazing city of New Orleans. We wanted to take something that had been left for decay and turn it into to something beautiful. We feel the property is well designed, amazingly decorated and ready to be enjoyed in its full southern glory!

Nicelle Herrington purchased this house in 2012

Why Nicelle Herrington chose New Orleans

It had a quite elegance just decaying on the street behind us, we just had to bring it back to life again.

What makes this house unique

STEPS FROM JAZZFEST... You will not need a car, walking distance to cute restaurants and shops.. Bike to the French Quarter... This property was a labor of love and perfect for the discerning travel that wants to live like a local.

Laid Back

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and stay at the Creole Cottage. The owners were extremely helpful pointing us in the right direction for activities in the area. The house and apartment were clean and accommodating and fulfilled/exceeded all our expectations of what a New Orleans home could have. Our children enjoyed playing in the pool every day after our excursions out on the town.

Thank you Nicelle on providing the landscape for a great family vacation that the kiddos will never forget.

Most incredible property in NOLA

  • 5 of 5

I booked the house for my bachelorette, and Nicelle was extremely friendly and offered a lot of suggestions of things to do nearby. Also, I suggest taking advantage of the personal chef, Benny, as well. We came back from an airboat tour and had lunch ready for us by the pool! :) A lot of the ladies said that that was their favorite meal of the entire trip.

The house itself was INCREDIBLE. The pictures were great, but in person…it was even better. I even texted my fiancé telling him we need to redecorate our house lol! Everything was decorated tastefully….I’m tempted to fly her out to Florida to be my interior designer :)

The house was also extremely clean. I’m somewhat of a germaphobe, and staying at hotels (even really nice ones) freaks me out…but I felt comfortable and right at home. We never ran out of towels (both wash cloths, bath towels, and pool towels were all provided). Nicelle even left us a bottle of wine and let us dabble in her liquor collection!

The location is convenient! We were very close to the French Quarter and Bourbon street, but far enough that we felt safe staying there (since it was just us girls!). We were within walking distance to a cute little coffee shop (the coffee shop even had vegan treats), a little grocery store, a few small cafés, and a nail salon.

I cannot say enough great things about this house and Nicelle. I already can’t wait to take our hubbies the next time we come. Thanks for making it the best trip ever!

Warm and welcoming home

  • 5 of 5

This home was everything it was described as. The location was perfect for our family trip to Jazzfest. The owner Nicelle could not have been more warm and welcoming. She made check-in and check out as simple as possible. Our family would definitely stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans!

Wonderful and stress free property

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience staying at this home. Excellent location with all the bells and whistles. The kitchen came with so many things already that we hadn't thought to bring, even a cutting board :-) I would highly recommend this property

Made our trip!

  • 5 of 5

Nicelle and her family were such gracious hosts! From the fresh flowers to snacks our kids loved to cold drinks in the fridge, there were no details overlooked. The neighborhood is cool with restaurants, coffee shops, and wine bars a few short blocks away, and you're a quick drive/Uber to all the sights you want to see. To top it all off, the home itself is BEAUTIFUL. While we had a great time in New Orleans for spring break, each day our kids wanted to "get home" because it was so warm and inviting. Would absolutely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone who asks. Thank you, Nicelle!

Loved the location!

  • 4 of 5

This is a fun house with a fun hostess! We were a bit cramped with 2 families but didn't spend much time there so it wasn't a big deal. We loved the fairgrounds neighborhood and even walked to the races several times, the local coffee shop and the market. So convenient. The porch is AWESOME! The place is definitely funky NOLA cool.

4 stars for a few reasons. #1. The upstairs bathroom is a problem. The Tub/Shower is neither tub nor shower really and very dangerous to get in and out of. I almost fell out of it. #2. Their are no blinds on the windows so the light coming in through the sheer curtains in the morning is BRIGHT! #3. Kitchen needs some stocking. No spatulas, cutting boards or a good frying pan.

Other than that, I would definitely stay here again. Nicelle makes it easy and that counts for a lot!
