Our home has 3 bedrooms including the loft. The master bedroom has its own bath with a shower. The great room has a tall vaulted ceiling with two exposed cypress trusses. The loft has 4 twin beds and a full size bed.
We have basic satellite TV from DISH network.
This is a new home, finished in June, 2014. It has 1800 sq ft with porches front and back.
The area around our home is quiet and really laid back. You won't hear much out of the closest neighbors,(100 yards or more away) if anything. The concrete front porch is cool and shaded most of the time. There might be 4 or 5 cars drive by each day. Pretty private place. Yet only 15-20 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants, marinas, etc.. Or about 2 minutes from being in the lake at Cove Creek Recreation Area.
We have a nice fire pit you can gather around and make s'mores or more. You won't need to bring your wood. There will be plenty nearby.
If you have younger kids who need to burn off energy, you are welcome to romp around on 12 acres that are part of our property here.
We have put together a "poor man's" frisbee golf course you are welcome to use. We have a number of frisbees and course map/scorecards.
NOTE: We DO NOT rent our home for 'bachelor' type parties.

About John and Susan Waldrup
Hi, I'm John Waldrup. My wife, Susan, and I have lived in the Greers Ferry Lake area most of our lives. My family moved to Heber Springs in 1970 from SE Arkansas. Susan's folks came here in 1855. She is kin to everyone. LOL. A little history. Bean Point. Where did that name come from? That's a question we are asked a lot. Even from local people. A "point" is the end of a ridge in hilly terrain. In a 20 mile radius of our house you could find Miller Point, Stark Point, Goff Point, and Bean Point. All were named for families who lived or homesteaded in the area. The area where our house and lots are was owned by the Bean family. Jesse Bean was born in 1840 and, as best as we can determine, lived most of his life within a mile or so of our house. He left and fought with the Confederate Army. As he was returning home, he passed a farm and saw a woman out working her farm. He found out she was a widow with several small children. They eventually got married and she moved back home with him. Jesse died in 1899. Susan's granddad bought 80 acres here in 1957. In the decade or two after 1963 and the coming of Greers Ferry Lake, they sold off some of the lots that overlook the lake. After her grandparents' death, the remaining land was divided among their four children. We inherited some of it and bought more, intending to finish the subdividing that was started years earlier. We have completed that project. We have several lots for sale and a weekend home that we use and rent out to folks who come here to enjoy the lake or just get away. We look forward to meeting you if you choose to stay at Bean Point.

Why John and Susan Waldrup chose Clayton
We used this property for our vacation rental for primarily two reasons. One, we already owned the land. And two, because of the location. It is close to the lake, close to a launch ramp, and close enough to downtown Heber Springs or Quitman. Our house is new (built in 2013-2014). It is fresh. It will be clean. We do not use property managers. It does not smell like a motel room. The nearest house is a good football field away. There is very little noise. If you are looking for a quiet laid back place to hang out, this is it. Are you an early riser? If so, you may see several deer meander across the lawn. I saw four raccoon in the middle of the day in the front yard not long ago.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
There is one thing that makes our property unique. We are here. We are personally involved in the booking, cleaning, and maintenance of our home. We will meet you and make sure your questions are answered about the house and/or the area when you arrive. And.... If you have any interest in building or buying a second home in the area, consider Bean Point. There are great building sites. I was a building contractor for 30+ years in this area and would be glad to help you any way that I can.

Wonderful Country Cabin Near the Lake
This rental was a lifesaver for our family. We had 13 family members from California in town for a funeral and burial in Hidgen near Greers Ferry. This property located in Quitman was the perfect middle point between Heber Springs and Higden while dealing with the arrangements. Eleven people ranging in age from 5 to 78 were comfortably accommodated and the beds in the loft were spaced far enough apart for everyone's luggage to fit in between. This property is beautiful and the pictures do not do the outside justice. The home is very inviting, nicely decorated, roomy, clean and well-maintained. Everyone enjoyed looking at all the old pictures and the decorations, books and games on the shelves. It was too cold to sit on the deck, but it would be a great place to hang out and enjoy the peace of the countryside. The house has everything you need except your own groceries. The owner was very helpful before, during and after the stay and our deposit was promptly refunded. This would be a great vacation rental and is just a quarter mile from lake access.
Wonderful time with family.
This home provided the perfect location for the celebration of my 12 year old daughter's birthday. Fire pit, s'mores, etc.
Beautiful and Relaxing
Pictures cant really give you the full beauty of this rental. Very nice and excellent condition. We had 13 people in our party and it was able to accomodate all of us. Everything was immaculate. John met us there upon arrival and was very friendly. He had all the supplies and utensils fully stocked and the only thing we had to worry about was the food. It was very relaxing to go out on the back deck and just enjoy the atmosphere and nature without all the big city noises. I would highly recommend this rental. Definitely a 5-star.
Great place to relax and refresh
The house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the property and the location. The deer and other wildlife were awesome.
John and Susan keep everything clean and comfortable.
We look forward to returning.
Enjoyed a weeks stay at this vacation rental. It had plenty of room for our 8 guests, 4 of which were children. It had all the necessary things we needed to make our week complete(all cooking utensils, grill, towels). There is a Rec area with boat launch very close that we used daily, but be prepared to pay a daily fee of $5. If we weren't on the water, we were on the back porch in the swing. Heber is only 7 miles away for groceries & restaurants. If you are looking to unplug, this is a good getaway and I would recommend this home. Home owner was very good to work with & refund deposit was returned promptly.
My Family and I all converged on this property from 3 different States for 4 days of R&R. We were in contact with the owner John several times in the weeks prior and he was very accommodating and flexible with regard to the property and very helpful with information about local business and attractions. The home is beautiful and well kept all the adventure You want is within 30 minutes and we liked the fact that You can go back anytime of the day and relax in the quiet area. There is a beach just a 1/4 mile down the road. I recommend driving to it due to the road not having provision for walking near the road. We had 13 people ranging from 10 months to 49 Yrs of age and found this to be potentially the spot for an annual retreat with the group. Thank You John! The memories are made.
Bean Point is a quiet area that is within 1/4 mile of Greers Ferry Lake. It is within 50 miles of Blanchard Springs Caverns, the Ozark Folk Center, all the antiques you want to see, and a variety of other interesting places.
