Great little cabin

  • 5 of 5

Great little cabin with a great front porch river view. Best time would be warmer weather for tubing on the river.

Cozy, Comfortable, Charming

We stayed at the cabin for 5 nights while waiting to move into our new home and found it hard to leave. Fully equipped, quiet and peaceful. A great spot to unwind. Highly recommend

Cute and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

Me, my kids and two of my friend's kids, plus my dog stayed here for two nights and we loved it. With plans to hike the 'Channels Natural Preserve, the location of the cabin was ideal. Upon walking in to the cabin I was pleasantly reminded of my grandfather's shops and summer camp cabins. The place is small and cozy, there were plenty of linens, extra blankets, pillows and towels. The futon is on the smaller side so I wouldn't recommend it for two adults. There are a few movies for the older crowd, some books and games. The guest book was fun to page through, and there is a notebook with helpful tidbits as well. The kids very much enjoyed sitting on the deck by the river's edge and I loved the rocking chairs on the cabin deck. On either side are what appear to be abandoned cabins and since the road was infrequently traveled the atmosphere was very serene. The security lights over the main door and back door plus the motion light on the stairs helped us feel secure. We really enjoyed our stay and if we are ever down that way again (it's a 6 hour drive for us) we will definitely go back.

It was a great spot to get away.

We went up to hike the Channels (they are worth it) and needed a place to stay. Once I saw the pictures, I knew this was the place for us. It is just far enough from town to be quiet. We loved everything about the place. It was a great stay. If you are looking for out in the wilderness, this is the place for you.

great stay

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin. I enjoyed the rustic nature and the cozy feel. Really nice. The view of the river is great. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck and going down by the water to watch the river roll by. I would highly recommend. It is not luxury but the fun of a cabin stay is to feel like you are in a cabin and not a hotel, so it works just right. And Abingdon is very nearby, great little town. Go to the Wolf Hills brewery and to a play at the Barter Theater.

Perfect Retreat

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is spacious and very well decorated, with a gorgeous view and an incredible deck right on the river. The gas fireplace is just right on cold nights. The cabin has an extremely pleasant and rustic atmosphere, so it is very easy to relax and let time slide by while reading or just enjoying the view. It's a very short drive from downtown Abingdon, which has some of my personal favorite restaurants in the all of Virginia.
