About Charlotte Lien-Dickerson

We purchased this home and the cabin next door because we love going to the beach with our friends, family and dogs! Since it is a vacation home we decided to rent it out to others for their enjoyment as well!

Charlotte Lien-Dickerson purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Charlotte Lien-Dickerson chose Long Beach

We purchased it from a friend sight unseen!

What makes this cabin unique

I like to call it cozy and love the location. Since it's on a dead end street there is no traffic and just mins to the beach!

I remodeled it in 2014 with new decor, bedding, paint, flooring, etc. we wanted it to be nice but also cozy so people can rest and relax!

Such a wonderful condo. Our family (2 adults and 4 small children) had more than enough room-CLEAN

  • 5 of 5

The condo was wonderful. The parking and location were ideal, but the steps up to the condo were a little tricky after miles of hiking and beachcoming. I was originally concerned about the small square footage, but it was perfect. It had an open feeling/layout and just the right amount of everything. There is a great coffee shop right across the street, the grocery store, and Alec'a by the Sea was tasty! We loved that it had a washer and dryer! Our 20 month old bumped the main room tv with a foam/plastic toy and shattered the tv on the first day. We were able to contact the owners immediately and replace the tv the following day. They were very nice and understanding. We were too fearful to get the TV set up until the morning we left, just because of the fact the baby could reach up and touch it... but who needs TV when you have the ocean?!?!! The only other recommendation I might give would be a better vaccuum and an ice cream scooper for the kitchen. I mean, they thought of pretty much everything down to kids plates, bowls, and cups. We will be back! Thank you so much for the wonderful week!

Beach cabin stay-home was ok. Lacking details

  • 2 of 5

We showed up after check in time (check in time was 4). We had driven a long time and we were ready to get out of the car. The house was not unlocked like it said it would be. We went to the neighbors (house caretakers) and they were very surprised to see us. They thought we were coming the next day. House was not ready and they needed an additional hour . They said the people before us did not check out on time. Frustrating but we dealt with it and went into town.

Once inside, the cabin was pretty comfortable. The main problem was that there were no instructions for how things worked. We did not have access to wifi the whole trip (we have 2 teenagers so the wasn't great). They said the password for wifi was written down, which it wasn't. So we went to the caretakers again and she wrote it down for me. It never worked. She did not know which network the password was for and I think that a total of 4 different locked networks were showing up. None of them worked with the password we were given (I had her say it and write it down). Fire pit was smaller than the one in picture as that one was removed. We used a portable one from the side of the house which worked fine for us. At least we had something. The lack of directions also left us with no way to empty the garbage. We looked all around the house but there were no available cans. A simple document that with basic home instructions would have been helpful. The beach is nice there because it is really quiet. Not a lot of people. It is quite a walk but we did not mind that with our dog and kids.

Owner's Response: I am very sorry that you had the hardships on your stay at our home. We have only had great reviews and this is the first negative response we have received. I did verify with with our neighbors that clean and overlook the house that indeed it was unlocked and they were still cleaning there ..That was not appropriate for you to have to wait after such a long drive..again my apology! You did contact me about the WIFI and I apologize again but I never heard back from you so I was not concerned. I had one other guest state trouble and it is now working properly. As far as the garbage, we do leave the big garbage can in the shed so Bears or animals are not attracted to the house, it was right next to the BBQ that you pulled out of the shed to use which you did during your stay. My apologies again..I should state exactly where it was located. I will not apologize for the walk to the beach...this home is not located on the beach and if it was and advertised as that..we would be charging much more. It is only 4 houses to the dunes and a 5 minute walk to the beach. The map shows exactly where it is located. We really have tried to make this home very comfortable for all our guests , pets, children and We continue to add amenities that our guests may request! I apprecaite your comments and rating on our home! I am sorry you will not want to return! Best, Char

This home is fantastic! We loved the coziness and cleanliness of the house, the quick walk to the beach, the short drive into town. So many sights to see in town, including Cape Disappointment State Park. The house was well supplied with all of the basics and then some extras. The kids loved the kites and the games. It was great to have a gas bbq grill for dinners and the wood fire pit for roasting marshmallows. We love to cook on a griddle, so we brought our own, as well as a cookie sheet, these would be the only amenities we thought were missing in the kitchen. Phone service and internet were sketchy due to the area, but not really a challenge for our family. The contact with the owner, Char, was excellent, and the caretakers were wonderful too. We would love to stay here again whenever we visit Long Beach.

Great place for families

  • 5 of 5

This property is about 6 miles out of town, but very convenient. Located on a quiet street, it's a 1/2 block walk to the dunes and about a 2 block walk through the dunes, which is LOVELY. You are far enough down the beach that you are undisturbed, lots of space to run and play on the beach. The house itself is cutely decorated and clean. Cooking: There are plenty of dishes and a sparse collection of pots and pans. No cookie sheets or casseroles, so if you are planning your meals in, you may want to bring your "go to" bake or cookware. Lastly, no washer and dryer or clothes line so we jerry-rigged a clothes line at the front of the house so we weren't filling it with sand. YOu may want to plan for that as well.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great suggestions! We are now going to supply the house with baking dishes, more pans and cookie sheets! A clothes line will be great as well in the summer, we do have one in the shed for the winter gear..not fancy but it works! I am glad you enjoyed your stay! Best, Char

Lots of space!

We love staying in this cabin. There is plenty of room for the whole family to relax and I love that the kitchen doesn't leave you wanting for more. It's a great place for kids too as they can all sleep and in one room and have fun.
