Would do it again!

Perfect set up for our large family gathering
This property was a great fit for a multi-generational family gathering. I so appreciated a call from the host, Kevin, on the morning we were scheduled to arrive to see if I had questions and give details of how to access the property. It's nice to know he is close by and available. The set up of the 2 houses was perfect. I loved having my morning coffee and end of the evening glass of wine on the porch of the small house in the back sitting on the rocking chairs. We cooked a couple of big meals during our stay and having the large BBQ, 2 stoves and 2 refrigerators really helped. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of serving utensils but we would have appreciated more kitchen towels and we couldn't find any potholders. The beds were comfortable but the older family members in the group would have liked a top sheet in addition to the comforter and two bath towels per person but we managed. My husband joined us a day later so he brought extra towels from home. We took full advantage of all of the amenities: the pool table, ping pong table and the home theater. We were disappointed that the hot top was on the fritz but the host was quite apologetic and did try and have it repaired. The beach cruisers were the highlight. It was so fun to bike to State Street and the beach. The location of the house to both downtown and the beach was ideal. The neighborhood appears to be mostly a working class neighborhood and the property is surrounded by close neighbors so we tried to be sensitive to our noise level. Our young adult children were certainly not ready to "quiet down" at 10 pm but I found that closing all of the windows in the front house contained the noise adequately and closing the doors to the gameroom did the same. The accoustics in the house were such that the early-to-bed crowd was also not disturbed by the late-night revelers. Having the option of the two houses supported the different routines of both young and old. I found the placement of the many motion lights very helpful in moving between the 2 houses at night. The off street parking was a benefit. We had a fabulous visit to Santa Barbara and I credit that with being able to stay together in a comfortable home rather than multiple hotel rooms which would have been way more costly. Thank you so much, Kevin, for providing this opportunity for a great get-together!
Thank you so much for the great review! So glad that you all had such a great time in Santa Barbara. The hot tub is up and running and ready for your future visit. I added sheets for our future guest, a great suggestion.
Amazing vacation home in amazing location
I booked this place after a previous place canceled on me. I was hoping for anything but what I got was the best place in town. Starting with the price and location, both were perfect. A mile walk to downtown is awesome, we parked our cars (ample parking) and never used them once. When we got tired, the taxi ride back home was just $7. The house itself is awesome too, nice bbq and plenty of outdoor seating. 6 bedrooms and two kitchens is more than enough for any group of people. In addition to all this, a spa, pool table, ping pong table and movie theater left us with almost no reason to leave. I tip my hat to the property owner, well done.
My family and I are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and that our residence provided everything you needed. Next time you come to Santa Barbara feel free to give us a call.
Great house for a larger group in an ideal locatio
We rented the house for a small reunion of college friends. It was exactly what we needed, with all the important amenities, in an ideal location for both the beach and State St. With a larger group it was really nice to be able to walk most places and not have to worry about cars and parking.
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed to cook a couple meals. It was also nice having a BBQ and the two picnic tables for taking advantage of the great weather.
Highly recommend renting this if you have a larger group and want to be close to everything great about Santa Barbara.
Thank you for the wonderful review about your stay in Santa Barbara. It makes us so happy to hear that you and your friends had such a great time. We look forward to welcoming you back again on your next trip.
Lovely, chill spot for the whole family; owner great to work with
My family (parents, siblings, and their kids) visited SB for a weeklong reunion. This place was terrific housing--plenty of rooms for both kiddos and adults and the downstairs "unit" provided perfect privacy and quiet for the family with young ones. Great gathering spaces too. We used the dining/living room for game nights and dinners. And the kitchen was spacious enough to allow us to easily cook together. Nice grill and patio too! Plus, the game room/theatre room (pingpong, pool, and projector) were fun.
Location is great. Easy walk downtown over the footpath, a straight shot to the beach, and right off the freeway. Nice little market a block away and right on the bus route.
The owner, too, was a plus with this space. He was easy to work with both ahead of time and during the stay and accomodating (found some toys for the little ones). He genuinely seemed investes in ensuring we enjoyed our stay.
We are glad that the home met your expectations and that you were able to have an enjoyable vacation. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
