Perched atop a historic town house in the bustling and hip Agricola North area

If a central location is what you are searching for then look no further. Park your car in a private off street spot then walk or bike everywhere. 15 minutes walk takes you downtown, a little further and you will access the waterfront, Historic Properties, universities, hospitals, museums and tourism attractions. Many of the listings for Halifax are actually no where near the city core. From our flat ..walk everywhere

Our apartment is built on the third floor of a 19th century row house at 2433 Agricola Street # 2. Yes there are stairs but it is worth the walk. It is a bright and sunny open concept flat with a corner view of Halifax Harbour.

We started our first vacation rental in 2013 with Heart of Halifax # 1 just around the corner and enjoyed the experience so much that we have decided to open up the the flat above our own home to visitors.

There is one bedroom with an ensuite bathroom opening into an open concept living/dining/kitchen area. There is also access to a nice little deck for afternoon sun. The bedroom is equipped with a brand new king sized bed topped with a high quality foam mattress and deluxe bedding. Off the bedroom is your ensuite bathroom with a tiled shower.

The floors are all hardwood and the kitchen area features a custom built wood dining counter. Kitchen equipment includes a full sized flat top stove and stainless fridge as well as standard small appliances. Your hosts are chefs and so we have equipped the kitchen with top quality pots, dishware and of course sharp kitchen knives!

The living area is well furnished and includes a top quality memory foam convertible sofa bed. Easy chairs, coffee table and a flat screen TV complete the picture.

The Best Nest

When travel is part of your lifestyle this style of home away from home makes life on the road simple and comfortable. This home provided easy access to all aspects of Halifax, in a safe and yet very diverse community. Our host and hostess were welcoming and thoughtful of our privacy. I would recommend this spot for anyone coming to Halifax looking to explore a developing neighbourhood community and enjoy the eclectic nature of North Halifax.

Clean, bright and well located

We had a fantastic week touring Nova Scotia using this site as our home base. Jude met us on our arrival and gave us the low down on the suite and then left us to our own devices however I'm sure they would be more than welcoming with any questions had we had any. The bed was comfy and inviting and the bathroom was spacious and clean. The kitchen/living area is bright with big windows. The kitchen is well equipped with every appliance/tool we needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable and there was a ton of brochures, books and pamphlets for us to read through to acquaint ourselves with what to see and do and where to eat. The owners also had some recommendations in a binder that was left for us to peruse. I have to say we went to almost every restaurant recommendation and were not disappointed in any of them. Especially since there were many to choose from within steps of the front door. There is a grocery store within a few blocks and a liquor store just down the street. For someone with food allergies making restaurant eating somewhat a challenge, this was great for us. The location was great for us being just a little out of downtown but central enough that we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go either on foot or by vehicle. My one criticism, which really isn't one at all, is that the TV only had two channels so when we came back from a long day of touring and hiking and didn't feel like going out we were a little limited on the viewing. Not to worry there are lots of other ways to entertain yourself but we would have liked to settle in with a movie. Would absolutely recommend this suite to my friends and family.

Clean and cozy in a central location

This bright, clean and comfortable one bedroom apartment was perfect for our last few days in Nova Scotia. There are plenty of good restaurants and coffee shops within a block or two, and with the dedicated parking spot out back it is easy to hop into the car to explore other parts of the city. It is a five minute drive to the Citadel, Public Gardens and Waterfront. Agricola is a busy street and they happened to be doing construction while we were there, so it was a bit noisy at night; nonetheless we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Lovely suite in a great location

The suite felt like a home away from home. All the amenities were provided and Peter and Jude were great hosts. It was also very handy that we could walk to downtown Halifax, and there were very good cafes and restaurants close by.

Our apartment is located on Agricola Street North End Halifax. The neighbourhood is rapidly becoming the go to restaurant area as well as being a center for arts and music. Right around the corner is the Halifax Common, a lovely park with many recreational activities plus a huge outdoor skating rink. Best of all we are near downtown Halifax, only 15 minutes on foot, with all that has to offer. Hospitals, government offices, universities, museums are all easily accessible without a car. As well, we have quick and easy access to highways making this a great base for day trips around the province.

If you are a foodie, this is the right neighbourhood as several of the best new restaurants in the city are only a block away. Great local produce can be found at the market store across the street with super markets just a bit further.

Halifax has a wealth of museums from the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia to the Natural History Museum, all an easy walk.

Downtown too is easily accessible, with a wonderful, walkable center filled with shopping, cinemas, theater, nightlife etc.
