Perfect for Our Girls Weekend!
We rented this house for a girls getaway weekend in Denver. The layout of the house was perfect for our needs; we were able to cook lots of food while socializing due to the open concept layout. The bathroom has a separate room for the toilet, which is very helpful when several people need to get ready. The owner left the house VERY well-stocked with paper products, trash bags, and towels. The ice machine and water was broken on the refrigerator, but Mike (owner) was very communicative throughout the weekend to let us know of such issues. He responded to my texts all weekend as I had questions about little things. Beds were comfortable and the linens were very nice.
The only concern we had was the neighborhood, which of course is out of the owner's control to change. There were many homeless people walking by at all times of day, and at one point late at night three men knocked on the front door. They were arguing, so it scared us a bit. However, the property is very secure and all areas lock (including the fenced back yard area). We never felt unsafe, I just wouldn't walk around alone at night.
It's a beautiful property that worked perfectly for us. We would absolutely stay again!
The city has a food bank three blocks down and as Denver pushes homeless people off the 16th Street mall, some venture through our neighborhood but fortunately they move and do not camp. The university just completed a sports field (two blocks away) that’s extremely active with student sports and that’s been wonderful. The university is about 60 days from completing a great new housing building one block away which will increase the student mix which is already at a nice level.
To Re-cap, my neighborhood is transitional but NOT too transitional with the mix of people headed in a good direction. And I’m one block from the University campus and light rail. And even though the houses on either side look a bit run down they are all owned by one guy and he’s a professional plumber and he actually lives in the duplex that borders my backyard (he watches his properties and tenants extremely closely) and two houses down is where my housekeeper lives — so in addition to the outdoor lighting I have there’s a lot of eyes that watch my house and we watch for each other. We’re a beautiful community and we recognize and stop and talk to each other on the street.
But yes, this neighborhood was built in the 1800’s, it’s super cool, old and historic but yes the housing looks old but the appraisals are high. It’s proximity to downtown make it a true value.
Great place!!! Min to downtown
We had a great stay. This place is a 10min walk to downtown.
The house is right in the middle of everything with easy access to all of Denver's neighborhoods. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more -- a great choice.
Amazing place. Perfect location, well put together house. We had an amazing weekend.
Beautiful kitchen and living room. Patio was incredible. Coffee bar and plenty of glassware. For a group of 5 guys in town to enjoy Denver, couldn’t have asked for more! He was very willing to work with you too. One text away and he helped out! Will be back
Location, location, location!
Convenient location. Good place from which to explore Denver. Great bedding. Very clean and convenient.
