About Lynda

We fell in love with the Port Austin area 17 years ago while camping. The memories created with our children will last our lifetime and theirs. We purchased Lynda's Lodge to continue creating memories with our family and hope you enjoy the area as much as we do creating your own memories.

Lynda purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Lynda chose Port Austin

The knotty pine walls and hard wood floors remind me of my grandparents cabin. This cabin, however, has modern amenities.

Restful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very neat and comfortable. All of the furnishings were nice and well kept. Even though the weather took a turn for the worse we were very comfortable and enjoyed the sunsets as well as the peaceful sounds of the waves crashing against the break wall. There is a fireplace in the central room that was very inviting but we did not make a fire per owner’s request...it was obvious that someone prior had made one without knowledge of proper damper operation so we understood the concern. (Maybe it could be converted to propane in the future??) There is no shortage of local eateries - anyone should be able to find a menu and a price list to fit their taste. The Farmer’s Market on Saturday is a “must attend”. Each week offers something a little different from locally sourced foods, to clothing, to wood carving, to flower arrangements - something for everyone. Live music has been provided every time we’ve been there. Rental bikes and kayaks are available for nominal prices. Use some common sense during kayaking as once you are on the water the wind and temperatures can quickly drain your body temps plus getting out is often easier than getting back for the inexperienced. Fishing from the pier, from shore or while wading can be very productive for small mouth bass and other species. Above all, the attitude of everyone we met was always very positive and friendly. We have stayed in Port Austin previously and always come back. This cabin will be first on our list when we are looking for our next weekend stay.

The property is reminiscent of times past!! Very comfortable, nice trees and fantastic view!!

Lynda's Lodge was the best!! We enjoyed our stay immensely and would go back in a heartbeat!! There is plenty of room in the cottage to take a couple friends and have everyone comfortable with the accommodations. Bathrooms located conveniently for all....a room to watch movies in and a gorgeous sunroom overlooking the lake!! The sunsets are beautiful!! Very pleasant and relaxing...close to town and many many beautiful dunes and beaches overlooking Lake Huron, though you never have to leave Lynda's to have a great time. The firepit too was a highlight of our last evening.....can't say enough about our entire trip....

Peaceul and relaxing!!

  • 5 of 5

Lynda's Lodge was everything we hoped for and more. There is plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked and it was great to have a washer and dryer available. The place is clean and very tastefully decorated. The beach is small but the water was calm and clear. There weren't a lot of other people in neighboring homes - likely due to the time of year - so it was extra quiet. We took a couple morning walks on the beach and had some evening bonfires in the fire pit. One evening, a neighbor came over and joined us for a short period of time. Folks in Port Austin were all friendly and helpful.

The weather was perfect the long weekend we were there so we hardly spent any time indoors until way after the sun went down. I moved from the area 28 years ago and forgot how beautiful those sunsets are.

We are looking forward to returning to Lynda's! I may have to make a girls' long weekend with my friends in the area.

Lynda is a very attentive hostess. She was quick to respond to questions I had and provided some good information on local attractions.

The beaches are clean and beautiful. Port Austin is home to beautiful rock formations along its shoreline, and has sandy beaches. Nearby is Port Crescent State Park, which has one of Michigan's finest beaches.

The knotty pine with hardwood floor cabin is located 16 miles east of Caseville and 2 miles west of Port Austin on the sandy shore Port Huron.

There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sun-room, living room, family room, kitchen and a deck to enjoy.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc. There is also a washer/dryer, TV and a DVD player. Linens (pillows, sheets, towels, etc) are provided.

Port Austin & Caseville offer shops, grocery stores, a party store, kayak rental, bicycle rental, mini golf, parks, movie theater, tennis courts, restaurants and bars. Two upscale restaurants are located nearby.
