This really was the best vacation rental place that we have ever stayed in. We are in our sixties and have traveled throughout the US. Our host Darryl gave great directions to get there. As soon as we drove in to our free parking space we fell in love with the place. Free parking is very important in Charleston. The yard is beautiful. We enjoyed our morning coffee in the yard while listening to the birds chirping away. The yard is also great for that evening night cap. Inside is absolutely beautiful. Every detail has been thought out and wonderfully displayed. The kitchen has every imaginable gadget and appliance. The living room is comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom is surprisingly large with a great shower. The king size bed is so comfortable!! The interior designer has to be congratulated. The house is tucked away in a beautiful historic neighborhood. You are only a block away from fantastic shopping in the fashion district. Another block is the Charleston Market. You are a short walk to see other beautiful historic homes and churches while winding up at the Battery. Nearby dining is very good. So, when you look at the listing for this home, go no further. Make your reservation. The home is wonderful and you have location, location, location.

Clean, comfortable, quiet and great location

  • 5 of 5

So Happy we found your awesome villa. We enjoyed our weekend very much. The villa is well equipped, clean, comfortable, quiet, and a wonderful location. It was awesome to have our own private parking space right there at the front door. We didn't have a chance to use the gas grill on the patio, but It is a wonderful option to have. We loved having a king size bed because some many rentals only offer a queen size. My only small complaint is the mattress was too hard for us. I think a memory foam mattress topper would help it greatly. Overall the villa is a gem and we hope to stay there again in the future.

Wonderful Thanksgiving in Charleston

  • 5 of 5

Usually spend Thanksgiving week with children and grandchildren but this year they planned on spending time in NYC to see Macy's parade and other sights. Not being up for that we decided to go to Charleston and were lucky enough to find the Villa De Damico. It was perfect for the time we spent in Charleston with easy walks to outstanding sights and dining. Uber was there in minutes for sights that were more than a short walk such as the boat to Fort Sumter . The Villa is just steps from a great French bakery for breakfast. The accommodations were so well thought out that anything you might need was available. Would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Perfect week in Charleston

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stay here for almost a week while I painted in beautiful Charleston. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities perfect. The courtyard is a sweet outdoor space although take bug spray as they also like this space! The location was perfect for our needs as we walked everywhere to restaurants and the many galleries close by. Charleston is one of our favorite towns and to eat, play, paint, golf and view beauty. Thanks for a great vrbo listing.

Owner's Response: It always makes me feel good when my guests enjoy their stay. We do have some biting bugs at different times of the year and I am looking into having a pest control company fix that. Its hard to believe that in the heart of the city we have bugs. Thanks for visiting my Villa here in Charleston I look forward to having you come back. Thanks Darryl

Great location and attention to detail

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from Charleston and had a lovely stay at 9 West Street, #6. The two-story townhouse is in a restored building in a perfect location for exploring Charleston by foot. The home has beautiful floor-to-ceiling french doors all around the first floor with wood shutters.... gorgeous hardwood floors throughout... an updated kitchen and bath... and MY FAVORITE... it's own private courtyard with fountain and table with umbrella. We spent every morning in the garden with our coffee and loved hearing the church bells and watching the squirrels scamper in the trees. There was a front-door parking spot... which was very nice... as we just parked the car and walked everywhere. Every detail was covered during our stay... anything we needed was found instantly... the owner thought of everything! And, GREAT COMMUNICATION! We'll definitely be back. Thank you to Darryl for an incredible stay in Charleston!

Perfect Villa, Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed four nights in October at Villa Damico. The Villa is perfect in so many ways.

First, there is no better location in Historic Charleston. It is literally a street over from Market St. and one block from King Street. It is a leisurely 5 minute stroll to the market and all the restaurants and shops around the market. We parked the car and never got in it until we were leaving. Even though it is right in the middle of everything, the Villa is tucked away on a nice, quiet, one-way residential street. Hardly any traffic comes down the road. Also, being the end unit, we heard no street noise at all.

Second, the Villa is immaculate and Darryl has thought to include every comfort of home you will ever need. Kudos to the housekeepers because when you enter, this place is spotless and I don’t use that term often with VRBO rentals. All the furnishings are updated and in great condition. The hardwood floors are gorgeous and it is decorated very nice. The sofa is extremely comfortable and so inviting after a day of walking the city. The kitchen has everything you need, including a separate ice maker. The king bed is unbelievably comfortable and it has top of the line, comfy sheets on it. There is a cozy window seat in the bedroom to curl up with a book. There is even a good size closet with hangers provided. The bathroom has great counter space and the walk in shower is so nice and big. Lots of extra towels are provided but there is also a washer and dryer. There is a label on all the switches so there is no guessing which switch controls which light. The parking space is a lifesaver as well. This is the only unit in the complex with courtyard. It was very relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of the fountain running. I can’t say enough about how great the Villa is.

Third, Darryl has been great to work with! This vacation has been two years coming. We were scheduled to arrive in October 2016, the day Hurricane Matthew hit Charleston. Darryl made a very stressful situation

much easier to deal with. When we finally got to visit, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Darryl responds quickly to every inquiry and question. Check in and out procedures were a breeze. It’s the little things that make all the difference. You can tell that Darryl has gone to great measures to make his guests feel comfortable and it shows in Villa Damico.

I highly, highly recommend this Villa for your visit to Charleston, you won’t be dissapointed.
