White Oak Pond is a beautiful 290 acre quiet lake nestled in the picturesque village of Holderness, New Hampshire. The pond has limited development with only 30 properties around the 3-mile shoreline. There is a 7.5 HP motor limit on the lake, which makes it ideal for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, paddle-boarding or just plain gazing at the ever-changing lake, listening for the call of the loons or watching a sunset.
The cottage is located two miles east of Holderness Village and 7 miles from Exit 24 (Ashland) off I-93.
This cozy cottage with two bedrooms in the main cottage and an additional bedroom in the attached studio is just right for a relaxing family vacation. It sleeps 6 with its two double beds and a set of bunk beds. There is a bath with tub in the main cottage plus a powder room and separate shower in the studio. The kitchen is equipped with stove and refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking equipment. There is internet service in the cottage. There is a screened porch as well as a patio, picnic table and grill. This is a self-catering cottage so guests supply their own linens (though linen arrangements may be made) and are expected to leave the cottage clean and ready for the next guests. Pets will be considered on an individual basis.
The cottage is 250 feet from White Oak pond where there is a private beach for your personal use. The water is shallow near the beach, making it great for small children. There are a dock and a raft which are shared with the owners when they are in residence. Two canoes are available for your use and kayaks can usually be borrowed from the owners. There is a marina with a launch nearby on Squam Lake and boats may be rented there.
There are many nearby attractions from the Squam Lakes Science Center to the White Mountains and shopping in nearby Meredith. Clark's Trading Post, Ruggles Mine and Polar Caves are a few attractions which are a short drive away.

My family enjoyed our time there beyond belief. We made full use of the private beach / kayaking / canoeing on the wonderful lake. Our two young boys had so much fun playing in the water and my oldest son (7) caught his first fish. The Uhler's are wonderful hosts. We are looking forward to spending another week there next year!
We are so glad that you enjoyed your week at our cottage and our beloved lake. WE enjoyed watching the boys having fun in the lake! We look forward to seeing you again.

We enjoyed our time at this sweet cottage! White Oak Pond is quiet & beautiful. Saw many loons & heard them as I fell asleep. Location is perfect, the cottage is very well equipped & so nice & clean. Dinner on the screened porch was a treat & the nice grill made dinner prep easy. The beach is comfortable & would be perfect for small kids. Nice dock & rafts to swim to, (water was the perfect temperature for swimming.) We did use the kayaks, such a nice Pond for that. Overall, it was a perfect place to spend a quiet week with family!! Many thanks to the Ulhers!
We are so glad that you enjoyed your week at our cottage! We really like our little spot on White Oak Pond and it is nice to know that others love it here too. Thank you for the great review.
As above, this was a wonderful retreat! This little cottage showed even better in person than it did on the internet! It had available everything a cottage dweller needed and than some, and everything was exceptionally NEAT + CLEAN! A well cared for property! We were a 5min walk to a private beach, and had use of chairs, canoes, kayaks, floats, and a raft anchored just a short swim. (What was also great, no motorized boats on this pond!) We loved the screened in porch which was great for eating and game playing. We were between Ashland and Meredith for any kind of shopping approx. 4 miles either way, and restaurants were available there too, for persons who do not like cooking when vacationing!!
Mimzie and Roger were perfect hosts, they were readily available to answer any questions, but, they really had everything already covered w/ post-it notices in the cottage.
We loved our wk. here and w/ luck we hope to return next year!!

Great small camp!
Loved the screen porch and path to the pond 👍. Great swimming beach, too.
Thanks. We enjoyed having you!
We stayed at this property for the week. The place was clean & well stocked for the incoming guests. Owners are very nice, yet not intrusive. Would I book this property again? Yes! Great location too
A lovely, secluded place to get away and relax.
We are a couple in our eighties who needed a quiet, peaceful place that would provide a change of scene from the retirement community where we live. We found this spot to be just what we were looking for. The cabin is small, but comfy and neat, with all we needed for our week's visit. We stayed there near the end of August, when the weather was excellent: sunny, comfortable temperature and cool at night. Whatever provisions we needed could be had by driving a short distance away and, since we are addicted to the New York Times, we were delighted to find that the small mini-mart down the road carried it every day. The best part of our stay, however, was the lovely little private beach. We went there every day from 2:00 - 3:30 when the sun flooded the beach and we tried to soak up enough rays to last us through the coming winter months! We also took our cocktails down there at 5:00 and sat watching the changing light and listening to the gentle lapping of the water, hoping for another appearance by the loons. No motor boats or jet skis are allowed on White Oak Pond, so there is never any intrusion on nature's sounds. The occasional Sunfish working the breeze and kayaks exploring the waters provided just what was needed to complete the scene. There are many good restaurants nearby, as well as art galleries and craft stores. Next year, before we go back there, I hope to do some research on nearby hiking trails. The owners are lovely people and we enjoyed talking to them, finding that we had many things in common. They were most helpful in helping us get settled, but not the least bit intrusive. The only thing that we found difficult was the sound of traffic on nearby Route 3, but it seemed to calm down by nightfall. We would definitely recommend this place. There is nothing more soothing than falling asleep listening to the loons calling across the water.
