About the Property
Rustic 8 sided cabin close to attractions of the Olympic Peninsula, WA.
This is a studio space with comfortable queen bed, there's a memory foam twin bed in the small sleeping loft. The ladder to the loft is straight up and not an easy climb for everyone! The loft is not appropriate for children under 12 and older or disabled adults.
The cabin is across the road from where writer Betty McDonald lived circa 1930 and was the inspiration for her best seller, 'The Egg and I'. This humorous memoir was later adapted for the Ma and Pa Kettle movies.
Guests have access to the cabin, parking and immediate surroundings.
I'll meet you upon arrival but your space is respected for the rest of your stay.

About the owner: Artist, designer and property manager. I came to the Olympic Peninsula over 35 yrs ago, fell in love with it then and still find the people, places and environment always fascinating.
Why the Owner Chose Chimacum, WA, USA:
Close to attractions of Olympic Peninsula and cultural activities in Port Townsend but quiet and relaxed. The "Treehaven Cabin" offers overnight travelers an opportunity to experience a slower pace in a rural environment close to a wide variety of activities. Guests can explore nature, enjoy organic foods and a vibrant arts community nearby.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin is in a park like setting. Quiet and relaxing surrounded by large trees. Ask to see more of my reviews, here are a few; 'This was the second time I've stayed at Kathleen's cabin. I love the spirit of the place -- it is a handcrafted 1970s-back-to-the-land era cabin. If you know the book 'Handmade Houses', this place could easily have been one of those in the book. It is simple, rustic and unique (octagonal-shaped). The bathroom is the highlight -- large, elegant, old-fashioned wood windows allow you to look out on a fern-filled forest while you relax in the claw-foot tub. It's a great place for a meditative retreat or romantic getaway; about 15 minutes from Port Townsend. If you must have TV and internet, this is not the place for you! Kathleen keeps it clean and well-maintained. She was easy to interact with; check-in was a breeze.' 'My husband and I loved the place at once just from the pictures but it was even more wonderful in person!'
