Three Bells Cabin is a beautifully restored, fully furnished log cabin.
The recently and beautifully restored log cabin, built circa 1920 by a local Bitterroot family, saw many years of family fun and gatherings. Much remains the same, except now you’ll be enjoying running water and indoor plumbing with a new tiled-shower, and the convenience of a washer and dryer.
The bedroom has a queen log bed and a gas fireplace, and the front sunporch or 'sleeping porch' has a queen log bed and lots of windows. A comfortable futon also sleeps two. The kitchen is fully equipped and the large stone fireplace in the living room draws everyone in. Perfect for two-three couples, three singles, or a family with children.
You’ll want to take time to visit the huge Bells located on a knoll just over the creek. And see if you can find the other big bell atop another hill. Three Bells Cabin is a great fishing-and-hiking mountain retreat in the heart of land you already own—your National Forest. Come and enjoy it!

Wonderful rustic getaway!
We were in town for a wedding and stayed at the Three Bells Cabin. Amy's directions were very easy to follow (although the lock box has 4 digits, not 5 like on the check in sheet) and she was super responsive with many of my last minute questions. I didn't realize until right before we got there that there was no cell or internet service so we had to do some last minute prepping so my husband could work for a few hours. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed (asked about a hair dryer and there was one in the bathroom). No frills, but great for a family or couple getaway when you want to be unplugged for a few days.
A great place to enjoy mountain living!
A great time that brought back many memories of the East Fork. The accommodations were excellent and the cabin was refurbished in an excellent manner for modern convenience. If you like this type of setting nothing better!
So we were at a big group wedding in the area and this was the perfect getaway for 6 of us. The cabin is super comfortable, well stocked and in a nice private setting. The host Amy was great to deal with setting everything up and I would surely go back again. Zero complaints!
Great Montana family and friends getaway
We were able to stay two different weeks this past September; hunting and fishing throughout the area with family and friends. We made memories that would last us a lifetime. The cabin gave us the peace and quiet we were all looking for along with great amenities such as starting the day with a nice warm shower and ending the day with a comfortable front porch to share the days stories with while winding down with a cold beverage.
Of course we would all like to have been connected to the outside world through cable TV, internet or cell service....the trade off was having good conversation or reading a book rather than looking at facebook, ESPN or CNN...we manage to survive...
We had high hopes for this place, and we were absolutely blown away. Everything about the cabin was perfect; secluded, cozy, and exactly as described. Amy was so helpful and accommodating. It is clear someone has put a lot of love and thought into this place. It was immaculate, well stocked, she's clearly thought of everything to make a great vacation spot. We felt like we were staying in a family cabin and not a bare-bones rental. We've had some great trips to Montana, and this is the best place we've ever stayed. Thanks so much for everything!
Lovely beyond imagination
I was looking for a spiritual retreat and Three Bells Cabin provided that and more. It was such a great place to enjoy the out of doors, soak in nature and connect with the Lord. I loved having no phone, no text messages waiting and no internet. It was comfortable, clean and charming and cozy. I will definitely visit there again - maybe a sisters retreat next spring.
Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin with me.
Three Bells Cabin sits on unique property at the confluence of Dowling Creek and the Bitterroot River’s East Fork, among stately mature fir trees. Its 2.8 acres fronts the river for more than 1,000 feet and also borders National Forest land on two sides. You can explore on up the river or back into Dowling Gulch.
