About Rachel Harbour and Cynthia Fitzgerald
Our Father, Joe Fitzgerald, purchased the home in 1979, shortly after it was renovated as part of a focused effort to resurrect the beauty of the neighborhood that had fallen into disrepair. Dad was a twenty year military man, with multiple degrees in psychology, engineering and business, and who spoke three languages. He passed away in November, 2012, just a few weeks short of his 80th birthday. We decorated his home to honor its history while preserving Dad’s personality and his rich life experiences. Our Father deeply loved this home and often said, “I feel more like a steward than an owner of this home. It is my job to preserve it for generations to come.” We were blessed to inherit this home from our Father and we feel the same sense of responsibility. We are happy to share this treasure with others to enjoy as we have. Cynthia and Rachel (Joe's Daughters)

Rachel and Cynthia's family home has it all; interesting history, wonderful neighborhood (and neighbors!), comfort, lovely spaces. Even a little Christmas tree! Did I mention the terrace where we watched the full moon rise over the city behind the Arch? Useful and comprehensive information was provided so that we could easily settle in and enjoy our time together. I look forward to a return visit. Many thanks for the gracious hospitality evident in the way this home is set up for guests.
Lovely home in beautiful, historic setting
My mom and sisters and I stayed here for our annual reunion — it was perfect, with plenty of beds for all of us, cozy places to relax and visit, and and a well-stocked kitchen and spacious dining room for meals. We loved the beautiful and historic neighborhood, surrounding the park and conveniently located near all of the sights. We would definitely recommend Rachel and Cynthia’s place to anyone visiting St. Louis!

We booked this home as a last minute decision to go out of town for the weekend. I researched the home but not as thoroughly as I usually do when I have more time. Our family has stayed at many VRBO properties in several states and this home is by far the best. We were so comfortable here. The home is spacious, beautiful, and extremely clean. Most other rental are nice but lack the feeling of “home”. This home is less like a rental and more like you are staying at a friend’s house. The neighborhood is beautiful and the restaurants nearby were delicious.
The only negative of our stay was that my kids loved the house so much we missed a dinner at a restaurant I researched in order to eat freezer pizzas at “home”. Cynthia was wonderful to work with. We would absolutely stay here again.
Beautiful, Historic Home
We came into Saint Louis for a family wedding and really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful, historic home. The location was great; very safe and a block or so from the Park, coffee shop and great restaurants. Also very convenient to all the great area attractions. The home was very clean, comfortable and well-appointed. We loved the roof top deck and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you.
We really liked it. It worked out great for a business trip to the convention center. Nice central location, felt safe, and the owner was responsive and great to work with.
I'm so glad St Louis and our home treated you well. We look forward to seeing you next time!

The home is beautiful and elegant and in a great neighborhood. It's within walking distance to fantastic restaurants and the best chocolate martini we've ever had.
We're so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. And yes, the Baileys chocolate martini's are not to be missed! We look forward to your next visit.
