Why Beverley Robinson and Butch Phillips chose Puntarenas

We enjoy the escape from busy North American life, and the need to be connected 24/7. This is a nature lover's paradise, with beautiful birds and monkeys in the trees.

What makes this house unique

If you want to experience a true 'Tico' vacation, without being completely isolated, this is for you. Lovely Traditional Style Home!

  • 5 of 5

We just loved our stay in Las Monas! The owners were so helpful in our planning before our trip. The neighborhood really embodies a small Tico village. We enjoyed hiking from the house up the creek and found it was a great way to get to know the lovely and gracious people who live in the area. The local neighborhood dog, Suzy adopts whomever stays in the home and is the best tour guide ever! She was one of the nicest dogs we have ever met and made our time there even more fun. The kitchen was very nicely stocked and made cooking a pleasure. Be sure to visit Georgina who owns the fruit stand at the highway, just where the road to the cottage leaves the highway. The in one of the most lovely people I have ever met, plus her bananas were 10 for $1! We saw scarlet macaws, black-mandibled toucans, brown jays, and crested guan right from the yard. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Owner's Response: We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay, and appreciated our home and it's setting. We love to experience authentic living, being surrounded by nature, and getting to know the local people. Glad you both are of the same spirit. And thank you for accepting our little Susie as the lovely little creature she is!

Quiet, beautiful and so relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We were here for 2 weeks around Christmas 2015. The house was nicely decorated with lots of pieces from local artists. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The property was very secure in a nice area very close to town. We would suggest a car rental, but taxis are cheap and it is so close to town it's a very reasonable alternative. We stayed here with another couple and our daughter with no problems and had plenty of space. We would rent this property again with no hesitations.

we really enjoyed the quiet rural communitee feel of the property

  • 4 of 5

The home was clean and we'll kept in an off the beaten path location yet with little local stores right close by and the larger town and shops just a few minutes by car away. There are several beaches and national parks within a short drive as well. We liked the small town feel as you walked or rode the bikes provided into town and the beach. I would recommend having a car to get to the most out of the wider area. The owner was there to meet us and available to answer any questions about the property or the area in general. We would definitely recommend it for a mature couple or family.

A perfect 2 weeks!

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful quiet Tico village setting. Birds, butterflies, dragonflies and geckos! Meandering chickens and roosters as well. Accommodations were very comfortable and simple. It was nice to have a car, but taxis were convenient as well and not very expensive. Punta Leona Beach was perfect! I'll be returning to Casa Las Monas!
