Poor customer service

  • 1 of 5

I'm a bit delayed in writing this, but wanted to make sure people were aware of what they were getting into with this property. First - the pros: TONS of room and perfect space-wise for a group of several families traveling together (as was the case with us). Cons: the management company does not seem to care terribly about this property. We were there in November during cold weather, and there was an inordinate number of flies (both alive and dead) all over the property. I would estimate that I personally killed at least 20 files over the course of several days. Next, we found mouse droppings in the kitchen. Overall, just some real cleanliness issues with the property. The wifi also went out on the first day of our five-day visit and tried repeatedly to contact the management team (via email, phone, etc) and when I finally got them on the phone, their response was basically, "Huh?". They claimed that they "left a message" for the cable company (who can leave messages for cable companies) and that they would have their maintenance man take a look when he came to fix a toilet (which took 48 hours to fix, by the way). When we mentioned the wifi to him, he looked like a deer stuck in the headlights and had no idea what we were talking about or how to fix it. Being without wifi may not be an issue in some places but because of the home's locations, we had NO cell phone reception or data access (between three different providers), so it caused a pretty big inconvenience to us. It was a holiday weekend, so I fully understand that it may not have been possible to get someone to the house to fix the wifi but there was ZERO proactive communication about it, so we didn't really feel like they valued us being there.

I would not only avoid this property but anything managed by this company in the area.

Great for dogs

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this house for a long weekend with our two younger siblings and respective parents (8 people in total) and each person's dog(s) (4 dogs in total). The house is perfect for dogs -- the carpet is clean but stained. The dogs had a great time running around the house. I don't think we'd rent this house if we didn't have dogs but it was perfect for what we needed. The kitchen was very nice and well stocked and comfortable, as were most of the bedrooms and bathrooms. The outside is also nice but the firepit needed to be cleaned out and set up (a lot of work) before we could start a fire and the grill isn't gas as advertised but charcoal (again, more work). That said, we had a great weekend and thought the house served our needs perfectly.

Satisfied

  • 5 of 5

My family was having a reunion with people coming in from all over the country so we rented this home for a long weekend. We also rented one at 818 Camp Run Rd so we had plenty of room for the large family group. We all had a wonderful time. As in all rentals there are always a few problems, but the Hidden Valley Rentals dealt with all of it. One of our favorite things about the house is the large windows. Very light and airy. Also the balcony off the master bedroom was a great get away for my 80++ Mother. She loved sitting out there to get away for a few minutes from all the loud craziness from the little one. My one son complained about having to sleep in a room that was decorated in Pittsburgh Steeler gear (He is a Browns fan), but he slept just fine. The large room on the lower level is perfect for the younger generation. We would definitely rent through Hidden Valley Rentals again.
