A true slice of heaven with incredible views. Secluded with all modern amenities including wifi and cable tv. Views everywhere, with a wrap around deck and a private master suite deck. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths. The master is upstairs with its own private balcony, bath and window seats overlooking a view which reaches to the Sierras. Wood floors and carpeting in the bedrooms. There is a wood stove and a small heater to warm the house up quickly. Lots of windows with great views make you feel as if you are outside. The wrap around deck is a great place to relax, play games or have your meals. You can even hang the hammock up between two trees. The kitchen is fully equipped. It's a great place for 1-2 couples or a small family. Access to everything in the home (wifi, tv's, some games) hiking trails, tennis courts, golf course and the pool during summer months. The clubhouse has many activities and live music every Saturday evening. A true getaway
My husband and I rented A Little Bit of Heaven for my 43rd birthday weekend, 3 nights. The cabin is on the edge of housing for the small town of Pine Mountain Club so it felt remote and was quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. The ad was clearly written for the space, it's exactly as advertised. It's unfortunate that the neighboring monstrosity of a house is placed where it is, blocking the view from the massive floor-to-ceiling windows! But the views from the deck, upstairs bedroom, and kitchen/dining room are fantastic. Waking up with the view upstairs is like sleeping in a tree house. The house is very clean and cozy, modern utilities with good wifi and some TV channels. If you want to have music you should bring your own system, there is nothing in the house for music. Or, just be quiet and listen to the wind and birds in the trees. One afternoon we had a small deer family walk past the deck, and there was a bird nest in a nearby tree. We never met our hosts but getting entry to the cabin and the clubhouse card was easy. Janet and David were easily reached via email or phone. We had zero issues and would rent from them again. Thank you for a fantastic weekend!
If there are people in the "Eye of Sauron" house next door it might feel like you're being spied on, in this house. Especially if you're on the deck of "Heaven" and people are on the decks next door. There would be zero privacy. When we rented the house next door was vacant, so no problems.
Pine Mountain Club is a cute little town. We highly recommend Cafe Silva Bella in town. We got lunch one day and took the plentiful leftovers back up to the cabin for dinner! Also the Bear Claw Bakery for their croissants. Plain, or filled with ham or turkey and swiss. Makes for an excellent breakfast. We drove over to Reyes Creek to check out the campground there and had lunch in the tavern, great fresh food there too even though it's "out in the middle of nowhere." The Museum in Frazier Park is not to be missed, the building is tiny but the historian has stuffed it full of local history! Carrizo Plain is nearby as is the San Andreas Fault.
When we first arrived at Little Bit of Heaven, we were in shock. The pictures on this site do NOT show how peaceful and beautiful this cabin is. As we walked up to the house, we were greeted by a mama and baby dear on the outside of the fence. And a few fluffy squirrels that like to watch us from the railing. So cute. When we walked inside, WOW!! Perfectly set up and has almost everything you need minus the groceries. Tons of blankets and pillows, toys in the beautiful chest by the stairs, dvds, and some great books and informational Kern county stuff. Make sure (weather permitting) to open all the windows and door in the morning to get the fresh breeze flowing through the entire cabin.
Make sure to take the walk to the Enchanted Forest Trail right around the corner. Easy trail for my 4, 8, and 10 yr olds. Nice walk along the creek and the sounds of nature. Some spooky looking trees too. 👻
At night, take full advantage of the balcony off the master bedroom. The stars are soooo bright and their is BILLIONS of them!!
First this in the morning, grab your coffee or favorite hot drink, and go sit on the swing to the left of the rear deck. The woodpeckers will come to the bird feeder and will also land right by you and eat. The ones with the red heads are mean to the other birds, someone needs to teach them how to share.
The hammock was used by all 5 of us after our hikes. It is set up in the perfect area, with a view down the mountain to what looks like a creek. Too steep for me to try though. 😬
Be sure to use the Clubhouse as well. Golf, tons of games for kids and adults, and a park just to name a few.
On our checkout day, we asked the owner if cabin is rented again today and it was not. So they are letting us stay the rest of the day to enjoy the waterfall trail. So accommodating and will quickly answer ALL your questions and give you things to do as well
THANK YOU SO MUCH D & J!! WE WILL BE BOOKING AGAIN VERY SOON!!
My best friend and I stayed here for the weekend of the Wine in the Pines Festival. The setting is beautiful. From the deck, you have a 180• view of the mountains and pines, and you get a tree view from every window. The interior is as pictured. Everything you need and nothing you don't. The bedrooms are cozy, too.
We grilled most of our meals on the gas grill outside. But the kitchen offered modern amenities.
If we had a complaint, it would be that the neighbors can look right into the house if you have the drapes opened. We had to get used to that... Also, the driveway is narrow and steep so you have to back down the drive, which was a little scary. Luckily I have a backup camera on my Jeep. 😁
Overall, we had a lovely time. Can't wait to go back again.
Great location, comfortable home. We had a wonderful weekend.
Directions to and into the cabin were specific and clear. The cabin furnishings were comfortable and cozy. Loved the amount of light coming in from all the windows. Enjoyed the stove fireplace by night and hammock by day. Hearing nothing but the wind in the trees made it desirable and worth the 3 days of restoration. The trail not far from the house was most enjoyable. The place is kept in good shape. The owners were grateful and receptive to attending to small fixer uppers to make the place even better. Our family enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the winter. If you are looking for a place for the family to gather comfortably, make new memories and get away from the noise of the city this is your place. You will not be disappointed. Thank you so much for opening this treasure..
We had a wonderful stay at A Little Bit of Heaven, located at the Pine Mountain Club in the Los Padres National Forrest.
This property is a true gem. From the moment we opened the front door, we felt like we were home. Replete with cozy furnishings and decor, this cabin causes one to instantly let their shoulders down and relax.
I, my wife and our three daughters ages 9, 6 and 3, visited for just two nights, but it was still well worth the drive. The cabin is located in a prime location, affording the visitor incredible views off the front deck and through the amazing A-framed windows which help illuminate the very cozy main room, while also framing in the northwestern side of the home.
It was snowing upon our arrival and continued to do so well into the first evening of our stay, so we made very good use of the woodburning stove and firewood, which is included in the stay. As a matter of fact, we had the stove fully stoked for the entire length of our stay, which we also used to heat the entire home as opposed to running the heater. Having had plenty of experience with wood burning stoves, I chose to bring along my trusty hand hatchet, which I put to good use. I was able to create plenty of kindling, which is necessary to get the fire going the way it's intended to burn.
We enjoyed hiking around the property, too, but we mostly played games, read books and gathered around the fire as a family.
Thank you, David and Janet, for making your Little Bit of Heaven available for all to enjoy!
