Amazing apartment with a spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights at Seastone. It was an amazing apartment with everything you could need for a cozy, comfortable stay. The view was spectacular and enhanced by the outdoor eating area, firepit and shower. Simply did not want our stay to end! Kirk and Wendy were perfect hosts. Although the apartment is downstairs of their home we felt complete privacy and only had Interaction when we had a question. This property is surrounded by trees so though there are houses close by you feel completely private and peaceful.....Yet Sechelt is only a 10 minute drive away where you can find restaurants, grocery stores and gas station.

Beautiful & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Me & my ex partner recently stayed at this wonderful place for my birthday weekend (3rd - 5th March).

The scenery and accommodations are beautiful and the whole weekend was very relaxing.

The space is very private and we appreciated the privacy.

I would love to come back in the summer to use the outdoor space & make the most of the hiking trails.

Wendy and Kirk are gracious hosts and I would highly recommend them, their attention to detail, taste and for choosing such a spectacular location.

Cannot thank them enough.

wonderful view

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from Sechelt where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wendy and Kirk's property.Although the place is small it is cozy, tastefully decorated, and meticulously clean. The kitchen area is quite tiny but had everything we needed (and I like to cook). There is an outdoor eating area which we couldn't use too much due to the cool September weather but dining out there in the summer would be lovely. The view from inside and of course from the terrace of the Sechelt inlet and the coastal mountains was dreamy. It was a pleasure to sit by the fire with a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the fall landscape. My husband and I loved the hike into Skookumchuk rapids where we saw kayakers playing in the tidal rapids (ask at the visitor's center in Sechelt about tidal peak times) and there is a little walk in Porpoise Provincial Park nearby with a stream running through an old growth forest that feels like a fairy tale.It was a memorable holiday and we appreciated the privacy of this accommodation. Thanks again to Kirk for telling me about the fawns visiting the property so I could enjoy a close up photo op with them.

Beautiful suite in a peaceful nature setting

  • 5 of 5

We recently enjoyed 5 nights at Seastone with hosts Kirk & Wendy. The suite is compact and comfortable with all the amenities you need to prepare easy meals. There is a BBQ for guest use and we prepared dinner outdoors almost every night. The dining table is outdoors on the deck and it was the perfect spot to eat with a spectacular view of Sechelt Inlet. There was also a wonderful outdoor shower that we enjoyed using and looking out to the view. Once while showering my husband spotted a racoon in the yard! The spacious and private backyard offers a fire pit (sadly we couldn't use due to a provincial campfire ban), deck chairs to lounge, adirondack chairs for reading. Honestly we could have spent the entire 5 days in the yard with that amazing view! The hosts are helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome in their home. Kirk had some great recommendations including the local kayak rental, Pedals and Paddles, which we rented from and we enjoyed an excellent kayak trip up the inlet. When we return to the Sunshine Coast in the future, this is the first place we will look to book again. Thanks!

Fantastic, private accomodation and amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay! The bedroom is very large, the kitchen/living area is small (though it extends to an outside covered porch area with the dining table and outside shower); everything is well laid out and the suite has everything you need. It is very tastefully decorated, and the bed was quite comfortable. The view, from anywhere in the suite, or from the huge private space in the back yard, is amazing. The property overlooks the inlet, so lots to see with boats coming and going, seals in the water, hummingbirds and eagles flying around. A mama deer with her two fawns visited several times, and we also saw a raccoon in a nearby tree. Kirk and Wendy were very friendly - gave us our privacy but were available any time to provide recommendations on things to do or places to eat. The property is just outside of town; there is nothing (except beach!) within walking distance, but it was only about a 10 minute drive to a large grocery store, gas station and liquor store. There is so much to do in the area, all within an hour's drive - we were torn between getting out to experience everything, and just soaking up the mid day sun on the deck, or relaxing by the firepit and enjoying the stars. We weren't able to get it all in, even though we stayed 5 nights. We would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a nice relaxing get away, or as a base for exploring the area.

Map

Only 2 hours from Vancouver; 40 minutes from the Langdale ferry terminal at Granthams Landing in Gibsons; 10 minutes from Sechelt village; and just 5 minutes from Porpoise Bay Provincial Park.

Take Highway No. 1 to the Horseshoe Bay terminal and board the Langdale ferry to the Sunshine Coast (40 minutes; for sailing times visit BC Ferries). After disembarking, travel on Highway 101 and follow the signs to Sechelt. Approaching Sechelt follow the signage to Porpoise Bay Provincial Park (leaving Highway 101, turn right on Wharf Road and right again on Porpoise Bay/Sechelt Inlet Road). Sandy Hook is 3 minutes past the park just beyond Hidden Grove, turn left at the Sandy Hook sign and follow Sandy Hook Road all the way down towards the water. Turn left at Coracle Drive.
