We stayed in this beautiful home for 4 nights and it couldn't have been nicer! It was filled with amazing art, lovely decor and comfortable furniture! It is very spacious and instantly felt like home. We loved sitting out on the great deck each evening. We highly recommend this fabulous home!

Happy renter

  • 4 of 5

We stayed only 3 nights due to our limited vacation days from work. The house was great, even though we used it mainly like a hotel, because we had a family wedding and other family outings. It's a shame we didn't have more time to enjoy the amenities-very spacious rooms, nice kitchen, etc. We did use the laundry facilities, including the iron.

I would recommend a place for notes, since we found the entry light burned out and had a smoke alarm beep due to the battery.

Thanks for sharing your lovely home.

Great backyard for entertaining!

  • 5 of 5

Three of us spent a week here as a home base for many day trips around the island. This property is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. After long days of travel it was a welcoming and quiet with lots of room to relax.

We had many bbqs and the back yard is perfect for gatherings. There are fresh herbs to use for cooking, a beautiful eating area and many trees and vines for privacy. I would recommend this property as a great place to stay while in Campbell River. We were sad to leave.

Wonderful venue we used for an 80th birthday party and family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our family planned a surprise birthday party for our Mom/Nanny's 80th surprise birthday party in Campbell River. We decided to look for a place to stay for some of the out of town guests that could double as the venue to host the gathering. After searching the available rentals in the area we decided on Heron's Hideaway and are we ever glad we did!

The house was perfect for all our needs. It has everything you could ever need/want and the weather even cooperated allowing us to expand our gathering out to the lovely patio and garden area. The area is perfect for kids to run and play. We even had some outdoor activities set up for those that wished to play.

The inside of the house had lots of room for all of us to spread out and visit as well as set up a buffet dinner and brunch. Games at the large round table off the kitchen area were a popular spot as well.

We would highly recommend this rental and there was even some chatter about the possibility of another get together in the future now that we have a place large enough to hold all of the family comfortably!!

The owner was very pleasant to deal with and any questions we had were very quickly responded to. We hope that you found the house was left in the great condition we found it in when we arrived.

Extended Family Quality Time

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Heron's Hideaway was a bit like staying in the home of a gracious and very hospitable relative. Though we didn't meet the owner, we spent a week living in her home, filled with her treasures so it feels a bit like we know her. The house was spacious and very well equipped, both inside and out. We enjoyed the very quiet neighbourhood, short walks to the ocean, and being close enough to town and lots of attractions to keep it interesting and varied. We had quite a lot of people join us over the week we spent there and we never ran out of dishes and everyone slept comfortably. The house is comfortable and spacious, great for groups to gather around the kitchen or dining room tables or lounge in the comfortable living room or on the very inviting back deck. Blackberries, plums, apples growing in the yard were enjoyed by all. We would definitely recommend this home as well as the Campbell River area for a delightful extended family or group getaway.

Amazing Home, Beautiful Gardens, Delightful Owners! Perfect Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Heron's Hideaway for a family reunion in Campbell River. Our stay couldn't have been nicer! The house was fabulous for our reunion and comfortably slept several families. The house itself is beautifully maintained and decorated with amazing local artwork. The pictures don't do it justice! The backyard is to die for! It is a private haven with a brand new gas grill, a great entertaining deck, vegetable gardens & flower gardens, fruit trees & bushes, artist's studio, and greenhouse. We had several reunion dinners at the house where we comfortably entertained and fed 30 people. The house was wonderfully stocked and supplied. The house itself is located just a few minutes from Painters Lodge, and is approx. a 10 minute walk to the shore. The location was ideal for us as it allowed for the different families to have access to a variety of activities. It is close to hiking, river fishing, charter fishing, and downtown Campbell River and more. There is plenty of parking as it is a quiet cul-de-sac. I would suggest a vehicle for anyone visiting Campbell River. There is a bus service, but a car will provide access to a larger variety of local activities. The owner's were especially wonderful. Communication was prompt and helpful. We were their first renters for this property and they really made us feel at home. I hope that we were as good guests as they were hosts. Everyone had a wonderful time and were extremely happy with the Herons Hideaway!
