Mt. Lemmon Cabin Rental Photos and Description

The cabin is closed for the winter (December through February). It will re-open in March 2017 for reservations. Have a wonderful Winter!!

***Pets and additional guests (more than 6 people) must be agreed on BEFORE you arrive at check-in. I have been experiencing problems with guests arriving at check-in with pets that were not included in the price and extra people who were not included in the original headcount. You will be required to pay extra for both.

Cozy, secluded cabin escape that puts you in the middle of the Coronado National Forest. Located in Willow Canyon at 7000 feet elevation, this cabin provides you with all the amenities the most discerning travelers desire.

If you are an avid bicyclist, bring your bicycle as Mt. Lemmon is the mecca for on-road mountain bicycling.

If you are a bird watcher, this cabin sits in one of the most active hummingbird sanctuaries in the USA.

If you are a hiker, you are in the midst of hundreds of miles of hiking trails that are within walking (or rather, hiking) distance from the front door of the cabin.

If you are a rock climber, just bring your sense of adventure with you as the cabin is surrounded by world-class rock formations that will definitely challenge you.

Or, if you just want to relax and get a break from the desert heat, then just bring yourself and get back in touch with peace & quiet.

You will not get any closer to nature and the cabin will make it feel like you are at home!! Rose Canyon Lake is just a short 20 minute hike away if you want to cast a fishing line and fish for your dinner.

Come explore the Catalina Mountains and refresh your will not want to leave.

About Greg Downey

I'm an avid outdoorsman and fell in love with Mt. Lemmon the first time I explored it. It is truly a gem...I cannot believe that this beautiful mountain sanctuary is in the middle of the Sonoran Desert.

Greg Downey purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Greg Downey chose Arizona

This cabin is away from the busy traffic that Summerhaven gets during the hot summer months. Additionally, all the perks of mountain life are within walking distance of this cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

Your neighbors are few and far between at this cabin. There is no evidence of the 2003 forest fire that ravaged Summerhaven. You are surrounded by beautiful trees and majestic mountain views. And the cozy cabin makes you feel like you never left home.

Always A Wonderful Stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented this cabin twice now. Everything is exactly like it is pictured. Super Clean! Greg is the most wonderful person, he took the time to show us everything and asked us if we had any questions and told us to call if we did. He took my husband and our friend to show them how to get to the lake even. I would recommend this Cabin to anyone and everyone. We had a wonderful time sitting and watching the little critters, hiking around the area, and just relaxing. If you want to get away this is the place to need to go!

Our Mt. Lemmon Retreat at Greg's Cabin....AWESOME!!! We give it a 10 Star!

  • 5 of 5

Our work retreat at Greg's cabin was to say the least AWESOME! Greg is a super host. He helped us with unloading our truck, which was loaded with tons of stuff to carry into the cabin ~ we bring enough for a month even though we stay only 2 nights. This is our Second time staying at Greg's cabin. It is Guaranteed that this will be the ONLY cabin we will be staying at. We go on our weekend retreat annually and this is above and beyond the best place for it. The cabin is big, clean and very accommodating ~ there were 8 of us that were in the retreat this year and plenty of room for us all. The cabin is not close to others so there is plenty of privacy. It a great place to stroll outdoors and hike if you like and take pictures. The decks outside are wonderful place to gather and enjoy the view, enjoy the fresh mountain air and each other's company. There are 2 table areas on the main floor deck, which has a gas BBQ grill with a stove top is provided. The deck upstairs has lounge chairs to kick back on and enjoy the view too. The cabin has a fire pit out front where you can roast marsh mellow, keep warm and have fun at night (firewood is provided). There is also a fireplace inside to cozy up to (wood provided too). The cabin has an Xbox and games, DVD player, movies, cable TV, and lots of board games to entertain. The kitchen is loaded with all the dishes, pots and all utensils you may need as well as the Bathroom with towels etc. The cabin also provides a couple blow up mattress with inflaters(with linens for them) along with lots of blankets.

The hospitality that Greg provides is above and beyond to make the stay in the cabin a very happy and to have a good time. We will definitely be coming back for our annual retreat here at Greg's cabin.

Thank you so much Greg for all you did and done to make our retreat a very memorable one ~ AGAIN. Lots of laughs and good times shared.

Some of us will be seeing you sooner and staying at your cabin with our families and friends throughout the year too!

~~ Always Humorous and Never a "boring moment" Greg!!! ~~

We give it a 10 Star rating!!

Kid Paradise in Mt. Lemmon

  • 5 of 5

We have been visiting Mt. Lemmon for years and this was our first trip to Greg's cabin in Willow Canyon. Greg met us at the cabin upon check in to greet us and even went as far as helping us take our stuff down. Better greeting that you would find in a 5 star Hotel. If you have kids and are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city head over to Greg's cabin and your kids and the parents will have a blast. There is a kid cave upstairs and a kid extension, which has the look and feel of being in a tree house inside of the main cabin. Greg thanks for everything and we will definitely be back.

We had such an amazing weekend! The cabin is beautiful as well as the surroundings. The cabin has everything you could possibly need and it was honestly the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The owner was so helpful and if you needed anything he was right there to help you out! We will definitely be staying there again!!!!

We had a great time, the cabin is even more beautiful than the pictures and has everything you could ever need. Surroundings are perfect and customer service was excellent in every way. We will definitely stay here again and have already recommended the cabin to friends and family.

Everything You Need

  • 4 of 5

This place really has everything you need to enjoy a mountain getaway. I was there with three girlfriends for a little mountain respite from the heat. We especially enjoyed the upper deck for stargazing and sitting on the porch watching various birds do their thing. The Hummingbird feeder is right by the outside table so we were entertained at close range.

You should know that the bunkbed loft is accessible by climbing up a (sturdy) ladder. But it's a pretty sweet space up there.

Lots of windows everywhere - so great breezes, natural light, and views. Enjoy!
