Overview

About the property

3 bedroom, 2 Bath, Lakeside View

All Mainers call their summer home on the lake 'Camp', if on the Ocean it is a 'Cottage'.

Our Camp can be lived in year round, it is on a full foundation and has a furnace.

The camp was built before a setback was required so the living room is just a few feet from the water and provides unique views of School House Cove and out onto the lake. The camp is so close to the water you can literally see fish swimming in the lake from the living room!

The Camp has a master bedroom en suite upstairs with a queen size bed, the bath has a large shower and double sinks. Down stairs on the main level are 2 more bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with bunkbeds. The living room has a cathedral ceiling with exposed beams a beautiful built in wood burning fireplace, new carpeting and 3 new couches.

What makes this cabin unique

Watch a pair of Loons glide across the cove through the early morning mist while hearing their melodic calls echo over the crystal clear lake.

Across the cove the Bald Eagle sits in the tallest Pine waiting to catch a fish to feed her brood.

The Lake is spring fed, 5 miles long 1 mile wide and is so clear you can literally see the fish swim.

Peaceful bit of heaven

  • 5 of 5

If you love nature and quietness, you will love this camp. Too cold for me to swim but still looked very inviting with it's crystal clear water. Good dock for boating and fishing. We spent a lot of time each evening sitting at table on deck watching the loons fish, feeding the ducks, and watching the colors of sunset. Would recommend to everyone. Upstairs bedroom access could be issue for elderly with steep steps. Beds upstairs and downstairs are very comfortable. Very comfortable living room with one couch looking out front windows. Kitchen complete and gas grill outdoors and fire pit. This camp worked perfectly as home base to day trip. Less than 2 hours from just about and part of Maine from Calais to Portland. Easy access to Acadia Park and nearby town of Ellsworth has everything, even Walmart, Shaws and Hanniford. Closest little town is Otis which has a general store and grill with great Pizza to take and eat on deck and just about anything else you might want including non-ethanol gas. Finally, we had a great time, Thank you Linda!.

We had a great time! Linda and Steve were very welcoming and helpful. Thanks to Mike for making your camp available for us to rent. It was a very positive experience all around. We look forward to returning there next year!

Another Perfect Week on the Pond

  • 5 of 5

We always look forward to our family vacation at Beech Hill Pond. Having rented on the West Shore Road for many years, Camp Sunrise offers a much quieter retreat, with only a rare car heard. The camp layout is perfect for our growing family, allowing room to spread out. We spent most of the time outside though, enjoying the view and a fine week of weather. The ever present ducks make you definitely feel you are at camp, along with the rabbit, chipmunks, squirrels, loons and eagles. The camp offers a great outdoor space, where we all sat around the firepit in the evenings and sat shoreside reading during the day. And then, there's the water. It was cool and refreshing. There is a small beach area which was perfect for our 2-year-old grandson. We spent quite a bit of time in the water swimming and kayaking. We live in Maine, but truly enjoy our annual vacation on Beech Hill Pond. And Camp Sunrise IS a little bit of quiet paradise.

And thanks to Steve and Linda who are the perfect hosts. They make sure their renters are well provided for and taken care of, and they are very responsive to any questions or concerns. The only negative I can come up with is that vacations end and you have to leave.

Wonderful Spot for our Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

WOW! This house is wonderful. This was our family's first time in this area and Beech Hill Pond did not disappoint. The lake is clear and we explored the cove on the sit-on kayaks. The swimming area is sunny and sandy, our kids had a great time following fish and finding mussels. The lake is populated but not too busy. The house is aptly named Camp Sunrise. The mornings are bright! But lounging on the couch with a cup of coffee was the the best start to the day. The AC was a surprise and came in handy on the hottest of hot days. We stayed in the downstairs bedrooms, the upstairs got hot and stayed hot. This worked just fine for our smaller family. It was nice to have a second bath when needed. The kitchen had most supplies to cook and the grill was very easy to use. The camp fire ring was great addition. Wood was provided, but we restocked with fire wood for sale on the way to town. The kids LOVED the local duck family. The ducks were curious and gentle, not messy at all. Our nine year olds, wished that there was a floating dock to swim out too and jump off, but this was a very minor down side to this lovely spot. We lost power one afternoon. It was restored with-in 2 hours, but Linda had already checked in with us and let us know what the contingency plan was. Linda was very attentive! Thank you Linda for all you help to make our camp week so special.

We had a great vacation just relaxing on the deck and dock. Coffee on the dock swing in the morning was priceless.

Fantastic property on a lake which is a gift from God

  • 5 of 5

Sparkling clean, well maintained, air conditioned and fully equipped kitchen with Keurig coffee maker. Sturdy dock with nice canopied double swing. Gin clear 1465 acres of sparkling fish filled waters. Ducks, loons, even a few eagles. Fantastic swimming, kayaking, boating and fishing. Also enjoyed large screen tv at night. We are repeat renters and never want to leave when our stay is over! Gary & Diane Bonin
