West St Paul MN

Family of 8 from Minnesota. In town for our son's wedding.

  • 5 of 5

This home is beautiful inside and out! Our 4 adult children loved it. It was our treat to them. They paid for their own adventures outside of the home. And their own rental cars and airfare. They said it was the cutest house they ever saw. We had plenty of room and enough bathrooms to share. The hot tub and ping pong activities were their favorite. I have trouble with steps and this one level was perfect. My extended family came to Santa Rosa for our son's wedding. They rented over on Gamay St. They visited, as did some of the wedding party. They were very surprised about this well decorated and comfortable home. Over and over they would say: you (Dyer family) picked a wonderful home to rent! We agreed. We were so close to all the wedding appointments and events. My husband and I do not own a cell phone. We navigated this trip with Google maps printed at home. We enjoyed being off the "grid". Our kids had their phones. So my sister's could reach us. Or fb messenger. Everything was in good working order. The owner was easy to reach via email. And answered all of our questions. Our son was in the hot tub and saw a lime tree. So then every Corona beer was served with a lime wedge. We knew groceries were going to cost more than in MN. And they sure did. Some cases double the price. We had fun packed days. Always keeping busy. Can't beat starting the few free mornings we had with coffee on the refreshing patio! We are A/C people, so that was nice to have for mid day. 100% satisfaction with Fritha's rental. All our families commented favorably too! Thank you so much!😎?

Great place to stay for my daughter's wedding preparations.

  • 5 of 5

The house is very nice and in a quiet neighborhood. Our stay was for 5 nights. It has a lovely pool and shaded patio area, with a shaded play structure for small kids that was fun. The kitchen was a good size, and had an adjoining large dinning area, plus outside a large patio table for eating. We stayed several days prior to the event to finish last minute preparations . On the wedding day we had ample space for the bride ,her parents , and 3 bridesmaids to get ready on the morning of this special occasion . It was also very close to the wedding/ reception area, reducing the stress of travel time. We stayed an extra day after the event to relax, enjoy the pool and our wonderful memories !

Perfect Homebase for family wedding

  • 5 of 5

We were in Santa Rosa from the East Coast for a family wedding. The house was a perfect home for our family of six. House was clean and tidy with the right amount of amenities for our stay. The Wii was an extra bonus for our 14 year old. Weather was unusually hot (over 100 degrees), so we used the pool every day of our stay. House was nice and cool with the air conditioning -- something that we were incredibly grateful for!!! Would definitely stay here again.

The property itself was very accommodating for our family.

The floors definitely needed to be washed, I did ask Fritha about a broom ( as they were not well swept) as well the tile floors were filthy. The mop in the garage was dirty. I tried bleaching it to no avail, so we could not use it.

We did vacuum the carpets as they were also dirty, there was a dirty sock on the carpet. The coffe cups had to be washed before we could use them, however, the coffee maker did not work. We did clean the dishwasher as there was mould in it.

I was traveling with my family which included a 2 yr old and a 4 month old, so cleanliness was of the utmost importance. We do not watch TV so the fact that the remote was broken was ot a big issue.

I did leave Fritha some suggestions in her comment book

Having said all of the above I do feel that with some improvement in the above I would be inclined to rent this rental again but only after visiting it first. The

pool was enjoyed by all and my grand daughter loved the play area.

Good but not Great

  • 4 of 5

Here are the positives that I have to say about our stay at this rental:

1. Location was convenient. Easy to get around town (with a car). Close to stores, freeways and wine tasting.

2. Rooms were good sized. Beds were comfortable and furniture was in good repair.

3. Kitchen was well equipped. Only thing I felt we were missing was a baking sheet that we wanted to bake chicken on.

4. Parking was easy. Was also nice to have access to a garage since we brought bikes with us.

5. Hot tub was enjoyable. Clean and in good working order.

The house overall worked well for our group of 5 adults. We were comfortable and had enough communal and personal space.

We did have a few things that were drawbacks to the property that I think could be easily remedied.

1. The house wasn't very clean, specifically the kitchen. The bedrooms, bathrooms, bath linens and bed sheets seemed clean but the kitchen and comforters were not clean. The kitchen was our main issue. Right away when we first walked in we noticed small piles of dirt/dust and food or other particles on the floor. Appeared as thought maybe someone started to sweep and then left. The countertops were not clean at all. They had food on them and when we cleaned them they were sticky and our cleaning cloths were brown with dirt. The dining table was the same. I would say that our group does have high expectations for cleanliness but we aren't overly concerned with it just disappointing when you pay a cleaning fee and then you have to clean the kitchen yourself. The cleaning crew binder was sitting out when we arrived and it just looks as thought the cleaning crew hadn't properly gone through the checklist. At one point we also saw a mouse or rat run in the kitchen. This could have been part of the issue. The owner was responsive when I did point out the pest problem and she was attentive to that issue.

2. The pool wasn't in working condition. This wasn't an issue for us during our stay since we didn't want to go in but we did sit around the pool and the pool cleaning/filter system never came on. We only know it wasn't in working condition because we have an identical system and it needs to run/filter every day even if the pool isn't in use to keep the water clean.

3. I always think that small touches go a long way. My only recommendation would be to have conditioner in the showers. It's a pain to have to go buy that and I know it isn't too expensive to provide.

Overall we enjoyed our stay.
