This gorgeous home is located in a new development on the edge of Lead S.D. where you have the amenities of town while feeling as if you are in the country. The views of the Black Hills from this home are among the best around. Watch the deer and turkeys wander through the back 1 acre yard daily while relaxing on the back patio. The master bedroom has its own deck with the same fabulous views and wildlife scenery. It has a heated 2 car garage that makes for easy cleaning of anything you may want shined up. Deadwood is just 3 miles away with local transportation to events and access to the beautiful Michelson trail is just around the corner. You will not be disappointed!
We recently stayed in this Lead property - it was comfortable and for the most part as described. Kitchen is well appointed and the use of the washer and dryer is very convenient. It could use a deep clean, lots of dust under things and on fixtures, etc. Furniture could use a cleaning - the couch in the main living area has one broken/damaged arm. The linens in one of the bedrooms were ripped and very worn. The mattress in the master was worn and not comfortable to sleep in as it sagged. The unit is described as having AC, the day we arrived it had been unseasonably warm, and we were surprised to find only one window AC unit in the master. We contacted the owners and they assured us that having the windows open cools the unit properly, and I am sure that is the case, however we have kids with allergies and would not have rented a home knowing we would have to have the windows open all day. Michelle was very helpful and directed us to a plug in unit in the garage that we could use in the main portion of the home. That worked reasonably well during our stay. The home is described as sleeping 8, we had 7 in our party (2 adults and our 5 kids) and were surprised to find that there were no pull out couches - only the 3 beds. This left our 6' tall 15 year old son sleeping on a couch for the entire week. In my opinion, unless you plan to put small children on the couches, this unit only sleeps 6 comfortably. The front deck is beautiful to watch the sunrise in the morning, however the railing is loose and we didn't feel comfortable with our young children out there so we didn't use it as we had hoped. The unit is centrally located - easy drive to Mt. Rushmore and other SD attractions as well as historic downtown Lead and several restaurants.
Loved our stay! Saw some deer and turkeys hanging out in the backyard a couple mornings. Michelle the owner was available with questions if needed and very helpful with things to do and eat around the area.
Awesome home...lots of room. Everyone had their space. We grilled out every night and the kids used the gas fire pit to make smores. Enjoyed the fireworks from the front deck. Lots of deer and turkey and a sight front deck view overlooking the city of Lead. Michelle was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended. .
The house was beautiful and well kept. From the front window and balcony, great view of Lead and surrounding hills. Lots of wildlife around as well. Chop Stake Restaurant as well as Lewies great places to eat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was clean, comfortable and quiet with lovely views from throughout the cabin and from the patio and deck. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
Loved the cabin. It was just as described. We had a blast. Close to deadwood. Our family loved the area. We watched the forth of July fireworks right from the deck. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The owner was very good at answering my questions and concerns. We saw several deer and turkeys while we were there. The view was breathtaking. Thanks Michelle.
