We poured a lot of creative energy into creating this space so that our out of town families could have a nice retreat during their visits here with our family. We're happy to open it up to others to enjoy as well. We live across the garden from the Sunflower Guest Studio and have been renovating, building, creating and gardening here for fourteen years. We appreciate living amidst the natural beauty of Oregon, with the coast one hour away and the mountains just a two hours drive.
Katie Goldberg purchased this studio in 2010
The studio is located within easy walking distance of the 287 acre Willamette Park. It features miles of walking and biking trails, a full frisbee gold course, playing fields, playground and Willametter river views and access. We really enjoy having this natural open space literally out our back door.
This is the second time we have stayed at Katie and Josh's studio. It's clean, very pretty and comfortable. The hosts are lovely. We'll be back.
I love this little studio! I felt like I was sleeping in a treehouse at night listening to the leaves rustle but with all the modern amenities like radiant floor heating, updated kitchen and appliances, cozy bed and luxurious shower...best of both worlds!
I rented the studio for 4 nights. I came to visit my daughter, who lives and works in Corvallis. The studio was very clean and had all I needed. I loved coming "home" to this studio at the end of the day. Or, when my daughter was working, it provided and nice relaxing place to be. The surrounding area is perfect for walks. I was able to have my daughter over for dinner a couple of nights, as the kitchen was well equipped. The chickens were fun to greet in the morning, however I never heard a peep out of them. The decor was very warm and calming. I didn't run into Katie, the owner, but I felt well cared for. Thank you!
We rented the Studio for 1 month for purposes of spending some time with our son and 2 year old grandson. It was the best investment we ever made for it provided us a picture/timelaps of a 2 year old grandsons development stages.
The Studio had all the modern day amenities (even toys for our grandson), was very clean, private, and the AC worked as it was needed since Corvallis's temps exceeded 100 degrees in July.
It is located closed to the city, parks, restaurant, golf courses and still has the country feel.
We highly recommend the Sunflower Studio and will make our home away from home again on future visits to Corvallis.
Katie & Josh, thanks for your hospitality
I stayed for 3 weeks at the Sunflower Studio. I came from Wisconsin to spend some time with my daughter and granddaughter. Having previously lived in Corvallis for two decades nearly 19 years ago, thisnteip felt like "returning home". This studio was the absolute perfect fit for me. The chickens provided a lot of entertainment each morning as I tossed them some scraps. The location allows for privacyas the studio is situated across a big beautiful yard/garden from the main house. The decor inside is a little "zen like". Beautiful and simple. It's well stocked with necessities. The food coop is less than 1 mile away; a lovely riverside park and walking trail is even closer. Downtown is about the same distance.
I teach a university online class - the studio was an excellent work environment for me while my grandchild was in school. The owners, Katie and Josh, were unintrusive while also very responsive. Overall, this was a very positive experience and I highly recommend this roomy studio.
