Creekside 27 Acre Retreat 2 Br Plus Loft, 2 Full And 2 Half Baths. Sleeps 6
About Dawn Grinenko
We fell in love with the quiet beauty of Hayesville, Julie Mountain and the Tusquittee Valley after purchasing a vacation home nearby. We purchased this property as part of our lifetime dream of developing a place for rest, discernment and restoration for others after difficult journeys in life. Our ultimate plan is to develop this property into a place of retreat for families who have a child or parent with a serious illness. We are both retiring from the health care field and hope to continue to serve in a healing capacity to all who visit The Still Place on Compass Creek
Dawn Grinenko purchased this House in 2013
Why Dawn Grinenko chose Hayesville
Grace and patience brought us to this property. We had planned to actualize our dream at a farm in Florida. But after Dawn was diagnosed with Melanoma cattle ranching and farming in the hot Florida sun was no longer an option. After being unable to afford farm land in the Hayesville area this beautiful serene setting came on the market and as they say the rest shall be history as it unfolds. We hope you will be a part of layering this place with the love of your family and friends as we develop the property in the next several years.
What makes this House unique
Compass Creek is the true gem of this property for all ages. The soothing sound of the water is like a lullaby. The wild rainbow trout are more beautiful than any gem we might find in the ruby, sapphire and garnet laden hills surrounding us. Glimpsing the sparkle of the creek water from each of the rooms is sometimes breath-taking as the water dances around the rocks. The property is situated in a quiet, friendly community with access to trails on our 27 acre property and surrounding National Forest.

This was a perfect vacay for what I was looking for. Couldn’t have found a more perfect place. Dawn and Craig were amazing. They were thorough with showing us around the house and very accommodating. From the fireplace, to the fire pit, the treehouse and the hobbit house, the creek behind the house to the hiking in front of the house, the stillness of just being, were just what we needed. I brought my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids, and we all had a blast. I cannot wait to return.
Thank you Linda. We can’t wait for you to come back...maybe when it’s a little warmer so the tykes can do a little creek dippin’!
This exceeded our expectations! The property is beautiful with so many things to do for young and old(ish). Can’t wait to return!
We had a blast!!
Our girls weekend was awesome! Thanks for letting us stay. :-)
This place was just as advertised. Off the beaten path, but not too far from attractions if that is what you like. Personally, sitting outside by the fire/creek was the best part as I am a city dweller. Even though my kids are older (15 and 18), they loved the tree house and hobbit house. Great place for a family to enjoy each other!
Great Family Getaway
This property has loads of fun activities for a family with children. Great outdoor space, games, books, movies, etc. It is close enough to town for food and provisions but remote to offer quiet and relaxation.
Thanks Kelly. You win guest of the year for leaving the fridge so sparkling clean. Thanks for paying it forward for The Still Place families!
