The cottage location and atmosphere was amazing. The interior was very comfortable and spacious. Tina and Ian did a great job making sure the cottage was stocked with everything one may need. The exterior setting was calm and serene with a beautiful view of nature/gardens. It was a short walk away to the beach and many restaurants/bars. Both hosts were very kind and accommodating. They were always willing to drop us off somewhere if we needed it and were nice enough to take us on some outdoor adventures. Overall, my girlfriend and I enjoyed our time and experience very much and wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future. Thanks again Tina and Ian for a fantastic Nassau experience!

Great cottage with a lovely garden

  • 5 of 5

Silk cotton cottage is a very comfortable and well equipped place to stay. The garden is lovely and a great place to sit and relax after a busy day exploring Nassau. Tina and Ian were very welcoming and they were extremely helpful. They happily gave us lifts to places we wanted to visit and the trip out on their boat was really special. We had a great holiday and we would stay here again if we were ever to return to Nassau.

Ian and Tina are very nice owners. From going out to Rose Island, making sure we could get to where we needed or just simply relaxing in the yard. It was a great week, the weather and water was beautiful as well.

Wonderful cottage! Wonderful hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week at Silk Cotton Cottage. Tina and Ian are so gracious and welcoming. The cottage is spotless and very well equipped. We actually spent most of our time in the cottage and sitting outside, although the beach and excellent restaurants are a close walk away. There is much to do in Nassau and Paradise Island, but we preferred to relax and read the books that we brought ---not your typical spring breakers! Next time, we'll try exploring some of the smaller islands. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this delightful property.

Charming, welcoming, relaxing,

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is fantastic, very private, the hosts are like family and when you return from your daily excursions, you feel like you are at home. This cottage was a great place to stay, centrally located, Tina and Ian had great suggestions for things to do, very accommodating. Great find. Would go back in a heart beat. Having Mr. Major at the airport to pick us up and to drive us back was safe, efficient and we never worried that we were forgotten.

Beautiful one day and Perfect the Next

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous vacation with Tina ann Ian at the Silk Cotton Cottage. They were the perfect hosts. They offered good advice on were to go and what to to see and went above and beyond with all the extra things they offer to make your vacation very memorable. They drove us around the island showing us the sights, took us to buy groceries, gave us wine when the liquor store was closed and made us some conch salad which was delicious. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything you needed. We would like to thank Tina and Ian for a fabulous vacation and would have no hesitation in recommending this VRBO to anybody who wants to vacation in Nassau.

About Tina & Ian

We grew up in the islands and know Nassau and the surrounding islands like the back of our hands.

We love Silk Cotton Cottage because it marries Old World charm with modern comforts.

We especially like the laid back tropical setting with the convenience of nearby beaches, shops, restaurants and attractions.

If we're not working, we're out in the boat exploring the outer islands, snorkeling and fishing or just relaxing in the crystal clear water off a beach at Rose Island. If the sea's rough, we putter around the garden, grill and chill.

We have carved various unique spots out of the garden for relaxing and bird watching.

In season, when the mangoes are ripe, the beautiful bright red and green Bahama Parrots feast in the silk cotton tree.

We get Red Starts, Buntings and Warblers in the cooler months and the garden's always alive with humming birds and thrashers.

Why Tina & Ian chose Nassau

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is a lovely cottage. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Providence. It is very cozy and safe, and meticulously taken care of by the owners. I certainly had everything I needed while staying there. It is at the end of a quiet cul de sac and nestled in the back of a beautiful old garden featuring exotic native trees and plants; very peaceful. At the same time, it is ideally located for walking to the beach or taking the bus in no time to downtown Nassau and Paradise Island and all of the amenities they have to offer, including easy excursions to the pristine Family Islands. Love the place, and you can’t beat the price. So much nicer and much more of an authentic experience than staying in a hotel, too.
