We purchased this property a couple years ago and went to work transforming it into the type of vacation rental that WE would want to stay in. Every aspect of the vacation experience was taking into account when building it. Both Darryl and I have been raised in the Comox Valley and we have extensive knowledge of the local area, from the best local eateries and music venues to check out, to the ideal spots for picnics and walks, to fishing adventures and everything in between. It has been a constantly evolving labour of love for us and we hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we enjoy making it happen!
This property has been designed and built with vacation rentals in mind. Inspired by the view, we strive to make the most of what the property has to offer and love to provide our guests with the little extras that make a stay special!
Great location, great ambiance, great hosts!
September 12-15. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back. The property was very nice and clean inside and outside. The patio was lovely and nice to sit outside for our breakfast and dinner. The kitchen was nice, but we wished it had a microwave oven. The living room was very comfortable, but wish there was cable to watch the news. The bed was nice and comfortable. I appreciate the soft towels in the bathroom. The whole layout, decor and all the small touches made a difference.
We felt like home and were close to ALL our activities. Very well situated, side beach walking and clean studio.
We stayed in the studio for 3 nights and loved it. The suite is beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The kitchen is super cute and had everything we needed to cook our meals! We really enjoyed the sunny patio area for drinking our morning coffee, BBQing dinner, eating and playing cards. Loved taking the beach cruisers for bike rides along Marine Drive and the seaside trail. We didn't get to take the kayaks out due to an injury but I'm sure we would have had a ton of fun doing that as well. The pub, liquor store and small market are literally a stones throw away from the property which was super convenient. The beach is right across the street as well and we had fun exploring and walking along the shore. We really appreciated the little things too such as the bath robes provided, local coffee and french press, home made soap, big comfy bedding etc. And we were especially grateful that our fur baby was welcome! It can be hard to find accommodation that's dog friendly. He had a great time. We couldn't have been any happier with our stay and would highly recommend it! Would definitely return :)
Loved our stay! Very private and a perfect location for beach walking. The studio was very clean and quiet! We will be returning.
We had the Ocean View Suite and it was great. The layout was very well thought out with a great kitchen, dining area (one outside too), living room area, bathroom and bedroom. The TV was not working but the Netflix was. You have some great views of the ocean, walking area and Roy's pub which was outstanding for life music drink and good food, very short walking distance. The owners are very considerate of their renters and we felt very much at home. We will be back
What a great space. The owners put a lot of love and work into this place and it shows. We stayed a week and it was perfect for us. We like to cook, and the kitchen was decently stocked with cookware. We like privacy, and the layout of the place secluded us from our neighbors. we wanted a view, and the bay was there every day for our enjoyment. We like a nightcap, and a great pub was around the corner. We wanted to explore the island, and this place was centrally located. We will definitely return if we come back to the area.
This oceanside neighbourhood is a bird sanctuary with birds from all over flocking to its shores during the cooler months. The weather in this bay is often sunnier than inland as the clouds like to stick to the mountains and is sheltered from direct winds.
There are many picnic areas and benches to enjoy the scenery as well as a nearby kayak launch point. The north end of the road is home to the Royston Shipwrecks. Our property faces south east to the Comox Harbour.
The Comox Valley is rich in recreation activities and the arts. Pretty much anything you can dream up is available to you!
A couple of our loved local spots are:
The Goose Spit, Nymph Falls, Mt. Washington, Miracle Beach, Hornby and Quadra Islands, The Water Parks (Cumberland Park and Courtenay Lewis Centre)
Our favorite places to shop and eat are:
Waverley Hotel (live music and food), Atlas Cafe, Locals Restaurant, Cumberland Village and 5th St (for shopping), The White Whale Pub, The Broken Spoke, Gladstone Brewery, The Cumberland Brewing Company, Darkside Chocolates, The Taco Bus at the Comox Marina, The Farmer's Market (Saturdays @ the Fair Grounds)
