Great beach house

  • 4 of 5

the house was very nice and well furnished even the food supplies like spices and cooking utensils were more than adequate. We enjoyed the fire pit and peace and quite. We were not really pleased with the brown water but there's nothing you can do about that. We had some really excellent seafood at the local seafood places. The food was super at Posey's and Angelo's and Sons.

QUIET, PEACEFUL, RELAXING VACATION

  • 5 of 5

Our family, 4 adults, 2 children (11 and 12) and our dog Optimus spent Memorial Day Week at Tiki Nuki. It was so relaxing! We absolutely loved the house and the location! The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. It was very well stocked. There are very few places to eat out, so we prepared all of our meals in the gorgeous very well equipped kitchen. Each bedroom was absolutely beautiful! The beds were soooo comfortable! Our cell phones and electronics had limited access, but that was a blessing in itself. We were there to "get away from it all".

The ocean and the beach are not like the Destin or Panama City beach area. We only saw a total of around 20 other people on the beach during the entire week. We wouldn't have seen that many people if we had not taken long walks on the beach in the mornings and at night. It was like being on our very own deserted island. The beach is not manicured and the water is not clear or blue-green in color. The beach is in its natural state and the ocean is murky but full of life. We swam in the ocean every day. We sat on the beach and watched fish and dolphins jump out of the ocean every day. We caught different types of crabs (one large horseshoe crab), starfish, sand dollars and stingrays. We picked up beautiful shells on the beach every day. We got up early every morning to watch the sunrise from the balconies. It was unbelievably quiet and peaceful in the mornings. All you could hear were the gentle sounds of the ocean crashing into the sand and the birds singing when they flew by. No sirens, no cars driving by, no doors slamming....just quiet. We watched many types of birds fly by each morning and dive into the ocean to find food. We rented the kayaks from Byron and Jane and used them to explore the shoreline and to fish. We caught fish every single day. This part of Florida is untouched by tourism. It is natural. It is BEAUTIFUL!!

We visited the Gulf Specimen Aquarium which was just a few minutes away. We really enjoyed learning about all of the sea creatures that we were encountering on our daily walks on the beach. We also had dinner on our last night and Angelo and Son's Seafood Restaurant. The food was excellent! We highly recommend that you make a stop at Angelo's during your visit. Our week was exactly what our family needed. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and relaxing place to stay, this is the place for you. We can't wait to visit again!

Graduation Celebration

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time at the beach house - celebrating my niece's graduation from FSU. The home was nicely furnished and had everything we needed. The owners were responsive to all my questions and made everything very easy. The entire family enjoyed our time there and would love to come back soon! :)

Peaceful, Fantastic Views, Close to Nature

  • 4 of 5

We spent six beautiful weeks at Tiki Nuki and enjoyed many hours walking the beach, sitting on the porch watching dolphins, pelicans and many other birds. We had a special experience with the dolphins when they approached us while we were kayaking. The kitchen was very well equipped but a little short in space to store food for our longer stay. We missed having a smaller propane grill...guess Canadians are not used to using large, slow charcoal grills (lol). Our visitors found there was a shortage of space to unpack suitcases and store clothes in the guest bedrooms. The outdoor firepit was great!! Thanks Byron and Jane for being so helpful.
