About the property

Sweet Little Cabin in the Trees....

Welcome to The Cabin on Creekside Commons. This secluded getaway offers the best of both worlds: a beautiful, rural setting with an easy 10 minute drive (or 30 minute scenic bike ride) to both downtown Eureka and downtown Arcata.

Creekside Commons is a beautiful jointly owned five acre retreat in the heart of the redwoods. Our goals include eliminating boundaries and pursuing common goals when possible. One goal we have in common, is to be able to provide a healing and restful retreat for our guests. Whether you choose to stay at the Cottage or the Cabin we hope your stay with us is rejuvenating and adventuresome.

Step outside and into an enchanted redwood grove,, enjoy fresh vegetables from our organic garden, luxuriate with an outdoor shower or hot tub, meditate in your own redwood sanctuary grove, spend an evening by the fire pit.

We are excited to be able to offer an on site massage therapist. Ryan Knotts has 9 years experience as a massage therapist and is trained in many massage/bodywork modalities including:

Swedish techniques for those who want a relaxing massage that increases circulation and decreases stress, deep tissue/ therapeutic body work for those who have specific ailments, clothed body work and energy massage for those who prefer a stretching style or Reiki style massage and acupressure for those who prefer pressure point and meridian therapy. His focus is on listening to the body and breath, and finding ways to work with the client to exact real change in the muscles and overall health.

There's plenty to see and do in the area. Enjoy events such as the Kinetic Sculpture Race, North Country Fair, Film Festivals and weekly farmer's markets. Humboldt county has multiple wine tasting rooms and craft beers. Live music and theatre are cornerstones of Humboldt county culture. For the outdoor adventurer, enjoy the majestic redwood forests, guided birdwatching tours, miles of coastal beaches and sunny days at inland rivers.

Simple, comfortable and adequate place to get away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

The property is exactly as described on the website. If you like what you see you will not be disappointed. Very simple and down to earth but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. John respects your privacy but is available to help you if necessary. The hot tub is an added plus if enjoy that type of thing and we definitely do. We had our dog and cat with us and they both enjoyed staying here as well. Highly recommend taking the scenic "Lost Coast " loop drive via Ferndale and the "Howland Hill Rd" scenic drive through the old growth redwoods in Crescent City. This was our second visit, we have explored a lot of areas along the entire Redwood Hwy and these were definitely the top two. Will definitely stay at John's again on our next visit.

A quaint escape and little slice of heaven. It was an amazing place to recharge and breathe.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved the quiet getaway from our busy lifestyle. It's a perfectly placed little cabin in a quiet area with all of the basic things you need. We packed an ice chest and enjoyed making breakfast and eating on the deck. Local food and drinks are close by. Live blues/jazz music Saturday nights at Speakeasy. Overall, we throughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend the cabin.

What A Gem!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at this adorable little cabin this last weekend for our anniversary and it was perfect! The owner John was so helpful and attentive, he even messaged us on our drive to let us know about road closures! Beautiful property, lovely walkway, and warm hospitality, what more can you ask for?! We didn't get a chance to cook much while we were there, but we will be back! Thanks John!

Sweet Little Cabin was warm and cozy

  • 5 of 5

This was a very nice place to stay with accommodating hosts. When my partner needed access to Wifi, they went above and beyond trying to work with him to connect, even offering to loan their tablet. It was unique, cozy, comfortable, artistic, private and I would recommend it to anyone.

Comfortable Stay at the Cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was comfy and clean and cute. I would recommend it for a stay in the Eureka/Arcata area. It is close to everything, yet far enough to escape the noise and city lights. The only drawback for us was the kitchen area, it is very tiny and only equipped with a high tech hot plate, and microwave for cooking. There is a small refrigerator and coffee pot and a great supply of dishes and utensils. There are many places to eat in Eureka and Arcata, so if discovering the food scene is your thing rather than cooking at where you're staying, no problem. I did manage to cook up a few nice dinners and breakfast each morning, it just took a little creativity! The owner is very helpful and super nice!
