The house was very nice.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the house, but there was a lot of road construction going on. We had hoped we would be in walking distance to Market Street, but we had to drive every day. But we had several Historical tours of the town, and felt our trip was a success.

Great place, great time

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for opening your home to us! It was a great place for us and our two daughters to launch our daily adventures into Charelston. The house was very comfortable and nicely appointed. We were able to walk everywhere ( we got our steps in for sure)! Bonus points for proximity to hominy grill and Fuel. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to Charleston.

Great location, underwhelming amenities and condition

  • 3 of 5

The location was great and the owner was easy to work with. The layout was all I could hope for. The condition of the condo was not great. As I've seen in other reviews, the condo didn't have a stock of toilet paper for some reason. The shower curtain was moldy, the shower handle was broken and the bed frame does not fit one of the beds, leaving a tripping hazard in one of the rooms.

Good space in a good location

  • 4 of 5

This home worked well for three adults. It's easy walking distance to some really good restaurants, but not really to the central business/touristy area of downtown. It is the downstairs half of a home. Noise wasn't a problem, except on New Year's Eve (not surprising). Toilet got stopped up and I ended up getting a decent plunger from a hardware store myself to fix it.

Would give 4 1/2 stars if possible. Great stay overall.

  • 4 of 5

I loved the feeling of home this property gives. Nice furniture, great centralized downtown location indeed. Good parking with surveillance. Not far from islands and beaches. Awesome cooking supplies. I would recommend this property before most extended stay hotels.

Gorgeous home, perfect location. Only 2 minor complaints

  • 4 of 5

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay in Charleston and had a wonderful vacation. Below I've made a few notes on what I liked and didn't like that I think would be useful to know for anyone else. I'd visit Charleston again sometime in the future. It was a cool city with a lot of great places to eat and a few fun things to do that I can't find back home. The historical sites are also 1 of a kind and the feel of the city itself is very different than what I'm accustomed to (in a good way).

The Good:

- Private parking lot, didn't have to street park

- Interior was well decorated and the AC worked amazingly well for how hot/humid it was outside

- Everything in the kitchen you would need to cook full meals

- Far enough outside of heart of downtown to not be swamped by people/cars, but close enough to drive 5mins to anywhere worth going.

- Enough room that 4 people didn't feel cramped

- Comfortable furniture for sitting in the living room and enjoying a night hanging out

The Not so Good:

- The mattresses on the beds were so firm that they may as well have been solid pieces of furniture. My girlfriend who recently had shoulder surgery woke up in pain every morning and my back was sore from my body not being able to sink into the mattress enough to contour my spine well.

- The walls are paper thin. Even with the AC running for white-noise, if the neighbors on the porch next door were outside, I could hear their entire conversation as if they were in the room with me. They were having a party (6-8 people) well past 3am one night and because I could hear them perfectly, I was able to figure out names based on voice, and their topics of conversation verbatim. I had to walk out there on 2 separate nights (where they were out drinking as a group and talking past 2am) to ask them to keep it down so I could sleep. They cooperated each time without incident. I also notified Josephine of this happening and she was very helpful in finding a remedy.

Live like a local in one of the most vibrant parts of downtown Charleston: Upper King & Spring Street with the hottest restaurants, bars and shops all within walking distance. Located 'below the Crosstown' near the historic part of the downtown peninsula, you will be only 5 minutes from Upper King Street and will benefit from an easy escape to the area's beaches or a short walk to the many attractions Charleston has to offer including museums, dining, boutiques, art galleries, the historic waterfront, MUSC, College of Charleston, the Citadel and the Cooper River Bridge.

For local dining right in the neighborhood, enjoy the amazing Vietnamese sandwich shop Bon Bahn Mi right across the street, Xiao Bao Biscuit which is one of the city's most talked about restaurants, and Five Loaves Cafe, a true Charleston gem...ask anyone, they will rave about this place! And for dessert, two of the best bakeries in Charleston are within walking distance: Sugar and Wild Flour Bakery. A perfect weekend treat! (this is only a small sampling of walk-able places, we are happy to share many more ideas, just ask!)

For yoga enthusiasts, there are two fantastic yoga studios within blocks-Bikram Yoga and Mission Yoga. This house really does provide the perfect location for those looking to explore downtown but also makes it so simple to take a trip out to the beaches or one of the many nearby locations where water sports such as sailing, fishing, boating, kayaking, and paddle boarding are available.

An action packed location fused with a quiet escape. Breath easy with access to up to two off street parking spots. Safe, quiet, centrally located this house is fully updated with every amenity you need!

Please do not hesitate to contact us, we are more than happy to provide many more suggestions on places to go, things to see, and how to get the most out of your trip to Charleston.
