Overview

About the property

Master Suite,2 Baths, Loft With 3 Beds On 47 Acres With Ponds, Streams,&Serenity

Enjoy the warmth and restorative simplicity of true log cabin living while pampering the body with organic toiletries and luxurious bath and bed linens. The sound of the waterfall, the ducks milling about on the ponds, and the quiet rhythm of life on the farm is wonderful for relaxing the mind and body.

Located just 10 miles west of Brevard, North Carolina, this beautiful log cabin is part of Falling water Farm, a private equestrian estate that is nestled in its own secluded valley. Large picture windows frame meticulously maintained pastures bordered by streams and springs that flow into a pond located directly in front of the cabin. The covered porch overlooks a waterfall that is beautiful to look at and soothing to hear, especially as one drifts off to sleep. Come morning, enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the horses graze and the ducks dabble for their breakfast on the pond. Guests are welcome to walk the property and under the owner's supervision, meet the horses.

The cabin has an open floor plan for the kitchen, dining, and living room area. This design feature takes full advantage of the floor-to-ceiling windows to offer unrestricted views and a feeling of connection with the land and life that surround the cabin. The living room is tastefully furnished with a couch and matching recliner as well as a rocking chair. In addition, there is a flat screen television with Direct TV satellite and a DVD player.

The master suite downstairs has a king size bed, walk in closet, and private bath. The soothing sound of the water is particularly nice in this bedroom. Upstairs is a roomy loft area with another full bath, a queen bed as well as two single beds. One of the single beds can be collapsed and moved out of the way if not needed. The cabin is air conditioned and separate temperature controls in the master bedroom, loft, and great room ensure maximum comfort during the summer months.

The Kitchen is equipped with a microwave, electric range, refrigerator with an ice maker, dishwasher, blender, and coffee maker. There is also a stacked washer and dryer unit. Additionally there is a barbecue grill and outside dining area located behind the cabin in its private yard. Access to the property is private, entry is via an electric gate. Guests are assigned a unique entry code prior to their arrival.

Located just off of Hwy 64, we are convenient to Cashiers, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway, and Highlands to the West, Brevard and Hendersonville to the East, Asheville to the north, and the upstate of South Carolina to the South. All of these locations have a lot to offer from great restaurants to great antiquing. The major hubs of Atlanta to the south and Charlotte to the east are both only 2 1/2 hours drive away.

Transylvania county is the land of waterfalls and hiking, biking, cycling, and sightseeing destinations are literally only minutes away. For hikers and mountain bikers, Jocassee State Park is only 2.3 miles down the road and for cyclists there are miles of bike routes all through Transylvania county. Should fly fishing, tubing, or kayaking interest you, both the Davidson river and the French Broad Rivers are just minutes away. For the horse enthusiast, there are several stables in the area that offer trail rides, but reservations are a must. We are also close to DuPont State Forest, Pisgah State Forest, and Caesars Head State Park. The Biltmore Estate with its winery, grounds, and gardens in Asheville is only 35 miles north.

Because of the numerous water features and four legged animals already on the property, we are unable to accommodate children or pets. But if you are looking for a place geared towards the adult traveler, Falling Water Farm is for you.

Peaceful hospitality.

Loved Ilse's A frame guest house. Clean, comfortable, cozy, and Ilse is wonderful. She baked cookies upon arrival, delicious orange and almond scones for breakfast, and showed us around her beautiful farm estate. Inspiring and awe stuck by the whole experience. We will be back!

Beautiful location & lovely cabin.

  • 5 of 5

The property is scenic--pond, waterfall, horses, ducks--& the cabin is comfortable, pretty, & well-appointed. Ilse is a perfect hostess (& wonderful baker). The drive to Brevard is an easy 10 min. This is a great place to stay.

Amazing property and perfect hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying here and it was just as amazing as the first. The cabin feels like a home away from home, and being a horse lover, i got to see her horses grazing in the field every night. We highly recommend this cabin as a spot to stay on your vacation. The location has a great access to Pisgah national Park, Sapphire, Brevard, Hendersonville and Asheville. Thanks again Ilse for a wonderful experience.

An Absolute Gem!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! Such a beautiful property! The cabin was very relaxing and it had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Waking up in the mornings to the sound of the waterfall. Feeding the ducks. Playing with the puppies and kitty. Helping with the horses. Ilse is such a sweet lady and goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. We will definitely be coming back!

Absolutely wonderful.

  • 5 of 5

Went for the eclipse expecting maddening crowds all fighting for a viewing spot. There were a lot of folks on the roads and in Brevard. We got to Falling Water Farm near Brevard and it was like there was no one else within thousands of miles. The accommodations and surrounding grounds were nicer and prettier than advertised. A truly wonderful experience thanks to Ilse Kirchhoff the owner.

Peaceful Paradise

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful long weekend spent at Falling Waters Farm. Our hostess couldn't have been nicer - even bringing us fresh baked cookies and scones - and introducing us to the various animals who are residents here. We especially enjoyed the visits from puppies Hiccup and Bob and cat Tommy! The cabin was absolutely spotless and beautifully appointed with high-end linens and toiletries. The kitchen was well-stocked with dinnerware, utensils and spices and we had no problem finding what we needed to fix our own meals. Ilse welcomes guests to explore the farm and we spent a lovely time visiting the horses in the barn. We can't wait to return next year to see how much Bob has grown by then!
